I definitely understand I went in Tuesday and was released Thursday... I wasn't getting enough liquids in and felt horrible.... I'm only getting 16.9oz of Water in a day and some popsicles.... I hate Protein Shakes now and yogurt

I'm approved surgery is 12/26 started my preop diet yesterday but I'm going to officially start tomorrow

It was really quick. I was in and out for both the upper GI and the EKG in under 20 minutes total. They did both in the same room. (They were able to see my reflux as it happened and my hiaital hernia, which was kind of interesting.) I expect to see the surgeon on Wednesday and set a date for surgery. Still aiming for the 28th. Fingers crossed!

Hi guys! I had a mini gastric bypass with Dr. Illan in Tijuana on May 16th, 2017. I have officially lost 100 lbs! If anyone here is on the fence about Mexico, I say go for it! It was the best choice I've ever made. If you guys have any questions feel free to ask.

Didn't get a chance to read all the replies here so I hope I'm not repetitive, but I'm going through Miriam as well (dr. Stafford) I also have BCBS. I called before starting the process to see requirements, there was no six month observation just the deductible & a referral from a primary (though I was told by surgeon's office process takes 6-9 months). I had my consultation 8/26 and have completed my psych, sleep study (which you can now do from home!), required meetings, & have one class for nutritionist before I'm all set with that then I wait for approval! Once approved I'm told I need to do an ekg, blood work, & swallow test (which can be done in one day at Miriam). You do have to pay your copay for each visit (specialist copay).
