  1. I am surprised that I'm not the only one holding in the number! It makes me feel better! I will tell him one day but just not now. He is tall and around 160 pounds. It's hard to not feel overweight around him. I can't wait for the day when I (hopefully) weight less than he does .
  2. Hello all. I received my insurance approval and an aiming to have surgery this month. My husband is aware of the surgery but he has NO idea how much I weigh. Yes, he could very well have an idea but I've never discussed it with him. He's 160 pounds or so and has never dealt with being overweight. My thought is that I will tell him my starting weight once I lose a lot of weight. Has anyone dealt with not telling their spouse? I know he'll be accepting of it but I still can't bring myself to tell him.
  3. My doctor submitted to insurance on 10/31 and it was approved on 11/04. I called at least twice of day and they told me on the 4th that it helped me in getting it approved faster. Good luck and I hope you receive your approval soon!
  4. My doctor didn't mention the liquid diet for a day before but they might let me know on the phone when I set the actual surgery day. I contacted the surgeon's office today to let them know of my insurance approval. They said they were going to call them today to get the insurance company to fax the approval (instead of waiting for it in the mail). I'm so anxious! I can't wait!
  5. Thank you both . I'm leaning towards doing it a few days so that I get used to it for pre-op.
  6. Hello everyone! This is actually my first posting but I have been part of this community for a few months now. I attended my first seminar in May, met with the surgeon for the first time in August, and completed my supervised diet plan from August-October. The surgeon submitted my file to insurance on 10/31 and I was approved on 11/04! It has been a very seamless process for me and I consider myself lucky after reading some of the posts . I am calling the surgeon on Monday to be proactive and since it only takes 1-2 weeks for surgery (based on his schedule) once you are approved for insurance, I am hoping to get sleeved around the 16th. My question surrounds the liquid diet for two weeks before surgery. The surgeon is not making me do a liquid diet because my BMI isn't above 50 (I'm currently at 44-45). I'm seeking feedback on whether you think I should do the liquid diet anyway. My thought it that is may make it easier to do the liquid diet post-op but I'm not sure of other benefits. Thank you all .
