  1. I was weighed in at every Surgeon, dietician, and primary doctor appointment. My starting weight for insurance purposes was my first weigh in with the dietician because that's how their clinic operated. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
  2. Hello all, I had surgery on 11/22 which makes me 5 weeks and 4 days post op. I have seen a lot of posts today regarding stalls and comparing weight loss with one another. I did this the first week or so after surgery and drove myself nuts over it lol. I decided to make a post outlining my loss so far and to say that I am okay with it. Yes, I had an immediate high loss but I am now down 7.2 pounds in the last 30 days which isn't even 2 pounds per week. However, I am okay with this . I have been going back on forth on whether or not it's a good thing. I've thought to myself that I'm only 5 weeks post op and have only managed to lose 7.2 pounds in the past 30 days...but I'm okay with it! Everyone is different and it's not a race. I even gained two pounds two weeks after surgery but it's okay! I know that I am doing the right things and that's all that I can do. 286.4-Nov 22nd surgery day 277.0-Nov 26th 4 days post op down 9.4 pounds 269.0-Nov 30th 8 days post op down 17.4 pounds 271.0-Dec 8th 16 days post op down 15.4 pounds 265.2-Dec 22nd 30 days post op down 21.2 pounds 261.8-Dec 31st 39 days post op down 24.6 pounds
  3. I was able to sleep on my stomach without pain about 4 weeks after surgery.
  4. You can expect stalls throughout your entire journey. It's unfortunate but normal. I've read of stalls lasting a couple days or weeks. I personally had about a two week stall a couple weeks after surgery.
  5. It'll get better once you hit solid foods. Hang in there!
  6. It really depends on your insurance and also the clinic that you are having surgery with. I had monthly primary care doctor visits and nutritionist visits for three months. I also saw the surgeon twice during that time. I had an additional surgeon visit and nutritionist visit the week before surgery. In the past 5 weeks since surgery I have seen the surgeon twice and the nutritionist twice. I had to sign a contract with them that I will see them each every three months for the next year and annually after that. Lots of visits!
  7. I hope all went well yesterday for you! What a great way to start the new year!
  8. Everyone is different so it could go both ways. I go back to work on Tuesday and my surgery was on 11/22. I did have some complications along the way but so could you. Two weeks could very well be just fine but there is that possibility that it may not be enough.
  9. You are right on about the calm before the storm! I was at the gym today and brought my kids to the pool. I know it'll be really busy next week! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
  10. My advice would be to only weigh yourself once a week. I drive myself crazy weighing myself too much and it's something I still struggle with. I know that I gain weight as the day goes on so I can understand the weight gain. It's definitely hard but try for once a week . You are still early out from surgery and I did experience some weight gain in the couple weeks after my surgery. Continue to eat right and eventually exercise and you should be fine . 11. I only had about a two pound weight loss from my 1 week to 1 month post-op appointment. I immediately lost about 17 pounds in the first 5 days after surgery and it stopped. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I asked the surgeon's office about it and they said that it's completely normal .
  12. Bariatric Advantage chews are great!
  13. I had a lot of issues right after surgery due to some complications. I was drinking/eating basically nothing! There were quite a few days were I was lucky to get in 12 ounces of Water and I can tell you that I was extremely dizzy and was almost admitted back into the hospital. Up your water and that should help .
  14. Good luck and congratulations!
  15. I'm not sure about pre-op but I would say that if you love to chew gum, stop now. I was told that I can't chew gum post-op because of the air and therefore gas that it will produce. It'll be nice to have a jump start on getting used to it.
  16. I also have Cigna and it really will depend on if the hospital wants you to pay upfront. This happened to me once when I had foot surgery and they wanted me to put money down. I also have a 10% coinsurance on my policy. The surgery was $49K and I just received my EOB paperwork for the surgery itself and I have to pay $1,100 after all the write-offs and such from the hospital. Luckily it turned out to be less for me. Hopefully it works out the same for you!
  17. I have the Blaze and I love it. I had the Fitbit Flex before and it was okay but you can definitely do more with the Blaze. I also owned a Garmin but everyone I know has a Fitbit so it was hard for challenges.
  18. I didn't have to do a pre-op diet but congrats on your approval!
  19. Congratulations! SO many great things to come! Welcome to the new you!
  20. I experienced liquid diet hunger towards the end. Once you get to solid foods it;s so much better! Hang in there! You got this
  21. Congratulations!! Merry Christmas!!
