Unsupportive sister[emoji35]
Often family is more unkind to their family then to acquaintances. They feel they can say and do anything and be forgiven because they are related. Define how you want to be treated. The fact that you two are related doesn't give her special privileges. Banded 10/12/16

Scar tissue causing almost impossible fills 9 yrs post-op
Wow, my surgeon always does fills using a florascope. If you have scar tissue this bad from you gastric band surgery what makes you think you won't have scar tissue with other types of surgery? Are you planning to have a surgeon remove the current scar tissue? If the band worked for you and is still holding fills why not have the scar tissue removed, and keep the band? Banded 10/12/16

Did you by chance barely eat all day and then have a holiday treat (sugar)? That will cause it too. I agree with what others wrote above. Banded 10/12/16

Binging before surgery
I went through a bariatric center of excellence, and my surgeon and insurance required six months of classes, monthly weigh in, psych evaluation, etc. I yo yo during this period. The day of my surgery I was down 10 pounds from my first class. The nurse said the surgeon would be okay with that number, but would not accept a gain. I asked if he would have cancelled and she said, "he has before." WLS does not replace willpower, self discipline, eating healthy, etc. You won't be successful if you don't get your arms around it. Don't think, I will never have pizza again. Instead think, in the future I will be satisfied with a couple bites of pizza, ice cream, etc. You are not dying, but instead going to be reborn into a healthier you. Banded 10/12/16

Intermittent Fasting
When I was growing up my mother would do the Rotation Diet whenever she needed to lose a few pounds. I don't know what her calorie count was, but I remember she would follow it for a week or two rotating through a three day cycle. I now do it periodically and eat 800 one day, 1000 the next and 1200 the third and then repeat the rotation. I read this article about a similar concept called intermittent fasting. One version, eat only 500 to 600 calories on two nonconsecutive days and eat normal the other days. Another option normal one day, next mini-fast, and third day only eat during certain hours. Some people are very strict six days and then take Sunday off. This type of eating plan doesn't work for everyone, especially people with diabetes, etc. I think it works for some people because is switches things up and keeps our metabolism confused. Interesting option. Banded 10/12/16

Am I finished losing weight?
I'm no medical experts, but I've had success rotating my calories and or exercise. One day 800 calories, the next 1,000, the next 1200, the repeat. Same with exercise. Good luck. Banded 10/12/16

Lap Band....First Episode!
You could be....but maybe not. I felt restriction my first couple of weeks, but learned it was likely swelling. By four weeks I only had that stuck feeling if I didn't chew well enough. I'm not yet at the sweet spot, I have my second fill on 12/27. My understanding is that once I'm in the sweet spot I will feel full at between 1/4 and 1/2 cup of food per meal. In about a year at the 1 cup mark. I believe it is a feeling of fullness versus feeling something is stuck. I could be wrong... Banded 10/12/16

Calcium Supplements and Eating Dairy
@@Bufflehead thanks for sharing. Great advice as I don't want to live on supplements.
