    2 Days post op

I was sleeved Monday and I struggle to get my fluids and protein in as well. The first few days were rough. My NUT told me my goal was to be able to hit 32 Oz today. I feel like I might actually meet that goal today. I'm not required to hit 64 Oz until at least a week out. And make sure to count everything. A sugar free popsicle is 2 oz. They told me if I had to, eat 16 Popsicles to meet my goal. Lol. Old me would have cheered. New me was wondering how that'd even be possible. Lol

    Sleeves 5/1

I was sleeved 5/1 also. I have had a lot of pain up until today. I of course had a lot of shuffling around right after surgery. I ended up in ICU because I could not maintain consciousness and my blood pressure and heart rate were very low. I went home the next day in the evening. This morning I felt horrible and weak and I knew it was probably dehydration since I struggle to meet my fluid goals and have had diarrhea since wednesday. I'm feeling better now. A couple doses of pepto and some powerade zero and yogurt have helped a lot. I've done good so far with just Ibuprofen today. Haven't taken my Oxycodone since last night. I'm not able to lay flat yet or sleep in my bed propped up. I've been sleeping on the couch recliner. It's easier to stand up and causes less discomfort. The main pain I feel is from the incision they pulled my stomach from. I was worried a little about restriction because I don't actually get a full feeling yet but a friend explained that I probably wouldn't on liquids but as soon as I start the soft phase in a couple weeks I will.

    Sleeves 5/1

Had my surgery May 1st as well. When I eat something like jello or yogurt I can feel when it hits my stomach. Same with my meds I have to swallow. I did feel a little pain in my back on day 2 (don't remember most of day 1. Ended up in ICU and have only bits and pieces of memory until after 5pm). Since I've been home the main pain I experience is from my incisions. Especially the largest one. The heating pad has been a life saver. It's like it calms my angry muscles so I can sleep a little longer. And helps the has pains. I haven't had many yet but I'm sure they're coming. My only other problem is constipation. No BM since Saturday so I'm starting to feel a bit uncomfortable in that sense. Hope that pain improves and if it concerns you, just call your surgeon and ask. Mine told me that if I feel any pains that I don't think are normal for this to call them right away.

    MAY BUDDIES

Surgery was yesterday. I had a bad reaction to one of the med given to me during the surgery and ended up in ICU for all yesterday. Today is much better and I'm in a normal room. Hurting a little

    Any May Sleevers?

Day 4 of the liquid diet for me. I failed day 2 (big time) and day 3 (had a very small bowl of spaghetti). But I've done fine today. It wasn't as hard it seemed and even with my slips, I've lost 6.8 lbs since Monday!

    Seeking GA sleevers

I haven't had my sleeve yet. Surgery is on Monday. But I'm near your area.
  9. Hey guys. I just wanted to share this with you all. My surgeon recommended the ProCare chewable vitamins because it's one a day and only other thing I'll need to take is a Tums a couple hours later. I was advised to try some ahead of time to be sure I liked the taste. While looking on their site and getting ready to order... I saw they have a disclaimer to "try before you buy". No refunds/returns on opened bottles if you don't like the taste. Nowhere did it say click here to request sample so I went to their "contact us" page and entered the required info and told them I was wanting to request a sample. They messaged me back the same day and in less than a week I had a package of several samples. Just wanted to share if anyone was looking into ProCare supplements. https://procarenow.3dcartstores.com/crm.asp?action=contactus That is the link to the contact page. I took a pic but I don't know how to upload it in the app. I'll try to get on the website and post it in the comments.
  10. Y'all are all very welcome!

    Any May Sleevers?

Day 1 of pre op today... did pretty good. My husband opened up his rings he had smoked yesterday and I was practically drooling. He told me to just try a little bite. But I held strong and just finished my cream of chicken soup and jello. I have a feeling tomorrow will be harder... but I can do this

  13. They sent me a sample box of several of their products. Both a chewable and a capsule vitamin. 2 of their flavored protein powders. 1 unflavored protein powders. 1 liquid protein sample. 1 powdered calcium sample. 1 powdered fiber sample. Then 2 discount codes. 1 for buy 1 get one half off and the other for 10% off your first order. I tried the chewable vitamin last night. It wasnt as good as Flintstones taste, but it's also not bad. It's definitely doable for me and the price is great. Hopefully my taste won't change too much after surgery.

    Any May Sleevers?

May 1st here as well! Excited but anxious all at the same time. If my husband asks me if I'm scared or nervous one more time I might kick him! Lol
  15. Yes they will! I love them too! Affordable and good quality and comparable to other pricier brands!
  16. This post came at the right time! Thank you so much! I have my VSG scheduled for May 1st.
  17. Hey there! My surgery is 4 weeks away. I am wondering what I should go ahead and purchase ahead of time. Or what I should stock up on. I know the obvious protein drinks and vitamins but wanted to see if there is anything else that y'all know of so I can be as prepared as possible. Thank you!
  18. Anyone on here have the sleeve or the sleeve with duodenal switch with Dr. Turton? In my pre approval stage and getting a little nervous. My PCP recommended I talk to him about getting the duodenal switch done as well but Idk if he does that. I have an appt with his NP next Thursday but wanted to see if there are any others that use him. How was your surgery and follow ups with him? Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

Surgery will be May 1st with Dr. Turton! So anxious and excited all at once!
  20. It stopped letting me do the tagging thing for people... so I just want to say thank you to everyone. I will definitely get some gas x and I make my own chapstick so I will make sure I am stocked on that. I'm glad I posted this because I was planning to go to sams and get 3 cases of Premier Protein shakes. lol I'll try to get a couple of each one that was recommended that way if I don't like one version, I have other to try afterwards. Luckily, anything I get that I don't like will probably get used by my husband or son. My son loves the protein shakes and my husband will eat and drink just about anything. He is no where near picky. Unfortunately I am... so it'll be interesting.
  21. @teacupnosaucer: Thank you for all your advice. I will definitely invest in a heating pad. I don't currently own one. I'll have to check out the Campbell's gourmet cartons, I've never heard of those. I've definitely got to figure out what soups I can have. My surgeon said any "cream of" soups except potato. I have several pairs of leggings so I'll be sure to wear my loosest, most comfortable ones while recovering. I need to look into the compression tanks. those would be great. I had planned on asking for one of those abdominal binders at the hospital, but I'm sure a compression tank would be much more comfortable. I lived in my abdominal binder after my csection so I definitely know I do NOT want to feel that again! @OutsideMatchInside: Thank you. I have a digital postal scale... think that'd work? lol. Also, what food tracking app is your favorite? I've used myfitnesspal in the past and usually do good with it as long as I remember to sign in and log every day.

    7 months post op!

You can do this, you've already done so wonderfully! Stalls suck, but when you get out of the stall you get to celebrate another step closer to your goal! I'm less than 4 weeks away from my surgery so I'm getting excited! I wish you all the best and continued success!

    Prep for Sleeve Beginning

Those that had Dr. Turton, how long before your surgery date did they call to schedule you? I've been approved with insurance for over 2 weeks and was told they'd call in the order of the dates they have. I have a tentative date of May 1st but I have to submit for FMLA, request off for whatever day my pre op is going to be, and my husband has to request off too. I don't want to annoy them, but at the same time I need to have these dates on the books. At least my pre op date. I have to give a 2 week notice for time off request
