  1. I was sleeved the 29th. I have had a real hard time with the protien since surgery. I drink them before but have been told that your taste and texture tolerance changes. I drink Premier Protien and prefer their taste and the fact they are 30g of protien. I now have started adding a little Water and ice. Thinner and getting it the coldest I can has seemed to help. Someone suggested the high Protein hot chocolate that is 15g per 1 1/2 scoops. This morning I put 4 1/2 scoops in 12 oz of Water. It was like a rich hot chocolate and was 45g of protien. WooHoo. Hint that was passed on to me was to mix in 1/2 the total water "hot as you faucet gets". Once mixed add more of the same temp water and remix. After mixed good you can heat in the microwave to desired temp. Supposedly it doesn't mix as well in real hot water.

Does anybody use the plain protien you add to foods?

  2. I am post-sleeve a week this past Thursday. I'm having a tough time getting my 64 oz of water/liquid in but I just can't tolerate the protien drinks. I had no problem pre-op but now they just make me sick. I make it through about half of one before I get sick. I've made them with powder, ready made, thick and thin, Water, skim milk, coconut milk, plus others. Any suggestions?

  3. I am not a snacked either but have always ate meals to feel full. Most the people who have not been successful are people who were big snackers. I understand from some people I know that really never felt full before they do for the first time. When you have the sleeve they remove the little thing that makes you hungry which is good for about 6+ months. By that time your eating habits are pretty set. I wish you the very best and commend you, as I do myself for taking this step for yourself. I hope to hear about your journey. Mine starts tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. ((hugs))

  4. I'm tomorrow and the jitters are starting but I've experienced this with other surgeries I've had a before leaving on some big trips. It's the unknown. Just remember you did all the checking of the available types of surgeries and picked the best for you, they have to make those papers you are sounding represent the worse case scenario, you probably checked out your surgeon and their record, every surgeon wants the best possible results for their patient because it is their record people will be looking at plus they want their patient to be successful and happy. You take a risk every time you step in a car, get on a plane, or get in a tub. Have faith in you outcome and ready to start your new life. I wish you great success and your surgeon a wonderful day of begining your transformation of the rest of your life. Positive thoughts.

  5. Since you have until tuesday, it's good that you still have a full day in front of you! you should try to call the actual surgeon's office first thing tomorrow and see if they want to put you on anything stronger. there are oral medications that act pretty quickly, but it will be up to your surgeon to decide what is best for you. a concern with going to surgery would be if there is any risk of cross-contamination with your incision sites.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want him to do it if there is any risk at all. Just curious. Have a friend coming for a few days because we own a business and it's hard for my husband to be off. Have you had the sleeve? Did you need someone with you when you went home?

  6. I am scheduled for surgery this cming Tuesday. I've worked hard to get to this point. This weight I've lost now let's my belly skin lay against my other skin. On Friday (of course after the office had closed) I realized I had a fairly significant yeast infection. I had thought it was just a heat rash. I called the service but neither of the weight loss surgeons were on call. The Dr. I spoke with told me what to use and I started that night. It is better but is still there. Anybody out there with any experience with this? Will my surgery now be a no go?
