  1. Wow...thank you all! It makes sense now. I'll measure out my foods. I'm on mushy stuff right now. Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App
  2. I am 3 weeks post op and I do not have any triggers that I am full. I could keep eating and eating and it is almost as if I never had the surgery. Do any of you have any tips or tricks?
  3. I'm having this, too...7 days post-op. I'm not sure why either. Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App
  4. Hi. I am 1 week post-op and know exactly what you're feeling! It doesn't help that my boyfriend is an amazing cook and grill master so it was pretty torturous the first week, however, stick to it! Maybe mix up your diet a bit. I found this Protein powder by Body Fitness that has 30gm PER SCOOP. I get the vanilla...mix it with almond/coconut milk...applescauce...apple pie spice and bit it in my Ninja. It tastes just like apple pie Ala mode! Get some vegetable Soups and put it in a Ninja or whatever you're using and it's great at comforting your savory craving! Good luck!! 5. What type of excercise can I do at 7 days post-op? Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App
  6. I am 7 days post-op bypass and I don't feel like I've even had surgery. I don't feel those "full signals" like people said I would. I feel like I could eat and eat...strange right? I don't mean I'm starving but despite the fact I'm getting in my Protein shakes and am on a liquid diet, I still feel I'm hungry. Is this normal? Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App
  7. I had to ask for one strangely. They looked at me like I had three eyeballs! As a nurse I know the importance of compression after surgery. I'm not sure why that was strange to them. At any rate it was so helpful and I found that I did not need pain meds very much. Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App
  8. I am on my 7th post-op day. I really don't think I needed pain meds but maybe one time after I got home and it was only because I was worried I wouldn't be able to sleep very well through the night. My first BM was day 6. I took Miralax and mixed it in with me a little small amount of unsweetened apple juice or my Protein drink and it's very mild it doesn't taste at all. 9. Yes, I'm about 6 lbs heavier than the morning of surgery. It's rock solid belly and is so uncomfortable. Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App I had lost 8 lbs during my liquid preop diet but then gained about 3 lbs the night before. Now I'm 6 lbs up...and all in my belly. 11. Ok....I am now on my 5th post op day...I look 8 months pregnant and feel it. I've been taking Mirilax which seems to work BUT I still look and feel so uncomfortably bloated...no kidding....I look like I'm pregnant about to give birth at any time. I weight significantly more than I did preop. Please tell me this is normal and there are others who've been through this? How long should I plan to suffur? Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App
  12. Thank and please keep us posted on your recovery. ..I'm just barely getting started...and I'm excited for you....did you ever sought about getting the surgery Sent from my SM-G386T1 using the BariatricPal App I actually had second thought many times throughout my 2 wk preop liquid phase. I wondered if I could really do it or not. I pushed through and jumped in with both feet and did it. I can't honestly say that I made the right decision yet as it is too early to tell. Last night I ran a 102.4 temp and have gained 5 lbs in 24 hours. I believe the fever was a result of a virus lurking around instead of it connecting to my surgery. As far as the weight gain, I have no idea....I look 8 months pregnant....and feel it too. I'll post more updates on my experience. We will get through this together! 13. So what's the normal /average time frame for you to have your first BM? I haven't gone since Sunday pre op night. I'm not taking any stool softeners yet. Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App
  14. One thing I found really helpful is to ask for an abdominal binder. It works wonders!! Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App

  17. I had my RNY Monday so as I lie in the hospital bed I thought I'd off my real time experience. First of all, YAY...I DID IT! Now, I wasn't prepared for the pain I've been in. They gave me a PCA pump with Dilaudid which barely gave me coverage. Now they've changed me to Oxycodone which helps until thee very last hour. I've done well tolerating my small sips of Water and Protein shake. The pain is coming from all the air they inflated me with. Unfortunately, is not the type of gas you can just let out...I wished it was that easy. The important thing you can do is MOVE, MOVE, MOVE. Trust me, it really helps! Ok...I'll post as I have updates. Hugs to you all! Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App
  18. Wow..Monday is quickly approaching for my surgery and boy am I nervous! I think it's the unknown of what to expect that is feeding my anxt. I've thought about having this surgery for several years and it's finally here! I'm excited about this journey and pray I'm successful! All I think about is food right now....is that a bad sign that I'll screw this up? I miss my wine with my meals. Well, no sense in stirring all this up so bite the bullet and do this already! I know why I'm here and I know I can do this! Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App
  19. Mine is Monday too and after reading so many.posts, it's made me even more nervous. All in all, WE can do this! We are overcomers!! Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App

  22. I'm in the midst of my 2 wk liquid diet....my cycle just started AND I'm having surgery on MONDAY!! I changed my last surgery date so I could avoid being on my cycle during surgery...wouldn't you know this diet has my hormones all confused! Now I'm still having to go through surgery on my cycle. Anyone else have or had this issue? I have to have a cath for a couple of days too JOY! Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App
  23. Wow!! I'm so happy for you...great job!! Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App
  24. That would be awesome! Only 2 people know I'm having this done as I didn't want to be under everyone's magnifying glass so I'd love to have a buddy! Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App That you so much for the encouragment! You put my mind more at easy! Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App
  25. I'm entering my 2nd week of the liquid pre-op diet and can TOTALLY relate to what you're feeling! Once the reality has began to set it, it's a bit scary! Hang in there. We can do this! Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App
