  1. There's a fabulous support group on Facebook for March people. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1391677344221994/
  2. Yay! Another 13th!!!!
  3. I am the same! Happy and terrified! I'm not worried about surgery, since I've had a previous surgery. I'm more scared about after. Hoping I am able to stick to plan and be successful.
  4. Any instagrammers want to follow each other for support? Mine is Melsyvsg
  5. He never really said why no pre-op diet. It's just not something their program requires I guess. I'm fine with that! I do know the day before is liquids only though, but just that 1 day
  6. Just me with surgeon and got my date! March 13th it is! Pre-op class and anesthesiologist meeting March 3rd! No pre-op diet with this surgeon.
  7. March 13th!!!!!
  8. Well today I see my surgeon after completing my 6 month requirement, to get my surgery date. I am in a panic! I am sure a lot of you have dealt with the same feelings. It's really happening! I'm most worried about the loss of my best friend- food! Well bad food, the food that got me here. I know it will be hard to let go of my bad habits. I just hope I can do it! I have a journal to start writing down my feelings, I have everything in place. Like all of you I have watched, read, and researched everything I could think of. My heart is ready, but I just hope my food addicted brain will join the party!
  9. I followed Hoping for feb/march date! @melsyvsg Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Mine was quick, maybe 20 minutes. She just went over the questionnaire I filled out and made sure I knew what to expect. She asked how I would deal with obstacles or any negativity as well. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I've been hooked on syntax nectar vanilla bean torte. I do need to try different options though! I like the vanilla flavors best so far because you can mix so many things with it. I love frozen peaches right now in it. Yummy! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. I'm not telling my coworkers. It's a gossip factory there and the whole office would know in minutes. Are you from Boston area? Me too! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Well after my last surgeon appt 11-8, I was pretty sure I would get denied. Reason being- I did not have "documented" 6 months worth of non surgical weight reduction attempts. My insurance requires it within 2 years of surgery. I did do weight watchers, but off my sisters plan/books. I never officially joined. Long story short, the insurance coordinator was going to try and submit. Well, she called and said they did ask for additional info, but not about my weight loss attempts. Soooooooo, no immediate denial, but just a waiting game now. She said December lots of people are trying to get stuff approved before the new year. Hopefully this goes through, otherwise I wait until February. That will be 6 months documented time and I should have. I problem getting approved then. Fingers crossed! 15. Well these 3 months flew by, so hopefully the next 3 do! I had all my appointments though so that may be why the past 3 months seemed busy. Now I just have the NUT appt each month. Oh well! Everything happens for a reason. My time will come! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. Second surgeon consult and my insurance rules changed! Lucky me now I have to wait 3 more months. She said she will try and submit it now and see what happens, but most likely I'm looking at Feb/March Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Tomorrow is my second surgeon visit. They said paperwork should be submitted after that and I will most likely get a tentative surgery date. I do have a cardiologist appt wed, so I assume they will submit paper work after that visit. It's just hitting me how quickly this time has gone by! I am sure a lot of you have gone through this stage- should I do it? Am I ready? Etc etc. eeeeeeeeeeek. Trying to stay calm and positive. I feel I am ready. I have read and researched like crazy. I am aware that everyone's journey is different. Just wish I could fast forward through surgery and recovery! That's the part that scares me the most. It's unknown. 18. Depends on insurance requirements. Are you self pay? It could be quicker if you are and also depending on the program you're going through. For example my seminar was aug 18, first consult sept 6, and last surgeon appt will be nov 8. From that appt my info gets submitted to my insurance and if approved I am looking at dec surgery. It wasn't horrible but glad it's over. I hope they told you the barium goes out the same color it went in LOL. so don't be shocked when you poop! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
