  1. What I have found is that a lot of times people just don't understand and that ignorance makes them come across as being mean or rude. The comments that people make about how much weight we've lost or how little we eat or how different we are from the people we used to be do get old but they also come from people not knowing what to say to us and not understanding what life is like for us now.

So we will keep rocking on and doing what we do and being healthier versions of ourselves and we will smile when people make stupid comments because in the end we are better than letting the ignorance of others steal our sparkle!

  2. One year ago today I had my RNY bypass done! One year later and I'm down 125lbs and I have lost a total of 90.5 inches!!!!

I feel amazing, my knees don't ache every time I move and my feet aren't so sore from carrying that much weight around!

I don't get winded walking up a flight of stairs anymore and have found that I love jogging and I love yoga and riding a bike is fun again!!

I still struggle with who I see in the mirror so I take a lot of pictures. I take measurements every month or so and I Celebrate with activities instead of food now.

What a difference a year can make!

  3. I could so use an accountability partner! I am 9 months post op from RNY bypass and in the past month not only have I stalled but I have had serious issues with head hunger and wanting to snack on EVERYTHING!!!

I set tomorrow as my "back on track" goal and I could really use some help with holding myself accountable.

I'm in GA so eastern time and I'm up early so anytime between 7:00am and 8:15am is great for talking but I can text anytime!

  4. Girl you are working that sleeve!!! You look wonderful.... at 9 months I want to be able to say I was that successful. I am doing pretty good for my body size as well plus I'm only 3 months out ( I just posted pics too [emoji23]) but you are truly killing it. Congratulations

I had the RNY Bypass 6 months ago and it was life changing! Thank you so much for the sweet words! This group has been so important to me and such an inspiration!

  5. To answer a few different questions....

    I'm 5'7

I lost 13lbs on the preop diet before my surgery.

I have followed the food guidelines a lot! I listen to my body and really push the Protein. I drink about 80oz of Water per day. I go to the gym 3 times per week, do yoga 2 times per week and I walk at least a mile EVERY day!

An average day for me food wise:

Breakfast - a low carb Carnation Instant Breakfast packet mixed into 1 cup of 2% Fairlife milk.

Mid morning snack - a handful of roasted almonds

lunch - 1/2 cup of chicken fried rice (with carrots, peas and scrambled egg whites)

Afternoon snack: 1 Colby jack cheese stick

Dinner: small piece of grilled/pan seared Ahi tuna, green Beans and sautéed squash

Sometimes I have 3-5 Nilla wafers for dessert.
