    Finally seeing it!

I have spent the last 15 years yo-yoing in my battle with my weight. I used fad diet after fad diet and never could find an actual lifestyle that helped me be healthier. For the first time I'm actually learning to make better choices and I'm building healthier habits. It makes the weight loss feel even better to know that I'm learning to change my relationship with food instead of hiding behind whatever diet I was on at the moment. I try very hard to keep in mind that the surgery was a tool, not a permanent solution. It gave me the opportunity to change my life but those changes have to come from me. Reading stories like yours and seeing the progress you have made is really inspiring. You look great and I'm sure the lifestyle changes you have made make you feel great too! Finally seeing it!

It's really been an amazing journey so far. I panicked at the 2 week stall and thought for sure I was going to be a slow loser. I had no idea that once I got passed that hurdle that the weight would start falling off of me. I'm so excited to see how the next few months go. I'm expecting another stall and I know the weight loss will slow down but I'm still excited to see how it goes. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Finally seeing it!

I guess I couldn't see it because I see myself every day and usually I don't notice the changes. It's been a little over 2 months. And I'm down 59lbs and 39inches! I'm so excited to see where else this journey takes me! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Exhausted....

I am 6 weeks post-op and for the past few days I have been absolutely exhausted all the time. I'm getting my normal 8 hours of sleep at night. I'm taking my Vitamins and supplements. I'm eating roughly 600 calories per day and trying to get my Protein in everyday. I'm drinking more than the required amount of Water and I'm getting my walking in. I feel like I'm doing everything I'm supposed to be doing but for the past few days the exhaustion has been extreme. I have dropped weight very quickly, 44lbs in 6 weeks, maybe too fast? I want to get back in the gym but I barely have the energy to do laundry and cook dinner after work. Is this something normal? Anyone have any ideas to help me get my energy levels back up? 50 down!

I feel really awesome about my progress so far and I'm so excited to be on this journey! I have been lucky to not have a lot of food issues, I still take it slow and learn new food quirks about my new stomach everyday! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  13. Today is exactly one month since I had WLS. I don't normally weigh in mid week (I weigh in and do my measurements on Monday mornings) but since it has been a month since my surgery I weighed myself. I started my journey at my all time heaviest 280lbs. During the preop diet I lost 13lbs so on the morning of my surgery I was 267lbs. Today I weighed in at 240.2lbs. I am down 40lbs!!!!!! I'm finding my way through the new diet and feeling more confident by the day!

  15. I had my surgery 6 weeks ago by Dr. Valenzuela at Mexico Bariatric center. All of the staff and doctors were really great. They took great care of me and were so attentive. Dr. V was very professional and was very open and honest about everything she was doing. I had some internal bleeding after my surgery, not because of any wrong doing, just a blood vessel that came through the stitch line. They were so amazing with all of that and were so caring and sweet to me during my recovery, which included blood transfusions and an extra day in the hospital. I would definitely recommend her and her facility! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Exhausted....

That's so awesome, we can be weight loss buddies! Walking is the easy part for me normally. I use my phone to track my walking times and steps and every day I try to beat my record times and take a few steps more than the day before. I'm eager to get in the gym and try the elliptical and the stationary bike out! My surgeon recommended holding off on weightlifting until 8 weeks post-op so I'm just focusing on cardio now. Exhausted....

I walk 3 miles per day during the week and about 5 miles per day on the weekends. I make myself walk up and down 2 flights of stairs at work a few times a day as well. My surgery was 8/23/16 and up until the past few days I have felt great. I hope it passes quickly and I can get into the gym soon. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
