  1. Other comorbidities that can be considered are fatty liver, gallbladder issues, repeated bronchitis, osteoartritis, and GERD. I have suggested this to others (it worked for me)... Write a letter describing your medical issues, how the weight effects your life, a synopsis of weight loss attempts, family history of diseases (specifically obesity related diseases). Showing that weight effects your life negatively, with concrete examples, might push thru your approval
  2. Not loving the liquid diet but im down 20lbs in 9 days.Thats a good thing. Hw - 385 Cw - 365 Sw - ?? Gw - 180
  3. I am bipolar and i had no issues. My psych visit was the last requirement i did (because of scheduling issues) but the dr said i was good to go. They felt it was more important to focus how I planned to deal with the physical and hormonal changes rather than the mental health issues as i am stable, even without meds.
  4. My surgery is in 5 days. My grandma asked me if i was excited. I am not excited in the strictest defininition. I dont want to do the surgery, I NEED to do it. If i could lose the weight without it, I would not do the surgery. But I cant. Fifteen years of yo-yo dieting, getting heavier with every regain says I cant do it alone. 8 years of edema, 4 years of diabetes and 2 years of tendonitis that wont heal because i keep reinjuring my elbows pushing myself out of a chair says I cant. I am tired of "I cants." I am ready for "i cans". Are you tired of "i cants"?
  5. Agree! I would say "im having a bit of a stomach bug, but i just couldnt bare to miss your party. I always have such a great time." Flattery tends to distract people right quick
  6. I add it to my yogurt, were i can taste it a bit but nothing horrible. I also added it to Jello. On the batch i did, it settled to the bottom with a not favorable texture/flavor but again nothing you cant handle. I also add it to Protein shakes to super charge them, so i can boost my protein and so i can be used to the flavor during the first couple of weeks post op.
  7. I have BCBS as my medical provider in CA. You have to have a comorbidity and a BMI of 35 or BMI 40 or above with no comorbidities.
  8. Thats crazy! I can understand cheating on the liquid diet (i admit to cheating with eggs and beans), but def not the day before or day of.
  9. I was averaging 50+ episodes per HOUR during my sleep study. I wonder if that qualifies as extreme.
  10. You should ask about the possibilty of using nasal pillows and a chin strap. I have been using pilaro q nasal pillows for over a year now. I find it very comfortable. I reccomend it highly. I did have some irratation the first week or so, as my nose was getting used to the air. I find it more comfortanle than the resmed version. I dont have to use a chin strap though.
  11. I have not had much luck with neighbors since we moved to Yuba City. The first left neighbor had 5 german shepards that would bark for hours on end. Right neibot no contact. When we moved, the left neighbor has 8 people in a 3bed and was evicted within 3 months. Right neighbor woukd have parties with loud music until 2am every other friday until they were evicted. The house on the left was sold, rather than rented, so they more respectful. The family on the right lets their 2 toddlers roam free, running in the street, playing in my yard. Scares the crap out of me.
  12. Ive had issues with a neighbor down the street too. Her go to insult is calling me a fat bich. The hilarious thing? She is just as fat and unarguably less attractive. She lives with her mom and dad and works part time at Circle K. Ive also heard that she has new boyfriend... who has been in jail for over a year. What part of her life gives her the right to throw stones?
  13. I need to find a new app for Water. I started using it 6 months ago, and ignoring it 5 months ago. I dont even hear it anymore.
  14. Wow! Thats crazy! The most i would pay is $60-75 per week.
  15. Try it in yogurt! !! Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App I like it in noosa yogurt. I had a full scoop in the pumpkin flavor (42g - i did add an addition tbs of pumpkin i had on hand) yesterday and half in the key lime today (27g). I think half a scoop in yogurt is a good goal. With a full scoop i can taste the protein a bit. No horrible but not just yogurt. Brand names?
  16. I am so in! I get sleeved on 10/5 and this halloween is going to be our first anniversary.
  17. Many of the services offer diet specific options like low carb, low fat, paleo, gluten free etc.
  18. Does anyone use meal delivery services (blue apron, home chef, hello fresh etc) on a regular basis? I have tried blue apron and home chef, using introduction coupons. While a tad on the expensive side at normal price, I did like most of the options provided. Since husband and I will both be sleeved, i was thinking it might be a good option. A 2 person, 3 meal plan could easily stretch to provide 6 meals for two sleevers. Has anyone else used these services post op? How did it go?
  19. Oh my husband had several suggestions which I had to shoot down.........daily Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Mine does the same thing.
  20. Im still preop but my diet fatman* was practically giddy at the range of babybels my local store carries. I think single serve cheese is going to be my go to snack. *fatman - The part of your brain that convinces you to eat unhealthy food
  21. Great minds! I didnt even see your post prior to mine
  22. I suggest finding a high protein powder. I am preop but was having a hard time getting the 64oz liquid plus the protein drinks down. I found genepro medical grade protein and add it to my shakes, jello and sometimes other bevetages to boost my protein. Its 30g per tbs and has very little of the "ugh thats protein powder" flavor. Its does have a protein powder smell, but not bad according to my husband.
  23. I also like the genepro medical grade protein. Its 30g per tbs, unflavored and adds very little "weird" taste to foods.
  24. If you eat cheese, try paneer. Its a fresh indian cheese with a mild flavor, suitable for vegetarians. It doesnt melt, has a texture a bit firmer that firm tofu.
