Take a deep breath. It is a thing, because it IS A THING! I have a stall about every 3 weeks. Frustrates the heck out of me.
But eventually they break- Mine last 7-10 days. and then I move on like gang busters. Just stick to the plan and keep chugging Water as you can.
You are in good company.

Chrissy, I was where you are. I started this journey with what could only be kindly referred to as "baby fine" THIN hair. And the thought of losing it sickened me. Well, I am five months (almost) in and yup, hair is falling out. It started at about 3 months and I lose a good small fistful every morning. I take Biotin religiously, Shampoo every other day with Biotin and collagen shampoo, take my vitamins/flax seed, etc. And it falls out, and the biotin assists with new Hair growth. Not as quickly as it falls out. I got a perm about a month ago to give my hair some body. I can't say it helped. It is not the best side effect. But I am down 70 pounds, wearing "real person" clothes. Enjoying size 12 skirts and skinny jeans, crossing my legs, not being the biggest person in the room, and loving compliments that make me feel beautiful. I'd give all my hair to keep this. It will slow down (dr. says the loss haults when the weight loss does, so I am in NO HURRY, now, for the Hair loss to stop- I'd like to eek 30-40 more pounds out of this sleeve), and your hair will come back. Maybe not as full as before, but when the rest of your body feels this good. You can find a hair cut that works for you. YOu won't be bald, ut you will have thinner hair. But... it will match the rest of you! Relax. It is okay.
Honestly, the Constipation is worse!

35 minutes ago, Vinasu said:I count every calorie. Letting my body tell me when to stop got me into this mess.
Yes, sometimes I'm still hungry. That's when I serve my Protein on a bed of spinach, riced cauliflower, or miracle noodles.< br />
To lose weight, you must be consuming fewer calories than you are burning. Tracking calories helps me be certain of this.holy cow, Vinasu, you are throwing some seriously impressive numbers there! 100 pounds!? Awesome!
Calorie Counting it is! Thanks!

WGHT1, You are singing my song this morning. Consequently, I had surgery only two weeks before you did and I have also HAULTED at 173. scale. WILL. NOT. MOVE. UGH
Doing much of the same things, joined a gym three weeks ago. Eating about 1000 calories a day (give or take 1-200) and can't seem to get that darn thing to move. I am hoping the "4 month stall" (as your post is titled) is a THING!
I have hit many stalls along the way but this one is a hanger-oner.See my doctor later today and hoping he can give me some encouragement. I am losing my hair like crazy and that paired with this stall has me a little stressed.
I hear my doctor telling me (in my head, on a loop) that the surgery will assist with helping me lose 1/2 my excess weight. At the time I was 240 and he took me down to 116 as an "ideal" meaning (as he described it to me): I have about 124 pounds to lose, and the sleeve will help with 62. I so hope that is NOT true.

I am 5 months post op. I walk about a mile 3-4 times a week at work. I also work out 3 nights a week at a local gym. Intermittently running and walking a mile and doing light weights/many reps.
Moderate, I guess

you will always want to eat slow to give your body time to register what you have eaten. yes.. the food gets cold quickly. I used some thermal cups for Soup in the early months. I am about 5 months and have to remind myself to slow down. I work in a fast paced office, so slowing down for lunch is hard for me. you won't always have to eat as slowly as you are now, but it is a good practice. I have, too many times, been caught eating too fast (now that I can physically do it a little more) and then am miserable for a long time. It is better to take it easy.

You are simply experiencing a stall. Stick to your plan. I have had them nearly every 3 weeks. Frustrating, but they pass. Mine last 7-10 days typically

Good Morning all. I am almost 5 months post op (20 weeks). I have lost 69 pounds. But two weeks ago the weight just haulted. HAULTED.
I have had stalls before (seemingly about every 3 weeks) but this one is sticking solidly. I have changed two things: 1) my husband and I joined the local gym three weeks ago. I am doing cardio and light weights (3X a week) with many reps (trying to get this body a little toned, and help with skin sags) and 2) I have noticed that my hunger has returned. I am consuming at least 1000 calories a day. Sticking to high Protein choices (yogurt, string cheese, HB egg, Protein Bar, etc) but the calories add up fast!
So I am wondering.. do you all count calories? or just let your body direct you? I was astonished, when I started using My Fitness Pal, how many calories I was actually consuming. I would have guessed 400-500 per day, but I am eating twice that! I am getting concerned that my sleeve is done helping me, and I am on my own now. And I am finding myself more hungry than I have been in the last five months.
Anyone have some words of advice? encouragment? I know that working out will increase hunger, but I kind of thought the surgery would curb that, at least for a little while longer.

It took a while for my husband to really notice/acknowledge my loss. I am just about 3 months post op and down 58 pounds. Getting some new clothes helped. When I was wearing my size 18, it was tough to tell. Now my 14s make it a little easier to see a difference. I am floored how few sizes nearly 60 pounds equate to. ????

10 weeks out here. No issues. Prescribed prilosec to take daily for first 3 months. Love not waking up with fierce heartburn.

If it were me, I'd take a couple little bottles of diet cranberry juice, and throw in a lemon. Your own secret sangria. No issues.

You may have had more sodium. I wouldn't panic. My weight does fluctuate from time to time. Also (warning: possible Tmi) you may not have had a healthy bm. That sometimes helps. ????

At six weeks I was still on puréed foods. Soup, or maybe a side of refried Beans with cheese might be a good choice.

Hang in there. In 2 months, I have had three stalls. Just follow you plan, it will turn around. It is just your body freaking out and storing.

Get some popsicles. They were a lifesaver for me. You have to eat them fairly quickly and you can chew them. I would eat 2-3 a day. It gives you a more flavorful liquid consumption. Just make sure they are sugar free.

@Malin: I did not have the same dramatic experience you did, but I have a sister, a cousin, an aunt, an uncle and a few coworkers who all had some form of weight loss surgery, most gaining at least a significant portion of their weight back. I was THAT nay sayer. "oh, you don't want to do that! The weight comes back! It is just a temporary and unrealistically drastic measure to do to yourself." etc...
Well after having a hysterectomy at 38 and shortly there after turning 40. I gained 10 pounds a year and started losing interest in the things I previously enjoyed: travel, biking, the beach, swimming. I was embarrased of my lack of self control and I no longer felt remotely attractive. I felt like a spectacle and eating out became very uncomfortable. I started researching the sleeve almost 3 years ago. For a short time considered Lap Band. It took me 2 1/2 years to make up my mind. And when I did, I was all in. I had my surgery 6 weeks ago. I am down 38 pounds. And feel better in my own skin already. I am more confident and comfortable and looking forward to an upcoming family vacation- like I haven't in years. And that is after only SIX WEEKS! I feel like I have been given a second chance to live my life as an active, healthy adult. I have genetically high cholesterol, fatty liver disease, back pain, GERD, and have struggled with Plantar Fasciitis. My PF is gone, no more heartburn, back and hip pain diminished, and I look forward to my next blood test to see where my cholesterol and liver enzymes are. The procedures have come a long way. I am so happy for you. December is right around the corner. The holiday happenings will be tough, but it is so do able and you will not be hungry so it will be easier than you think. Good luck!

Thanks again, everyone. My stall broke last week. I list an additional 6 and stalled again. ???? Luckily I have your posts to reread. ????. Gonna bust this thing. I think it may be calories too low and not enough Water. I am struggling in those areas.

Thank you. Nothing in my very detailed plan mentioned seeds. I had a couple of smoothies and thought better of it and switched to blueberries.I know my doc did not want me eating anything with seeds, while in the healing phase. Pretty sure that timeframe extended at least untill I was cleared for solids. The concern is small seeds can become stuck in the healing stapled area, which can in turn cause problems.

I am just shy of five months and finding that my appetite has returned a little. I still eat fairly small amounts, but find I am hungry about every 2-3 hours. I have eaten a Jr. Roast beef from arbys, removing the top bun after a bite or two. And i was okay. I was stuffed, but not in pain. Just make sure you are eating very slowly, and stop when you are satisfied. I use my fitness pal, and am a little astonished at how many calories foods are. I am eating about 1000 a day. My doctor said that is okay as long as I continue to work out 3-4 days a week. His instructions were "no less than 700, and try to stay around 1000 at the top end" Finding high Protein foods are pretty high calorie as well, but I just try again tomorrow to reign it in and stay distracted when hunger starts.
I am at about 3/4 cup of food per sitting. It takes about 30-90 minutes to eat a full banana. Usually I don't get through it all.
