    Raspberries?

Thank you. Nothing in my very detailed plan mentioned seeds. I had a couple of smoothies and thought better of it and switched to blueberries. Sent from my Z981 using the BariatricPal App

    What soups?

I have done a lot of green pea. Not split pea. It is a little tricky to find. Sent from my Z981 using the BariatricPal App
  4. I broke the stall!!!!! Wee! Finally. Almost 2 weeks, but I stayed off the scale for 3 days... "watched pot???" And we are back in business!! Thanks for the encouragement!???? Sent from my KFTBWI using the BariatricPal App

@@siera63 I split the can of Campbell's chicken noodle with my daughter. I got the broth, she got the noodles. Win, win. And was just the salty, savory, I needed. Sent from my KFTBWI using the BariatricPal App

I found the ocean spray diet cranberry, with a scoop of Protein powder pretty tolerable at that stage. It made the juice almost taste creamy. Sounds gross but it helped me a ton. And sugar free popsicles. Popsicle brand has a Tropical variety that was such a nice change from the standard cherry, grape, orange. Good luck. I am 2 1/2 weeks out and still struggle to get 65 oz of liquid in. Everyday is New day. Sent from my KFTBWI using the BariatricPal App
  7. Syntax nectar have been my saving grace. I can't stomach the premium Protein, anymore either. I got a sample pack and have already bought some tubs of favorites. The mix with Water ones don't dissolve so well, but I like mixing with milk anyway for the extra protein. strawberry mousse and double stuffed cookie were exceptionally yummy. 8. Thanks, friends. My husband heard me having words with the scale and came in and asked what was wrong. I told him, in very colorful language- that I am not incredibly proud of, about going 7 days and not moving AT ALL. He looked at me and said "wow, wouldn't that be something if that's all you got out of this." OMG! Although I know he was joking and my threats to end his life were also in jest. I can't say I didn't have that thought (all this for 23 pound!). But you'd all support me, right? If I off-ed him, on the evidence of that comment (alone) as motive!
  9. I bought it because it sounded good. I had some in my pre-op phase and thought it was "ok." Now I can't tolerate it. It kinda gags me.
  10. Hello my sleeved friends! Good evening. I have a sweet sweet friend who takes me out for dinner and a pedicure every year for my birthday. I'd love to keep tradition, but not sure where I can go and get pureed soup? I am day 11 and only 2 days into my pureed stage. I looked up Panera, they have a squash and a tomato- but tomoato has been all I have eaten. Anyone have any ideas? or places you have had luck getting the soup pureed? Thanks
  11. Ya'll live in more puree friendly lands than mid-Michigan! ???? I have called several restaurants, Mom and pops and chains. And only Panera and Ruby Tuesday (where I got a "maybe") will do it for me. Not even Bob Evans, which floored me. If you find a national chain that does this, can you post it? Post op - all liquids

I am 2 weeks post-op and still struggling to get my liquid goals. I am up to about 50 oz. But it takes a good amount of effort to get there. Sent from my KFTBWI using the BariatricPal App

    Can't get my protein in..

I was also sleeved on 9/28. I can no longer stomach the Protein shakes. WAY too sweet. I purchased unflavored Protein powder (I bought the nectar brand) and have added it to diet cranberry juice and broth/soups. Also, Nectar sells a sampler pack of protein powders. Honestly I have only really liked 1 or 2 so far, but they are FAR better than the choc. Shakes. You get 23 grams in each pack and you mix it (note, they do NOT dissolve well, but it is tolerable) into 4 oz of liquid. Big protein punch for a small amount. I am WAY under my protein goal, but try to work to 30+ a day. I probably don't hit it more than I do. I just keep trying. The unflavored powder is a good addition though, you can add it to so many of your pureed foods. Just keep trying.
  14. Second question: I am Catholic and I asked my doctor when I could take Communion (our church has the slim small wafers, not the bready kind). He said "you SHOULD be able to handle it, just chew alot". Choking or having an issue in church terrifies me. I served Eucharist this Sunday and simply passed when it was offered to me. Any body out there tell me when you started taking Eucharist after surgery? Any problems?

    Communion Wafers? When?

Thank you. A month is a lot longer than I had hoped for.

    Sleeved with no major pain

Thanks, @blizair09. It was a good visit. OK to drive. OK to move on to pureed foods, IF I get in 65 oz of liquid a day (I have been getting in about 40). THAT was incentive enough for me!! I am cranking these liquids back and enjoyed about 2T of applesauce for lunch and 2T of tomato Soup for dinner. HEAVEN.

    Sleeved with no major pain

I had a similar experience my only pain was when i first woke up i had to wait like 15mins for them to put the drugs into my IV then for them to register but other than that i never had pain except slight gas discomfort, never took the painkillers they sent me home with, nurses were pretty surprised. i hope you can say the same for the next weeksYou are a better man than me. I felt like absolute hell the night after the surgery and the two days after. On the third day post-op, I started to turn a corner and every day since, I have gotten better and better. Thank God for the pain pills!!@@blizair09 you and I had very similar experiences. Same surgery date too. Feels good to be a week out. My mind periodically reminds me how I felt "this time last week". ???? can only think it will only get better from here. Post op appt tomorrow. Hoping for driving clearances and a stage 4 (pureed foods) permission. Only discomfort now is the incision where the drain port was. Sent from my KFTBWI using the BariatricPal App

    Emotional day 2 post op

I was sleeved on 9/28. Days one and three were awful! I had little gas pain, but horrible pain for a hernia repair. I was not expecting that level of pain! By day three I was pretty blue and in the "why did I do this to myself?" Mood. It passed. Feeling much better, much stronger, and hardly any pain 8 days out. My PA said it was totally normal and to expect a low at about three weeks and then again at five weeks. Sent from my KFTBWI using the BariatricPal App

    Let's talk about vitamins

I bought a huge bottle of celebrate and regret it. I can't tolerate the taste and am working with the company to return/exchange. My fault totally. Had a sample, thought it wasn't bad and bought 180 to save $. If I can return them, I think I'll just get Flintstones complete. Sent from my KFTBWI using the BariatricPal App

    Hospital bag packed...ready to go!

I would add, if I were you and if you have one, a soft easy to latch (front if possible) bra. I have only underwires and am a bigger chested girl. I can not stand being out in public without a bra, but the incision lines (I also had a hernia repair) are right where my underwires rub and bras feel like barbed wire on me. If you have a soft, non underwire, bra- you may "enjoy" wearing that one home rather than underwires. I wait here in my house until my neighbors appear gone and then go for my walk. No need to scare the children! Oh and good luck! The first 48 hours sucked for me, but 7 days out and I am feeling MUCH better. Just take one day at a time!

Can you do SF popsicles? Those have been my lifeblood. Feels like a treat and because I have to eat them (and get to chew them) in a limited period of time, they seem to be the best way to get some liquids down. I eat about 3-4 a day. Thus far, those and beef broth, have been the only liquids I have enjoyed. I got the tropical ones by PopSicle brand. Very tasty and different. This morning, I made a cup of decaf and used my choc Protein shake as "creamer". That has been a nice treat as well. Something different.

    Hungry...or gas pain?

I just started my Prilosec this morning. It was a capsule and I was a little nervous about it. Nexiums are MUCH smaller. But the nurse said I should be taking them. I am hoping this will alleviate the gurlging feelings in my stomach. I swear I am keeping my hubby up at night, SO loud! I am thinking they must be gas pains/noises, because I rarely feel hunger, other than "head hunger" which I deal with, but is getting better. Other than the grilled burgers my family enjoyed last night.... ugh... sippin' my broth, sippin my broth. You might have some acid, but it could also just be legit hunger. Keep pushing your liquid (I am doing TERRIBLE at this) and your Proteins (ditto.) But I just keep plugging away.

    Last appointment with surgeon!

Happy Birthday, my October sisters. I made a commitment to myself last year that it would be the LAST year my weight controlled me. I had my sleeve on 9/28 and my birthday is tomorrow. Feeling so good about making good on this promise to myself. Even told my hubby "no presents this year- you are going to be buying me SO MANY new clothes! :)" I am Day 7, and other than feeling a little weak and tired this morning, am feeling better than I have in the last week. More confident I can do this. Happy birthday. I hope both of you have a blessed and wonderful day!
  24. is anyone else having issues with "hunger". I am not legit "hungry", but the habit, the process, I miss. I am only 5 days out and each morning I crave a cup of coffee and a piece of toast. Dinners with my family, as I am sipping broth leave me longing to have some pot roast, or chili, or some of the other things they are enjoying. I am not going to try it- believe me I can barely get down my liquids. But so many of the support group people said "it will be so easy post op, because you won't even be hungry." My husband took me for a ride yesterday and stopped at McDonalds for himself. I am NOT a fast food person.. He asked "Is it wierd to NOT want any of this?" and I told him "oh, no. I want to grab that bag out of your hands and eat a fry or two!" and he was shocked. I know I have to cope with my husband and daughter eating normally around me, but is anyone else just missing the idea of eating?
