  1. I've heard that with VSG and RNY the part of the stomach that produces the hunger hormone gets cut off/so much of your stomach is removed that the hunger hormones are drastically reduced. I've also heard that hunger comes back over time (stomach/hormones adjusting to the proceedure?). It seems like everyone may have a different experience.

Just out of curiosity what is it that freaks you out about RNY? I know I had a similar reaction when my surgeon recommended RNY instead and I had to do some research to get myself very comfortable.

There are many people on this site that had a VSG and ended up having to then have bypass anyway.

I would definately talk to your surgeon about this and your concerns about what might be the better option for you.\

There are many of us on this site that would be happy to answer questions if you have them.

I don't like the idea of my stomach and some of my intestines just floating around in my abdominal cavity. I feel like they would eventually rot or decompose or something. Which I honestly know can't be true if they can reverse the surgery, but it still weirds me out.

Plus, from what I've seen (which is really not that much) it's harder to recover from and has more chances for complication. Maybe I'm misinformed?
