  1. I'm sure it will get easier with time. I have surgery in two days. I am scared and nervous. I have anxiety on a daily basis. My biggest thing is learning what to eat and what not to eat. I am still a little confused. I thought I knew until I started my pre op diet, but I don't. So that's what the next two days are going to consist of. I really hope it gets better for you! Have you talked to your doctor? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Thanks. I have - my surgeon seems to be really, really strict. My liquid phase is 10 days, others seem to be 5 or 7. He was also strict about meds in the hospital. (Lack of, that is). I asked for applesauce to be permitted to help swallow meds - waiting to hear, but also thinking a half cup of SF applesauce can't cause harm? Good luck with your surgery - from what I can tell it's the 15 pills a day I take causing most of my issues so I'm sure you'll be great!
  2. Can you take them all at once? The stuffed full feeling for me doesn't abate.
  3. I was told not to count calories at that stage. If you're allowed Protein shakes - that's really the only calories you'd be getting. Are you getting any protein?Yes, 1 shake a day at least, it's about 33g protein and 200 calories. There's no way I could get in 4 of those to meet my 80-100 protein goal. I don't think it is. It'd be like 50+ popsicles lol.
  4. 9/15. I'm definitely in the regret phase, but feel better coming on here to know I'm not crazy haha.
  5. My preop was liquids for 2 weeks. I didn't cheat 1 bit and only lost 10 pounds. I think slipping in some chicken or fish would've actually been better and lead to more fat loss, but hey. The preop was much much easier than my post op. I expected to be hungry. I'm not. I am full, sick feeling, and struggling to eat enough. As much as I thought I was prepared, I wasn't.
  6. I'm 9/15, clear liquid only. I'm confused how to reach 800 calories??
  7. Just be careful and don't make it too hot. Some protein supplements don't do well if they are too hot. I like ProtiDiet hot chocolate. They seem to be fine - I have a milk steamer, they're 140° - no where near boiling.
  8. Yes, thank you that's a good idea. I'll try my psychiatrist.
  9. Thank you both. Yes, I take a PPI - pantaprazole which is thankfully a very small pill, I make sure to get that one in 1st thing. I also have the zofran dissolving tabs. Warm Fluid is MUCH better - I take caramel or chocolate Protein powder and put it into steamed milk, tastes like a latte without the espresso shot. Couldn't get any cold milk Protein shake down, have ditched that for now. Thank you all again. ❤
  10. Holy cannoli, $2500???? I had a $500 program fee. Half up front, half right before surgery. $2500 is insane!!! Glad you found a better doctor.
  11. I haven't checked, too scared it'll become an obsession. Last I checked which is when I first got home was 14 pounds. That was pre op diet and 1 day post op.
  12. Hi all, I've read/participated in a lot of threads. This is an awesome community and I'm so thankful I found it. I've found some answers through talking around and searching old threads, but I'm still confused about so much. 1. I'm in pain (more like severe discomfort) constantly. The overstuffed full nauseous feeling never backs away. My tummy gurgles and I swear I can feel swallows get stuck. I've tried the gasx strips. Didn't seem to help or hurt. I am walking, it is all around my house as I live in the south and am concerned about dehydration. 2. I take 14 pills. Most of them are mental health meds so I can't just skip them. I think that's why the full feeling won't die down. I cannot get ahold of my surgeon or nut - I'm in Clear liquids only phase so I'd love to try mixing these in SF applesauce but not sure if it'd mess me up. 3. I cannot drink enough. I get some Water and Powerade in daily, but not 64oz. I get 1 Protein shake and some protein liquid in, about 60-70g. I'm only getting 300 or so calories. I am so frustrated I cried for the first time during all of this. I made it through the liquid preop diet, surgery itself all fine with no cheating or crying. Sounds dumb, but I was proud of myself. Other info - I'm 5 days out (surgery was 9/15). I do have BMs but they are very loose. I am up and walking, I walk my steps a lot and in circles all around my house. Any advice would be much much appreciated. Thank you!
  13. Is that all you take? Do you find you're very full after the meds? I take 15 pills, I think it's preventing me from getting other stuff in.My Lamictal is #1 for me. Then Celexa. I have other meds but I can spread them out during the day. I take my Lamictal 1st thing in the morning with 1 swallow of Water. Now that I am 8 months out I can take all my meds with 2.5 Oz water. It fills me to the brim but that's what I do. My mental health is #1. My blood pressure medicine is after because if my mental health is out of control my BP will be up too. I have lost 75# and I no longer have to take BP meds Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App That's great! Congrats on getting off the bp meds.

  15. 5 days post, yesterday got 66g protein but only 375 calories
  16. I cannot think of food. I have 1 Protein shake a day, some Water, and some Powerade. I feel sick and horribly full/overstuffed. Surgery was 9/15. I'm not hungry but I am pretty miserable Sent from my SM-T550 using the BariatricPal App
  17. Best of luck with your liquids! If your surgeon allows, the cucumber slices really helped me.
  18. How's it going for you? Hopefully well
  19. I am also at day 5. Or 4, I'm not sure how to really count. I have a horrible bloated full cramping feeling - like gas pain but more moderate, yet still rough. I sure wish it would go away, it's hard to even get the Protein and liquid in! I sip sip sip but can't get enough. My tummy (more my esophagus) gurgles up what I'm guessing is trapped gas everytime, which does nothinf but make a teensy bit of room for the sip I took. I'm definitely in the regret phase. Are you taking anything for stomach acid (a PPI)? Be sure to walk to get rid of the gas! Try different temps of liquids to see if you tolerate any more than the other. Sometimes people are able to drink hot tea or ice cold Water better.Yes, pantaprazole. I walk and walk, and hot liquid is definitely better. It's just the constant horrible overstuffed feeling. Hoping it gets better, I'm sure it will. Thank you
  20. I definitely take my pain meds. My mom has cancer, and she's been taught to always ""stay ahead" of the pain. So every 4 hours I take a pain pill. Obviously I can't do that overnight, but if I wake up in discomfort bordering to pain, I start up again. Of course you can't do this forever, but it is bad for your body to be in pain as you can see through the bp numbers. I plan to lower mine after my 1 week postop

  22. I'd also be interested. Every surgeon's rules are SO different
  23. Has anyone tried "yes whey" or "new whey"?
  24. I'm not sure how to add a photo, but GNC makes a cutter and crusher in one that's helped me a lot
