I told my mother in law and she was so supportive. She is one of those "you don't need surgery" people but she told me that it's only because she loves me the way I am.
I was shocked!! Now I told my sister and she is the one who isn't as supportive. But you know what, I answer the questions she has and I just let that be her opinion and not mine! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My DR said December! I just had my first consultation last week (I'm a private payer) I have started my pre op diet, tracking and eating clean. I have all my appointments scheduled for this wee and next. Follow up appointment is October 18th to set up my surgery date!! So anxious and excited.

I'm new here too!! I'm 26/ 5'5.5 / 279lbs. Been on the larger side since I was in middle school. I had my first consultation on Wednesday. Still deciding between RNY and the Sleeve. I am a Private Payer. I have a follow up visit on October 18th and looking to have all of my appointments complete by then. Blood work is done and everything is scheduled except for the sleep test and the nutritionist visit! I'm so excited and anxious for the future!!

My surgeon is requiring many test, sleep test, blood work, stress test, see a phycologist and nutritionist. All of that will take more then a week just scheduling it. My follow up visit is a month from my first consultation and I hope to have all my test complete by then. I am a private payer as well.

I just came back from my first consultation. I am so excited to start this journey, my next steps are to see all the specialist! I am to follow up with in a month to make sure I have them all schedules or complete! My biggest decision in Sleeve or Bypass... Which one let me know what you chose and why!
