  1. I had my sleeve to bypass on Nov 22,2016.Been going good for me.I have no problems getting all my 64 ozs in and my 60 g of Protein in.I use Premier Protein from Sams or Walmart because it is 30 g of Protein in in drink.I progressed to soft diet after one week.I can eat 1/2 cup mash potatoes,or 1/2 cottage cheese.or cream of wheat.I eat slowly and use a baby spoon to help.take a bite wait a little while take another bite.Takes me about 15-20 minutes.

Hope everything goes as smoothly for you.

  2. I had the sleeve in 2011 and it worked well for me.Then acid reflux got a lot worst and starting causing all kinds of issues. My Hiatal Hernia failed too and caused my stomach to push upwards. It is hard for Hiatal Hernia's to not fail because they are attached to the diaphram and it moves every time we take a breath. On Nov.22,2016 I had my sleeve converted to bypass.Only way to end acid and bile reflux. They also repaired Hiatal Hernia again.Feel so much better.

Hope this helps anyone considering WLS.

  3. So sorry to hear of all the loss in your life.

I had sleeve to bypass surgery Nov,22,2016.I am now recovering at home.On Phasee 2 diet.

My Hiatal Hernia failed,Acid reflux bad and stomach pushing upwards because of the failed hiatal Hernia.

This bypass surgery will fix that.I feel good also having had the sleeve surgery{2011}.It has enabled me to lose and keep a lot of weight off.I never did get to goal though because of emotional eating.

All of us have to get control of emotional eating and turn to more positive rewards. Also I have to get on a exercise program and stick with it once I recover. These 2 things are the hardest things for me to keep some control of.

The surgery alone doesn't fix the these issues and diet alone never works completely. This is hard work in every area of your life.

  4. I had the revision from sleeve to bypass. The only thing to help me.They also did a hiatal hernia repair as the the other one failed.Recovery was a little more painful than the sleeve. The surgery takes longer because of scar tissue.

I had my surgery Nov.22,2016.Still on phase 2 diet.Healing in going good though.I recommend not having a revision from band to sleeve. My Drs said bypass is the only way to fix acid reflux. With sleeve there is a 30 to 40 % of acid reflux issues.Like many i didn't want o go with bypass the first time around because it reroutes things. Had to have the surgery now and so far so good.

  5. A band to sleeve revision will not help with acid reflux. The repair before sleeve will not work either.I had Revision from sleeve to bypass because of acid reflux and hiatal hernia repair failure. The bypass is the only thing that eliminates the reflux.

I had my surgery on Nov.22nd and home recovering. They did fix hiatal repair again also.so far so good.Have to go through phases of diet again.Still on Phase 2.

  6. I had gastric sleeve in 2011.Everything was going great.

In the fall of 2015 started having issues with acid and bile reflux.I didn't feel anything but then starting coughing a lot.

I started more Prilosec and checked in with my weight loss Dr.Had to have an endoscope and upper GI.The reflux was starting to damage the esophagus.

I also had my hiatal hernia repaired but it failed too.I am having revision surgery on Nov. 22nd to Gastric Bypass to eliminate the acid and bile reflux.

They said if they repaired the hiatal hernia again it would fail. This area moves while you are breathing so it can fail.

30 -40 % gastric sleeve can have this problem.

    Hope this helps others.
