I had gastric sleeve in 2011.Then severe gerd later.Had bypass 2016.Went to DePaul.Dr.Morales.Have never regretted it.I have lost a total of 110 lbs from my heaviest.

I had some flushing,my Dr said too many carbs and if you drink any alcohol can cause this.

I converted to bypass from sleeve 2016.Have done well.It is a little slower in recovery. Also more time to take care for sure chewing really well and eating slowly.I have lost another 62 lbs.I'm happy I did it. They also redid hiatal hernia. No reflux,no complications.

I had sleeve in 2011.Then had severe gerd.Had bypass in Nov 2016.I would just have bypass. If you have sleeve chances are you will need bypass later.

Recovery a little slower but not bad so far I have lost another 46 lbs.I had gained 20 back from the sleeve, which was from 2011.I couold of lost more if I exercised more, but I'm happy and still losing.Good luck.

After my paper work was submitted it was denied the first time, because insurance thought it was for weight loss.My Dr.did a Peer to Peer with insurance to make them understand it was due to acid reflux. Didn't take very long at all. Good luck at getting approved.

I don't know how far out your are from surgery, but it gets better as your body adjusts.Eating sugar and fats will make it worst. So stay clear, not on our diet plan anyway.

I went to couple Disney parks when I was 2 1/2 months out.I was able to eat salad, grilled chicken, shrimp.I did take some Protein Shakes to make sure I got my Protein in.At Hotel had scrambled eggs and brought some of my greek yogurt. Most hotels have yogurt high in sugar.Just make sure you drink all day or you will dehydrate quickly.I know we hate to buy Water but dehydrating is a lot worst..Most hotel have fridge and Microwaves so I would get some food I could eat and keep in fridge.

It is normal to feel nervous.Just take a few deep breaths and try to relax.I had my revision from sleeve to bypass in Nov 2016.I am doing great.I was so nervous too,but well worth it to get rid of my reflux issues and have my Hiatal Hernia repaired again.feel so much better and have lost another 44 lbs so far.You will lose slower but if you need to lose weight you will. All without acid reflux.

Eat with a baby spoon and fork.It will slow you down.Put your utensils down after every bite. This helped me

No I haven't had any more acid reflux problems at all.I was at 240 when i had the revision ,I have lost 43 lbs now.my taste buds have change more.I used to love Diet Coke.I tasted some one day all I could taste was a chemical flavor..Have to make real sure I take small bites and chew a lot.I did have 2 partial knee replacements after the sleeve ,so I didn't exercise as much. Now I can walk and exercise..i really feel it if i don't get my Protein and keep up Fluid intake now.My goal weight is 150 for now.Working hard to get there. Don't know your age but i'm 62..Stay in touch.

I had sleeve in 2011.Then in 2015 acid reflux that kept getting worse. In Nov 2016 i had Bypass.I will never regret it.I was really concerned that if reflux kept getting worse that my esophagus would be compromised and I would have to have a feeding tube in my old age.Hope this helps.I still take 20 mg omeprozole for first 6 months then I will be fine.So far no issues.

Everyone is talking about air fryers.A convection toaster oven or regular convection oven does the same thing. slice potatoes like fries[I use sweet potatoes better for you],soak in cold Water to soak some starch out. Then dry out.The cook in convection oven will be crisp like fries.Y You can skip the soaking but not as crisp.Cook in Convection oven.

A lot of stress with a teenager.Try to replace eating with exercise, cleaning ,walking, just moving around.
The food progression isn't that bad.You will feel so much better,.Keep you in my prayers.
Where are all the 50 something bypass patients?
