  1. I'm in the same boat. Kinda expected it after seeing multiple posts like this one on here. I literally just walked out of my 5 week post op visit and I'm only down 6 lbs in two and half weeks.

Over all I'm down 42lbs since my sleeve on 9-6 so I'm doing good. Like I said I expected this but it still sucks to see the numbers drop so greatly in the first two weeks and then so slowly in the last two weeks.

Keep your head up, and remind your self you did this to be healthy not for a number on the scale. My bottom line is if I'm healthier than that's what matters most.

  2. I recently read an article claiming that the fake sugars (man made) wile it has little to no calories is actually worse for you health wise due to its high level of sweetness. Basically your body gets used to such a high level that regular sugar is no longer sweet enough and this causes you to consume more of both types of sugars.

I ask because the sweeteners in diet teas and drinks taste too fake and I can't drink them. I know I don't need the empty calories of regular sugar in my drinks, recently I have been drinking crystal light lemonade and that's working fine. But I miss iced tea! Any opinions on this?

  3. Stay off the scale. It's your enemy. I look at it this way. I didn't do this for a "number" I did it to be healthy for my kids and myself. Try and look at it that way. I helps me not want to weigh myself all the time. I notice my cloths are looser and I'm now wearing stuff I couldn't before and I'm happy with that. I find out my numbers when I go in for my checkups. Btw I'm two weeks post op.

  4. My reasons for no scale is I didn't do this for a specific number I did this to be healthy for my boys, and my self. I don't care what my end weight is as long as I'm healthier then than I am now. And now I'm healthier than I was, so I'll keep looking at it that way. I'm gonna focus on eating "drinking right now" right and getting back into shape. The number will take care of itself.

  5. Not bad! I'm deff sick if Protein shakes already though. Can't stand them. Still a little sore at the main incision site but only if I really laugh or try and lay on my right side. Which sucks since I'm a side/belly sleeper. lol.

Not sure how much if any I have lost post op and I'm not gonna check till I go for my two week at the Dr office. My plan is to not look at the scale unless I'm there. Hopefully I can stick to that.

  6. As a guy! This is my biggest fear and honestly the main reason I waited so long to do it. I have always been a bigger guy. At 18 I was 230lbs with an 18%body fat. But pre surgery I was up to 415lbs.

Day of surgery I was down to 391. I'm 6 days post op and deff loving the loss so far but I'm so sick of Protein shakes it's not funny.

Deff gonna hit the gym as soon as I can I know that helps. And I hope to keep as much muscle as I can.
