Struggling with food
I'm having a hard time preparing meals. I am cleared for a reefular dietr and have been for about 3 weeks. My main go to's have been steak, ground chuck burgers, home baked chicken wingettes. I try to eat veggies like corn and Brussels sprouts but it's hard to fit much other than the protein in for lunch or dinner. My problem is that I am running out of things that sound good. Soup is still a no from the scarring of post op, and i tried zucchini noodles...that was a no go either. Please just drop some suggestions... also chicken breasts are a no ? Gained 6 lbs this week. 1 mo PO
Thanks for the reply! I was suffering with constipation week 2&3 but the most I would fluctuate was 1 or 2 lbs not 6 [emoji24] but I have been drinking miralax all week and have been very regular which was awesome! I was cleared for exercise this week so I was hoping to go back to the gym tomorrow and hopefully that will help. Hopefully it is the 3 week stall and there is a possibility that I could be starting that time of the month. All good things to consider, thank you!

Gained 6 lbs this week. 1 mo PO
I'm pissed! I have gained 6 lbs this week.. and 2lbs between yesterday and today. The only difference is that I am now on a regular diet (minus raw fruit/veg) so I am eating chicken, I tried some pork this week, some steak and my protein shakes. This is what a regular day looks like Am: quest protein 1 scoop, 8 oz fat free Fairlife milk 180 cals, 33g protein Lunch: 1.5 oz baked chicken breast 40 cals, 10 G protein (sometimes I'll have 1 oz of broccoli) Dinner: 1 oz flank steak/ 1 oz broccoli: 60 cals, 9 G protein -or- Another protein shake 33g protein, 180 cals Looking at this now I may not be having enough calories ( my nut hasn't mentioned how much I am supposed to be consuming, I assume it's 500-800 calories? And should only be eating 1-2 oz per meal. And I am drinking about 5 16oz water bottles a day. I thought that by getting closer to my protein goals and water I would start dropping. I am down from 255 to 222 (before the 6lb gain this week). And I haven't really lost anymore since week 3. I don't have another office apt until June 8th. Hopefully I have provided enough info for feedback. Thank you.

What are you eating for dinner tonight?
@OutsideMatchInside oooh that sounds good! Are you making yourself? Could use some pointers on the best way to prepare ☺️

Do you prefer organic, non-GMO based protein supplements?
Yes! It is extremely important. My go to is Orgain Organic plant based protein powder. Readily available and tastes great!

Support for my Wife
I am one month post op and I can't tell you how important my other half has been... without her I probably would have gone crazy. She is on point and knew what I could and couldn't have for each stage and helped me prepare meals and now that I am on a normal diet we put our heads together and think of meals that are good for both of us. But for instance last night we got really busy with clients and I had some left over chicken and she grabbed Taco Bell and that's Ok! At this point Taco Bell sounds gross but besides that I know that the world does not stop for me just because I chose to have surgery.. that's one of the first things wls patients have to come to terms with. She was also very helpful when I got home from the hospital by doing extra cleaning since I couldn't really and just helping me when I needed. You will be fine!

Hookah lounge
I quit cigarettes for my bypass but I still smoke MJ but my surgeon said it was okay. I believe that the shisha in ****** has tobacco. I'd say go and have fun with your friends but don't make it a habit!

Working out post op
I got the okay to start some light cardio at the gym on Monday, which is great because although I am walking and working I just feel kind of stir crazy still. However before surgery I was seeing a trainer and lifting so how long did you guys wait to use things like smith machines and stationary machines? Or did you find that different workouts were better/worse post op? Before I had my band removed sit up and crunches always hurt.. hopefully not expecting that with the bypass. Thanks!

Stage 3 and I can't stand any food
Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately refried beans is no where on my diet plan and I am afraid to stray. You guys are lucky!

Stage 3 and I can't stand any food
Hi. I was moved up to stage 3 diet on Wednesday which is creamed soups, puréed chicken (barf) and other stuff that makes me feel sick just thinking about. This has got to be the hardest stage because I don't know who the F could possibly purée a chicken and actually eat it, and if you have I have much respect for you. As for my premier protein shakes those make me gag now too. All I really intake is a yogurt and an isopure or two and lots of water. I am down 30lbs in 2 weeks so I'm not complaining about that it's just... this sucks. Next week I believe is tuna and chicken salad thank god. You know it's bad when your dying for a nice big salad lol. Sometimes when my head hunger is out of control I think to myself that I could have just died fat and happy. Ugh end rant. Ps. Please no lectures.

Well it says she has extreme back problems so maybe the doctors are confident in their reasoning.
