    Surgery date before approval letter?

I had a different type of surgery a few years back that insurance really didn't cover. I wrote a letter staring my quality of life and the fact I didn't have a lot of medical bills for this condition and it paid off. I was approved. Even the surgeon was impressed. Just write from your heart. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    United healthcare Bariatric program

I have uhc also and had my surgery at Texas health resources Plano and it was a great experience. It is the care of excellence for Bariatric surgery and it was excellent. The follow up with the nutritionist and the RN assigned to me has been very helpful and welcome. I think it made the whole process easier for me as everyone from Pre- op to the floor care was very knowledgeable about Bariatric care. Some of the process to get to day of surgery was hard and confusing but I made it through and am recovering at home 3 days post- op. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Did you tell people?

I have only told my husband (he's my great caretaker, my daughter who lives with us, my brother, and my sil (she had the surgery a few years ago and was my inspiration). I'm not sure what I will tell my coworkers but I have been overweight for years and the shame and embarrassment of it has made me reluctant to discuss the subject at all. I didn't tell my mother because she is in bad health and forgets what we talk about so I would have to tell her many times and I'm not up to that for sure. We'll see how it goes. Back to work Monday and life begins for me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    September 2016 Sleevers!

I had my surgery Tuesday and came home Wednesday night. I feel good except pain on left side from the larger incision. My gas pain isn't bad but I still have some. I am doing fairly well on my clear liquid diet and start my Vitamins and full liquid and Protein supplements tomorrow. This is truly not as bad as I had thought. Going to try back to work Monday. Second thoughts?

My surgery is tomorrow morning and I have gone back and forth somewhat but when I started my pre-op diet I put myself in "the zone" and all I have thought about is how to live my life after the surgery. I have spent hours researching and reading list from this site and gastric sleeve.com and hope I am prepared. I will post my experiences as soon as I can. 8. Not having to think about my diabetes and being able to keep up with my active granddaughter. I hope to have more energy in my life for all things, and the final is to shop in all of the ladies departments and maybe buy some good clearance items and not just junk! 9. I am telling people I am having a quality of life surgery to help better control my diabetes and the effects it has on me. I'll tell my work girlfriends after when I am ready. This is very private and personal to me and I have to stay focused or I may chicken out. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Choosing a Protein Powder

There is a website BariatricChoice.com that sells really tasty items. I look for high Protein and then read the reviews to decide which to choose. I spent $100 and have loved everything I purchased from Gelatin to Syntrax to Soups to berry flavors to add to my Water. I will have my surgery sept 13 and think I am prepared.
