    Under 200.

My surgery was 9/13. I weighed 195 and on Saturday I weighed 172. I am losing slowly about 1-1.5 lbs per week but I have lost each week. I measure myself every 3 weeks on Monday nights and am losing inches. I am wearing much smaller clothes and even my abdominal apron is shrinking. I only weigh at WW meetings on Saturday mornings so as not to focus too much on the scales. I go to the gym at least once a week. My struggles are getting in enough Water and my hair falling out. I come up short every day on the water but am trying to focus more. I just try to follow all the rules my surgeon set out. I wish you all luck and just keep your focus on the big picture of better fitting clothes and better health. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    September Sleevers!

Had my surgery on 9/13. I have done very well medically and was down 32 lbs last Saturday. I only weigh once a week at WW. I realized today I could pull my jeans up and down without unbutton or unzipping them. Bought new underwear 3 sizes smaller and down in pants from 16w to 12 or 14. I was lucky that my mother cleaned out her closet just when I needed some clothes. I have noticed I am more tired in the past 2 weeks since I went to trying to get my Protein from food. I am off all meds except antidepressant and my goal is to get off that by the new year. My hair is falling out so started the Biotin and hope it stalls it. I feel so blessed to have had a good recovery and I thank God for that. I have become hooked on this website and really have to do less frequent online activity as my house is suffering. This surgery is a great thing for me and I thank all the people who post on here that have helped me figure out the steps. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Hole for drainage makes five

I was told the same as above except don't rub soap on your incisions. Instead wash your chest area and let the soap run down your body. You do this until the glue comes off ( on its own). Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    So disappointed :(

Write a letter to the insurance company explaining how your weight effects your health and quality of life. Explain all the diets you have been on as well as how you need to stay healthy for your children. I did that years ago for a breast reduction that my dr assured me would be denied and I was approved. I really wrote from the heart and did throw in how much money I had saved over the years by not going to the dr for my back aches, shoulder aches because I knew the cause and just took Tylenol and suffered. It can't hurt your cause. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Amazed at being qualified

I said quality of life surgery to my co- workers. When I returned I told the office people that I work closely with but to the rest who have started commenting on my weight loss I tell them high Protein and low carbs have helped me lose weight. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    How Long?

I was approved in late June. By the time I could get off work, the dr went on vacation. Then it would be time for school to start. I ended up waiting until mid September so I had time to really wrap my head around what I was going to do. Waiting was the best thing for me as I went into the pre-op diet and approached the surgery confident in my decision. I have done great through the past 6 weeks post-op time. Surgery Day is Tomorrow!

The first 3 days were hard for me but then I turned a corner, didn't look back and enjoyed each phase. I am 6 weeks out down 31 lbs and doing great. Enjoy the ride and don't rush through each phase of this journey. Just sip your Water and start your Protein when told and walk, walk, walk. Good luck and prayers for all of you. Surgery Nerves

Just follow your surgeons advice and all should go well. It seems as though people who suffer horror stories had underlying health risks and/ or didn't follow the directions. It takes a lot of mind over matter to get through this so I come to this as I learn from others tips and tricks as well as hazards to beware of. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. Applesauce may help and last night I tried with lemon noosa yogurt and it was really tolerable. Someone else said sugar free cool whip, make a hole in it and then put your crushed meds in and take one bite and it goes down. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Surgery 10/24/16

You will be amazed at how well you will do in just 1 week. Just sip, sip, sip your Water and get as much Protein in as you can. Also follow your surgeon's rules and you should do fine. I had my surgery on 9/13 wearing a 16pw pants. Tried a size 12p pants on this morning and they fit. Amazing and all with no hunger. You got this. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Loved ones not supportive.

I'm also the type that would do it just because I could but the best technique is to follow glitter eyes advice and take him to an appointment to hear it all in person. But in the end people have to do what is best for them and their life. Good luck. This has truly helped me in so many areas of my life. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  23. I am 33 days post-op and have had a remarkable recovery. I went back to work 6 days after surgery and worked a full week including my football duty Friday night which made for a 15 hour work day. I had my first bout with diarrhea yesterday and I think it was the cran grape juice I added to my Protein Water for a different taste. I'm down 31 lbs so Life is good in my world. Period question ?

Check with your dr sooner than later. I ended up having endometrial ablation because of excessive bleeding that wouldn't stop. It was weight related but years before I had my sleeve surgery. I also had a blood transfusion because of huge loss of blood. Just be careful, it can get serious before you know it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
