    Infidelity (long)

I will say as a woman whose husband cheated 13 years ago, I truly learned what a broken heart felt like. We separated, divorced, and eventually reconciled. But there are few days that go by that something doesn't remind me of that time in our life. I see my life as before the affair and then after. After I am still a bitter woman and sometimes can't stand him because of this huge betrayal. Some days I hate that I fought so hard to reconcile that marriage. Other days I am fine and see how hard he tries to make it up to me. He has changed but that trust is so broken that it will never be repaired. He knows if it ever happens again, I will be gone and he will be left to pick up the pieces. This time it is just me, before we had a teenage daughter that had to be cared for. I think if you want the open relationship then both sides have to agree. If you married with fidelity being an understood or unspoken expectation of the marriage, it has to be honored or end the relationship and then move on to the next. I hope my weight loss doesn't cause other men to pay attention to me but if it does I'll probably be so oblivious to me I won't even know it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Just curious

How do you know you're full? Here is my true story from last nights night, Xmas eve dinner. I was sitting at a table across from some people I did not know. I apparently ate one bite too much and had a cross between a hiccup and a burp. I hoped it wasn't loud but when I looked up, I was embarrassed to see laughter in their eyes. Well I said excuse me, put my fork down and sat quietly until I could safely leave e that table. I hope I never have that experience again Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Yes, sounds like you need to find a therapist specializing in food disorders. Good luck with that. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    I am new,and I need help

I made a vegetable Soup out of all canned items. Corn, green Beans, etc. for my family early in post op. Added some beef stew seasoning mix and Lipton onion soup. They ate the vegetables and I had the broth. It helped me immensely. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Insight on hair loss?

Minoxidil and Biotin is supposed to help you grow your hair back. Nothing stops the loss and unfortunately if it is going to happen then it does. Can't stop it, so I say expect it to happen and if it doesn't then you dodged that bullet. If it does just know that it should stop and then grow back. That's what I'm banking on as I've been losing my hair for about 2 months now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Sore stomach two week post op?

I'm 12 weeks out and went shopping Saturday and Sunday I had pain/soreness in my stomach both days. I'm thinking it was combination of carrying heavy purse and walking so much more than usual. Just fine Monday so I think it is just a longer healing process than I thought. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I had it done several years ago and preop. I never noticed any weight gain over that. I did notice no more periods and no more blood transfusions. That was a good surgery also. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Food Aversions

Go to Bariatric Choice web site and look at the Bariatric choice brand Protein concentrate in fruit flavors. There is also a brand Proteinex that is good. I buy the lemon lime and then mix with Water and sugar free Gatorade or propel or sugar free juice. It just mixes up the shakes as well as the food some days. Syntrax is ok but the others are better imo Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    I don't want to weigh!

I weigh every Saturday morning at WW. I also take my measurements every 5th Monday and record it in Baritastic AP. I wish I had taken pictures but didn't think of it. I am 12 weeks tomorrow and down 48 lbs. I think the important thing to remember is that everyone's journey is different and a very important part of that journey is to develop new coping skills when it comes to not only eating but body image. 10. I crushed mine the first month and added it to applesauce to get it down. It was hard that way and I threw up 2 times. After my month checkup the dr said I could swallow again. I did something foolish though and cut my dosage in half because I was feeling so good. That was dumb and now I am back on full dosage and emotionally and mentally back on track. Supportive... but not

No one should have this surgery until they are absolutely ready and understand (as much as possible) the short and long term results that are possible. It is all hard and is not an easy way out. It is truly life changing. I knew I was ready when I didn't feel any anxiety and didn't care what anyone else said. Some people can do weight loss programs like WW and keep the weight off. But I think the most successful if they met goal and continue to work the program for life. (Again life changing) yo may need to see a therapist to work through the process. Don't do anything until you know it is the right thing, you understand the risks associated, and despite the fear of surgery you are ready to start the journey. What to take to hospital

You will want a pillow for the ride home. The bumps are uncomfortable. Wear home the clothes you arrived in and I left all my jewelry at home. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Paranoid

I too had an easy journey and can get more food in than I expect. For that reason I am careful to not overeat. My only problem is depression but it is ongoing and I think my surgery may have kicked me into menopause so I do feel overwhelmed at times and just shut down. I do count my blessings and prayer helps. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Overeating

Yes I did and I had to work hard at controlling that fear. But you really need to practice self control. It is possible you will be able to eat most things you enjoy now but in smaller amounts. Don't gain weight prior to your surgery. It's not healthy and think how much farther you will have to go in your journey. Good luck to you. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Stomach still swollen.

Your tummy is still swollen so it will take time for it to go down. I am 8 weeks out today and this is the first week I have felt that I my tummy is smaller. I have list in my butt and legs. My husband and daughter talk about my toothpick legs and my flat backside. Like the others say we can't pick where we lose. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
