  1. I felt it for about 2 weeks after my surgery. Felt like something was poking me under the ribs. Kind of like a baby's foot! It went away after a few weeks. Surgeon said it was the port ceeding itself into the muscle. Don't know... but now 3 months later I dont even know it's there except for the reminder when I get on the scale and 45 lbs. are gone!!

    Good lucK!

  2. I have been banded for only 3 months but bread is the worst! Cannot do bread at all! Fried foods kill me too! Pretty much I stay away from McDonalds, Wendy's, Burger King, etc! There is nothing there that I can eat. Taco Bell is the favorite fast food restuarant now for me. I eat 1 soft taco without the shell and I am full. I can do the crunchy chips and stuff, they go down fine. I used to be able to eat sausage and eggs but now that I have had my 4th fill they seem to be a no no too! I agree that every body is different. I work with a girl that is banded and she eats just about everything, but I am not so lucky. But on the positive note I seem to be staying full for 6-7 hours after a small meal. The last 2 nights I havent even been hungry enough to eat dinner. You will find your groove and there will be things you have to have the will power to stay away from. Good luck in your journey. It will be so worth it in the end!

  3. I have had the same experience lately. I have 5.5 cc in a 10cc band. I have been experiencing the exact same thing. I kind of figure it's because my stomach is full, but I have eaten too fast to know that. Therefore, it seems like what doesn't fit comes back up. It has actually been happening to me quite a bit lately. I was banded in March and have had 4 fills. I felt some restriction after the 2nd fill too. I am interested to see what some other longer term bandsters have to comment on this. I got my last fill on Monday 6/9 and havent even been hungry enough to eat dinner the last 2 nights. It seems like my stomach stays full for about 6 or 7 hours after eating now. Does that sound normal for being in the green zone???

  4. I was turned down on my last appointment. Same scenario -- I had lost 9 lbs. in 2 weeks and he said no way!! Yesterday I got a fill after losing only 4 lbs. in a month! Now I have 5.5 ccs in 10 cc band. Hang in there! Next time you will probably get one!

  5. I have Anthem BC/BS of California. No problems at all. Approved the same day it was submitted. I had done all of my prelimary stuff with Cigna and they required everything. My employee changed insurance on January 1st and my surgery was scheduled for February. They have been great. My surgery cost me less than $500 total.

  6. I get really crazy pain too. That is usually how I know I need to PB. Then after the pain slowly subsides. This just started for me about a week ago. Went from 3cc to 4cc in a 10cc band. Seems crazy that 1cc can make that big of a difference.

  7. I got my second fill yesterday, had 3cc in 10cc band. Now I have 4cc! I was kind of mad at my surgeon. Thought why bother with 1cc! Boy was I wrong. I have a lot of restriction now. I couldnt even get down some shredded lunch meat. For the first time I felt like throwing up. Guess 1cc makes a difference. Who would have thought. Is it possible I could be at the sweet spot with only 4cc in a 10cc band???

  8. I have Anthem BC/BS of California. They are awesome. Approved my surgery in less than 24 hours after the surgeon's office submitted it. My company was sold in December and we switched from Cigna. I had been 8 months in the process with Cigna. Switching to BC/BS was a blessing in disguise. I was banded on 3/4.

  9. I started in April 2007 under Cigna. Let me just say they suck! I had high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, hypothyroidism and taking medication for all of them. Not to mention a history of blood clots. And 100 pounds over weight! They denied me. Had to do the whole 6 month supervised diet by a doctor and a nutritionist. Then had to have all kinds of blood work. It was crazy. Finally in December I was able to resubmit and they approved it. Wouldnt you know it -- my company got sold on 12/21 and our insurance changed. I thought for sure I would have to start all over again. Luckily we got BCBS of California. It was a blessing. My surgery was approved the same day they sent in. I had my surgery on 3/4 and am already down 25 pounds!! It was so worth the wait!!!!

  10. I had to take Lovenox shots for 14 days after surgery. I had a history of blood clots from when I had my daughter 3 years ago. So my surgeon put me on Lovenox after my lap band surgery just as a precaution. It wasnt that big of a deal. Just a little prick in the "love handles" every night.
