  1. Hey BigRob, no problem. I go for my 2nd fill this THursday and am hoping for some better restriction. guess I'll have to wait and see what happend.
  2. i hve never been to Nashville, but been to Gaitlinburg, and Dollywood!! I too enjoy country music. Hope to get tickets for our state fair to see Carrie Underwood.. am due for my 2nd fill 6/5, banded 3/19 and first fill was 5/9.. Hope it happens this week. I am hungry and find myself eating more often.. not wrong choices, but just hungry. I only hope the call today from my DR's ofice was not to reschedule :smile2: Don't they realize we plan ahead to get out of work to make appts. I had an appt today and when I got there was told the nurse practitioner had gone home for the day..... Time to go for my walk and trip to the "Y".
  3. my instructions were no baths or swimming until all incisions were healed.. and it was jsut walking allowed for the first 3 -4 weeks. but as we all know each Dr has theirn own plan of attack for when things can be resumed
  4. 366 - as for gas and bathroom issues totally normal. I agree with Fairysaddle... need to get benefiber if have issues with constipation. and also, don;'t think it is only gas!!!! Walking is great for any gas pains. and yes, you may feel worse before you feel better. After about 2 weeks I felt ok, but was lucky to be off work for a total of 3.5 weeks. Fairysaddle - not getting to the gym when you really look forward to it is tough. I missed my walking Sunday AM and made myself gop to the "Y" in the afternoon. Actually ended up working out for over an hour!!!!!
  5. Unfortuneately I can eat the whole South Beach Living meal at one sitting, about 20 minutes. Looking for some restriction with my 2nd fill this week
  6. Did better today. Got in a good workout and was able to keep myself from snacking. All my food choices have been appropriate... Second fill will be this Thursday and hoping to get back some feeling of restriction
  7. i pushed myself to go exercise by myself today. I slept in and didn't get in the scheduled walk with my exercise buddy. and later when I tried to get hold of her she was not available, so off to the "Y" I went by myself. Had a great workout I have little if anything of trigger foods for myself in the house. I just find myself eating too often, even if it is good food sources; cheese, tuna, yogurt, cottage cheese, sf fudgecicles & popsicles. Tried to be better today and had a good success..
  8. I have several South Beach Living meals on hand, especially those that are just meat and vegetables. I also have the 4 oz cottage cheese containers and the chocolate pudding. THey do make the quick fix meal very easy and they taste so good
  9. HELP... I find myself eating too much. even though I feel some tightness. I am hungry. I feel like the wall has hit and I am scared. At this point in any ordinary diet I begin to feel confident and start eating again. and find myself in the same mindset, even with the band. I go for a 3 month check up tomorrow, with the doctor that gave me my final clearance and then my 2nd fill on Thursday. I know I am not being true to my lapband and trying to get that last bite in.... I fine myself snacking all day, even though it is appropriate foods it is too often.... any suggestions??
  10. I feel like I have hit a "mental wall". Keep finding myself eating things I shouldn'e... feel like I do with any diet before.... hit a great loss and then try to sabotogue myself. Hve seen myself increase my calories by 600 in the past week. But I do get out end exercise at least 5 times a week. Trying hard to get back on track. Have my 3 month follow up tomorow and see how I am doing in their eyes. Then a second fill on Thursday.. Hope things change for the better and I get myself back on track. Continue to have a great weekend...
  11. just be grateful that you have lready gone through all the pre-op and they were covered. Could you imagine getting through with everything and then having insurance change just before surgery date :w00t: Worth a try to investigate the transition of care. Need and want to get your fill, I am sure..
  12. here are a few things to remember when you get new insurance. I deal with these issues on a daily basis. Any pre-existing clause has a possibility of being waived, talk with your benefit/hr person and see. usually as long as the company you work for changes the policy coverage you can get the pre-existing waived.. there may also be a transition of care coverage.. this will usually cover up to 90 days of services with a DR that is not on the new coverage. so you can get a little extra time to find another Dr for your fills again, best bet is to call the insurance company and check with the benefits/hr dept at work.. good luck
  13. I too have days of struggling. But luckily I am able to get back on track, usually. It is nice to know there will be some support groups for anytime there are those struggles.
  14. poi or no poi, heck I just want to go to Hawaii... I go for my 2nd fill next week. The little bit of restriction i was feeling from my first fill seems to be lessening.
  15. Fenton, I agree, the thought of mushy salmon takes away my appetite.
  16. SADIE thanks for the great post. It really sums up what we ll know and try to remember. You just put it all down on paper..:wink2:
  17. NSV with the pants, truly a great feeling. My pile of clothes for Good Will is growing. I am buying a few new shirts when on sale.. otherwise i look like i am wearing a sack. I am exstatic.. Congrats to all who are showing both NSV and SV Last night i did a short workout at the YMCA. treadmill and recumbant bicycle... boy did I sweat... but felt absolutely great. Tomorrow I meet with the wellness coach and try to get an exercise routine set up. Gotta work on the flapping arms!!!
  18. hey, 366, almost your day :scared2: thinking good thoughts for you.
  19. 366 - bet you are jumping out of your skin, you have been wating for finals to be over. now it is your turn... will be thinking about you.
  20. My DR requires minimum 64 gms of protein per day, for a woman and 70gms for men. will admit I do not always get that much, but do my best to try. All DR have their own guidelines that we are advised to follow. so all we can do is go by what information we are given from them and follow it as best we can. Just look at the variance in the type of pre-op diets we were all on...
  21. i would also say there is a need for a slight unfill. For discomfort to last that long and with just water!!!
  22. love the song and the video...
  23. I was talking to some support group friends that commented they cannot get their protein in..not sure why. I emphsized how much I need to do a daily food journal. I use TheDailyPlate. that way I am accountable for anything and everything I put in my mouth... I mentioned the isopure to them..and some did not even know about it.... but if you are drinking your fluids, why not take in 40gms of protein as you drink. Alsp, I like my protein bars. I usually go for those that have the lowest carbs and highest protein, and I look at the calories too. Atkin Advantage morning bar are my normal breakfast I especially pushed the daily protein amount to one girl, she was complaining about not getting in her daily protein... Hope everyone had a safe and happy Memorial Day!!
  24. when you get to mushies, try some low fat ricotta cheese and either pizza quick sauce or spaghetti sauce..delicious
