Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
I am set for 2nd fill on 7/10. but still have issues with food. lots getting "stuck". Probably eating too fast and not chewing enough. I have been eating more, 2cups per meal...have had to increase my protein to 80-90gms per day..Dr. orders. healing at age 54 was ok. the rather large hernoia repair i had along with the LB surgery, did cause me to have a little longer recovery than others. but all wemt well. I was okay bye DR to return to work after 2 weeks, but stayed home another week by choice.

welcome to onederland, kpod. It does feel great, doesn't it. Enjoy the shopping. I had to buy a few more things today.. I only had 3 pairs of pants that fit for a 5 day work-week. Thank goodness there were major sales going on. $5.99 for Gloria Vanderbilt slacks....can't beat that, and they are size 16!!!!! So ended up with 3 new outfilts for just under $50.. Also, age has hit, I have brusitis in my shoulder, have to take it a bit easy for a few days, no sewimming and Water aerobics!!! Guess my option is lots of walking!

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
never vomitted, just some PB and sliming. Especially the past week and I really don't know why. Chicken is the biggest culprit, but also several types of fish..today I tried a chicken ceasar salad for lunch and had issues with that Will have to discuss with my Dr. on 7/10. probably won't get my fill then. Still on fill #1, 4cc in my 14cc band, and that was on 5/9 :confused2: But weight loss is steady so very happy with that. Now I found out I probably have brusitis in my left shoulder, severe pain, and not being able to take Nsaids i am being given a round of prednisone to hopefully clear up the issue. Also have to take it easy with the water aerobics and swimming for a bit

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Phyl - thanks for the update on Indio. I forgot her trip to Vegas was for labband. I remember her talking about it and was really excited to be going. If the weather there was anything like here, i can understand the turbulence. the stormes on the east coast have been heavy late afternoon today. but I think we are over the worse and now in for a terribly HOT weekend. Heading to the pool in the morning... and for those of you battling the heat and DR says not to go swimming. once my strei-strips were off I was given the go ahead to get in the water or bath. But as with everything else everyone's DR has their own preference and timeline

I have issues with pants fittinf too!! If the waist fits, the legs are way too baggy. I think I have finally found a brand that fits well, at least for now... Shirts, I am able to buy in the misses department, no more Women's dept. it is actualy fun to go out shopping now...

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
not sure if I will ask for my fill on 7/10. I am still having issues with a few types of foods. Today for lunch, I had cod , baked potatoe and cauliflower. the cod did not want to go down , but the other 2 items were fine. MAybe I am one of the lucky ones that can go on with only one fill. It is nice to know that there is alwaysroom to tighten up in the future. Also, I went to my PCP on tuesday, she thinks I may have a hernia. nothing like the one that was repaired during my LB surgery. This is about waist high on my right side. Have to go for a CAT scan next week to find out

Any locals?
glad to see all is going well, 366. I know some people have complained about the wait at the DR office. I have had to wait about 30 minutes. I am scheduled for a fill on 6/10, but have been having lots of issues lately with eating certain types of food. Today for lunch it was cod. it did not want to go down, but at the same time the cauliflower and baked potatoe was fine???

I am looking forward to my beach vacation..Ocean City, Md. I am a beach bum and can't wait to sit on the sand ad read, and also looking forward to my morning walks on the beach and the boardwalk..

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
I have had one fill, 5/9, banded 3/19. luckily i am keeping steady with about a 2# loss per week. but it is a struggle. I am very conscious to record ALL my food intake, keep around 1100 calories today and 80-90 gms protein daily. Exercise at least 5 times a week: water aerobics, walking.. I go back on 6/10 and am going to insist on a fill. so far only 4cc in my 14cc band. I agree, that throwing u water is a sign of your fill being too tight. Did your DR have you drink anything in the office before you left?? Call your DR and please let us all know what they said.

Clothes that fit make for a great NSV. I have bought new pants and shirts. and looking at myself as I walk by a store window, I can actually see the difference. What a boost to the ego I was measured last week and have lost 4 inches in both my waist and hips.. woohoo!!! I actually had a friend call me "slim" the other day.

Thanks for the thumbs up..

No matter where we began our journey and where we are now, we are all a success. Just think of where we would be without the surgery and the tool to help us get healthy . WE are like a team helping each other. We joy in each other's success and encourage each other to be positive and we will all succeed..

wearing a swimsuit is not my favorite, but exercise in the water feels so relaxing and is a great workout. I do have to go out and buy some suits that fit. with the weight loss, the top is too big as well as the butt. so off to the mll to buy one or two that fit!!! Chica - BABY Weight!! my girls are 26 nd 29 and I have been struggling to lose the weight for all these years. ome would come off, then I would gain it and more back. So glad to finally gain some control of the weight loss roller coaster I have been on for so many years.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Today is my weigh in day. I refuse to let myself get on the scale except once a week, unless I am at the DR. loooking forward to being below 200#, maybe today I will be there. I do know that the band is only a tool and that I am the one responsible for using it to it's full potential. I have been on Atkins, South Beach, Weight Watchers..and lost weight but never kept it off for more than a year. I know now that I have the tool to use I am going to succeed. I know there are timnes I will most likely "slip", but am determined to make the losses a permanent part of my life. Like the rest of us, we have worked too hard to get to this point and to not use the tools we have chosen is our own decision. My decision is to use it to it's fullest and be consiencious and totally aware that I am the one doing the work and anything that I eat is my choice..and if I don't get out and exercise no one to blame but myself. I am so happy to have the support of this group and all the responses to everyone's posts. the information is invaluable to success

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
I have not just not eaten a meal in the 3 months I have been banded. This weekend I had one day of wanting to eat everything in sight. It was hard to keep my intake under control. WW, is always changing their plans. Over the years I have used at least 4 different plans, points, calories, exchanges or any combination. I would lose weight with the program, but BANG, back it all came after awhile. I know the band will be there to keep me in check and remind me that the weight will not return.. Last day of vacation for me and I think I am running around all day. I am getting in my water aerobics first thing this morning..get my body invigorated and ready to go for the day!

gotta get myself back on track. I tried to log my foods while away for 5 days. I did try to eat all the right things....well, except for the 3 glasses of wine last night :crying: but I still stayed within my calorie count for the day and got my exercise in.. so it pretty much all balanced itself out I am anxious to get to work on Wednesday, if only to weigh in. being so close to Onederland, I want to see if I made it with being away for 5 days.. and after talking with the DR on Friday i am goign to look into dropping the rest of my meds.. my BP is great, my cholesterol is so improving, and i have already stopped my Nexium.. the pharmacy won't kbow what to do not seeing me in every month for those 6 or 7 prescriptions, and the money I am going to save!! that will help make my car payment... did I tell you I treated myself to a new vehicle.. I call it Lynn's toy :thumbup:
