Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
I can eat toast, but not realy soft bread. I have had a few bites of a roll with a burger, but not too much. Gets a bit gooey and can get stuck. same with pasta, rice. but then there are some people that have not trouble with bread, past or rice. kind of like coffe--i was told no caffiene, but asked my DR and she said if it does not bother you than go right ahead... so now I enjoy my morning coffee with low fat creamer and splenda..

Any locals?
The fill went great. felt fine all night and all day Friday, liquids only. Lisa and I went out Friday night and when I got home I was famished, so I ate the meat from an Arby's sandwich. MISTAKE.. I felt like I was stomped on my chest for a few hours. couldmn't even sleep. then this morning i took some water with my meds and within 5 inutes it was back up. I was a bit panicy. I have never had issues with liquid..so was very careful afterwards, had some coffee a bit later and it went down very slowly, I think the warmth of the coffee helped loosen the band temporarily. So now eating mushies, very carefully. So hope it helps. I was amazed that 1cc added made such a difference in restriction. but greatful that it has. I just have to remember to be careful and watch my bite size, chewing and eat slow.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
I am so anxious to try a Wii Fit. if for nothing else to get my xercise age/actual age.....maybe I'll try to find one for my daughter for xmas, she has the Wii I had fill #2 in Thusrday. now at 5cc in my 14cc band. Thought all was ok. had my liquids until today. but this morning I could not even swallow 1/2 cup of water. I gasped and eventually threw it back up.. yuck. Was extrememly careful, only liquids all day and so far feel bette, but do see a difference in my ability to drink too fast. So I guess this 1cc has givenme a new boost to restriction

It is amazing how must we seem to turn to food when we are in an emotional situation.. I know things were tough and stressful. I lost my sister suddly and did not get those last days with her and miss that. It is peaceful to know you and your family were gathered around to help each other through the tough times. Don't beat yourself up about 3#.... Think of it as a little bump.. and imagine w it may have been before banding.....

It is well worth it though, best decisionmy life tomorrow I go in for my 2nd fill.... yippee

March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD
most definitely, writing what I eat down is so important. even if I am not near my computer for TheDailyPlate site I will lof on a spreadsheet or just a pad of paper. being accountable for what you put into your mouth is up to you and I do find that actually seeing it in writing is the best "kick in th pants" I can see. And if I see I have had trouble with losing i can go back and see whay I ahd that week before and hopefully be able to see my errors in judgement!!!! THis week I did not lose at all. Stayed the dame as last weeks weigh in. but this is the first time since surgery, 3/19/08, that I have not lost anything. So glad to know I am going in for a fill tomorrow..

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
I would be lost without a food diary. At first I did it by hand, but then found MyDailyPlate. What a lifesaver. This site has been so beneficial to my wright loss. I find I take in between 1000-1500 calories on most days and my protein amount is 80-90gms, yesterday it was 108gms. Tomorrow I go for what I hope is my 2nd fill. Too many snacking events lately and I am eating more at each meal..... Had a tough time with rice pilaf over the weeknd. I will let that stay on my plate next time. the chest pain lasted for a few hours.. I had severe acid reflux before surgery, but nothing since. I have given my nexium away and so happy to be rid of another medication..

Any locals?
hey, what are exercise buddies all about. fun, workout, laugh and succeed..and tomorrow night we will be at it again

Any locals?
caelyn - the best way to keep on an exercise routine is to have an exercise buddy, someone to keep you up and going and "make" you get out there even when you really don't want to. Variety is good too: walking, water aerobics, swimming.. Seeting aside a block of time for this is also a plus. that way you cannot say to yourself, that you didn't have time

Any locals?
Hope - sorry you are having so many issues. I know we all hope for the best results with the surgery and how we work the tool afterwards. Cae - the numerous clearances are helpful. For the CHRIAS DR as well as yourself. You can go into the surgery knowing that you are as healthy as possible before you begin the weight loss, lifestyle changes I go on 7/10 for what will be my 2nd fill. I hope. I am eating too much this past week and do not even feel like stopping. As well as I am still eating way too fast..UGH!!!!

Rugman - yup a few days of liquid, then mushy and regular, but after a fill I hope not to be such a glutten as I was last night at dinner. The study you are in for the "fat" measurement, what a great thing. Being in a study helps you and the ones conducting it. a double plus for all

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Indio - I started at the same point as you, I am a little shorter, but otherwise the same. I originally made my goal at 175, but as I have lost I have moved it to 145-150. I am halfway there. After what I ate tonight I do hope for a fill on Thursday. I went out to dinner and ae lobster, bked potatoe, spinach dip w/ chips and could still have eaten more..... I did not feel full at all...

March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD
Rugman - my 2nd fill is set for Thursday also.and I need it. I went to dinner tongiht and was able to eat 6 oz of lobster, some lobster artichoke dip with totilla chips and a baked potatoe.... and still had not feeling of restriction. After counting my calories i was over my daily allotment by about 400, so that was not too bad. but I have not eaten that much at one time since a few weeks before being banded.

Beverly - I agree, I get up in the morning nd first thing when I get home from work, I turn on computer and check out the thread Denise- I am also on dating sites and take things as they come, I have met some great individuals, but like you, want to find someone, but not going to sweat over it. I have been divorced since 1998. My time will come....

March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD
after mt last post I went to the grocery store, And I actually put in 3 muskater bars and twix bars in my cart  Before check-out I did remove them and felt good I used my brain and not my stomach to make the choice. But yes, I did resupply my ice cream favorites, along with my fresh fruit. :frown:  So my mind set is still improving, and I know it will continue.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Susie - I see you are north of Boston, where abouts?? Long - I am hoping for my 2nd fill on Thursday. I also see my quantities increase, and this weekend I was "uncontrollable", and am angry with myself for leting it happen! Have to get back on track tomorrow.. Will push for a fill on Thursday and hope to get it. I know my issues with certain foods seem to be more my issues of eating too fast, and not chewing. but I cannot complain with a 2# average weight loss per week.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
I get whey protein powder at GNC, vanilla is my favorite, I have tried the orange creme and the mixed berry. Walmart also has whey prtein and it gives you 26gm of protein per serving.. I will usally add some frozen fruit and blend it all together. Like a smoothie. I like the UNJURY chocolate too.. There are so many different flavors and types out there it is a personal preference. I do buy the pre measured packets from Health Wise..they are great to take along for a day trip and add to your water.
