  2. Hey everybody! I'm 23 years old and from the GREAT state of Texas. Here are my stats. 350- Highest weight May 2016 342-Weight at consultation June 2016 336- 08/16/2016 pre op diet start 309- Surgery date 8/23/16 299- 8-31-2016 1 week post op. I'm down 51 pounds from my highest weight and under 300 for the first time in about 4 years. As far as surgery goes I had my surgery by Dr. Roberts in Dallas Tx. I had the VSG around noon and was moved into recovery for about 4 hours then sent home. The first week was a lot of gas pain but by day 5 it finally left! I haven't cheated on my diet one time and don't plan on it however I've noticed my surgeons guidelines are extreme compared to others I won't be on puréed until my 4th week and regular food until my 8th week.. 3. My surgery was 8-23-16. Here are my stats HW-350 pre-op diet-336 DOS-308 1 month post op-280. Goal-210 70 total pounds lost 38 since date of surgery. YOU CAN DO IT! It's been a long ride from 350 to 280 I'm happy that I made this choice to change my life and extend it! If you are considering the surgery I highly recommend it! It's life changing! This is all about you and how bad you want to change! The first week was a little rough but worth it in the long run. My biggest tip would be don't cheat if you want results! Also Water water water... unfortunately I ended up in the ER on my first day back at work! Granted I work on the railroad in Texas and I'm consuming double the recommended value.. you've got to know what your body is going to be doing and account for that! Other than that I haven't had anything bad happen! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    African American Sleevers

I was sleeved on 8-23-2016 and I'm almost a month out. I was tired for the first couple weeks until I got to the part where I could eat more like they said once you start getting more calories in I think it will help you. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Well good luck I'm sure it will get easier for you sooner than later. My post op second appointment is this week and I'm going to ask if I can step up to mushed foods instead of another week of liquids lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    NSV shout outs

Nsv for me was going back to my hometown yesterday I'm only 12 days out but down about 50-60 from my all time high. Everywhere I went people told me how good I looked and how proud of me they were. It felt awesome and was motivating! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I was sleeved on 8-23-16. When do you start mushy foods? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I was on clear the first week and I barely got 20 grams a day in it was so nasty. I've been drinking the premier protien drinks this week and getting 60 grams a day in. Wish I would have gotten the unflavored powder to add to creamed Soup and oatmeal this week. But these drinks are still awesome in flavor and small enough to get down Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Heck, my dr seems to be harder than anyone else. His is 3 weeks everything. And a 14 day fast. Ive seen some people didnt have to fast, ive seen 10 days, but hardly no 14 day. Im going to have to lock myself in a closet when i start this fast in a couple of weeks. Did anyone have a feast before fasting? I wanna go to my favorite restaurant and eat and have a couple of martinis, and have a devilish dessert. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App I had a steak night and a beer the day before I started my pre-op diet. I wish it woulda been tacos lol. I think it's productive to get that last meal in before changing your life but with that being said don't eat something so terrible it's gonna take a week or two to work off. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Glad to know its not only me. What stage are you now? Pre or post op? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Thank y'all! For the kinds words It's was just time for a change. Hit my low (high weight) and I'm never looking back. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. See my diet it similar if not the same as yours and I'm 23 young and was released same day from hospital. I also am thinking about starting puréed food on the 3rd week and I just don't see how it could be a problem when these other people are going wild lol. I haven't cheated one but since my pre op diet. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    BCBS requirements

Yeah I live in Texas but have bcbs of IL and was able to be sleeved within about two months of looking into it. I didn't have to be monitored on a diet just a few small steps. Also depends on your job they sign up for specific groups of coverage with different requirements. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    gas pain

I was sleeved on 8-23 and I had the pains for about 5 days. I was walking .5 miles at a time and I felt like the more walking the better. Also my surgeon recommended a warm beverage in the morning and that seemed to get everything moving for me. Either broth or Skim milk was my choices Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Ahh man! I'm so jealous of everyone's diet I feel like mine is to cautious! Post op Weeks 1 clear Weeks 2-3 full liquids Weeks 3,4,5 of puree Then regular food.
