    I am scheduled for May

In answer to those who are wondering why May not be the month for me, I have finally found someone with experience trying to use WW as part of their 6-month supervised diet (link to thread below). http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f8/bcbs-al-6-month-diet-question-54640/ Basically, though, I am going to keep my chin(s) :cursing: up and STILL file it and see what happens. I figure it could be worse...I could have insurance that doesn't cover it at all. *SIGH* Thanks for your prayers, though, I will sure take 'em!! :tt1: Oh, and, of course, until I find out for sure, I will be checking in with you all and letting you know of my progress!!

    Miscarriage

Magdalene, I do not have experience with the band and pregnancy but I do have experience with miscarriage. I am a mother to 4 beautiful children but the heartbreak of a miscarriage is something you never forget, no matter how early it occurred. My reproductive endocrinologist was very helpful, though, in that he said maybe this was the body's way of preparing it for the next pregnancy which would be successful. I hardly see how after doing the hard work of losing all the weight you have lost that you won't be successful. Anyway, he likened the whole experience to an acorn (sounds corny but stay with me!) Not every acorn becomes a tree --- some the squirrel gets --- some never grow --- yet others grow into a beautiful tree Maybe that was your body's trial run and you'll be successful this very next time. The one thing you can be thankful for is that it occurred early so you shouldn't have a "waiting period" before you can try again next month. That is what happened to me... I miscarried the 1 month and then was pregnant the next. You are in my thoughts... :scared2:
  3. It's up to you guys whether you want to repoll or not... I just thought it might be more fair for the other people who didn't vote for May Flowers....since the results are so spread out after that. I'm feeling like the May thing may not happen for me so I'm not going to exert my opinion too much here. However, if you DO want me to, I will post the other poll immediately after midnight with the top 3 (I work at night). Just let me know.....:scared2:
  4. Hi All, I am trying to figure out every way possible to get this surgery ASAP so here is the deal... I started seeing my physician in October but I had been attending Weight Watchers WEEKLY since April, with september being my last month. Do you think there is a way to get them to use that as my supervised diet if I had my physician verify that I was on a diet plan???? It really just hit me that I had done it for the 6 months prior to starting with my physician. Anyway, if you have any ideas, suggestions, general knowledge about it, I would certainly appreciate it!!!

The 6-month supervised "diet" really isn't a diet at all...like most people, the doctor is not so concerned with me losing any weight, more of a maintenance type thing, which as a general rule I don't have a problem with. For example: I have been the same weight for over a year and a half with only TOM fluctuations. When I saw my OB/GYN last month for my yearly, when he discovered I was put on Lexapro, he made a point of telling me it was not one he would have chosen because of the side effect of weight gain. So, anyway.. I would have to concur that it did have that effect on me. Prior to that, I was on Zoloft for 5 years and, as I said, since starting on Lexapro in October, I have had the 20-pound weight gain. BTW all January bandsters, Didn't mean to hijack your thread!
  6. I am going to make one more suggestion, if I MAY... (pun intended, bad joke, I know!) After we get the results from this poll, I think it would really be more fair if we took the top 3 and then voted on them. We don't HAVE to but it just seems that other than May Flowers the rest are pretty spread out and if there is anyone on here who just doesn't like the flowers thing then they are out of luck. At least, if it was narrowed down to 3, there would be a better chance of it being a "fair" poll. I guess I would liken it to the presidency... they only let us choose from 2 in the end... BUT that's just my 2-cents

    Somebody Stop Me!

Hello all, I posted this tread in the pre-op forum but didn't get a lot of response, i.e. as far as from those who had to follow the 6-month supervised diet and if they gained and IF they still approved them. Just wondered if any of you had any experience with this... if you don't mind taking a look!! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f84/weight-gain-6-morbid-obesity-supervised-diet-56652/ I appreciate your input!

Hello all, I posted this tread in the pre-op forum but didn't get response from any that had already been banded. Just wondered if any of you had any experience with this... if you don't mind taking a look!! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f84/weight-gain-6-morbid-obesity-supervised-diet-56652/ I appreciate your input!
  9. Well, long story short. I started my diet in October. I also started Lexapro in October. As of yesterday, I have officially gained 20 pounds since October. Anyone see a connection?? Unfortunately, I cannot even credit the Lexapro with making me feel better as it is not...I am SO depressed right now. Is it even possible insurance will think about approving me with weight gain on the 6-month supervised diet??? :scared2:

Weight GAIN on 6-mo supervised diet

I appreciate both of your responses. This whole hoops thing is starting to get to me, as well as needing an antidepressant that actually WORKS. *sigh* :scared2: I was just hoping someone out there who already has the LB would indicate if they gained weight during the 6-month period and if it affected their ability to be approved. Thanks again!

    BCBS Alabama Coverage

Mayo, I have BCBS Alabama but, unfortunately, don't know the answer to your question. Have you tried posting in the Alabama forum? Maybe someone will have an answer for you soon! :confused2:

    Satisfied, while DH isn't.

That's that "man" black-and-white philosophy kicking in. EXAMPLE: I may be having a down day, might be shedding some tears..he asks what is wrong so I tell him and then he starts trying to tell me what to do to fix it. This infuriates me!! Most times I know how to fix it but I need to cry through it first (anyone know what I'm talking about here? Man, I sure hope so, otherwise, I sound like a weirdo!!) So, sounds like to me, he really thinks that is what YOU want and he is just trying to get you there. Men, gotta love 'em!!
  13. Nesser, you are way more patient than me. I needed records from my old PCP and after 2 weeks of calling the medical records department, then the office manager, then the medical records department every other day, I showed up in person on Thursday of last week, and I picked up records yesterday. I'm sorry but I just don't see myself sitting around waiting for them to remember me... but I'm a bitch that way!

All you people do is complain...

Looks like she did QUITE a bit more editing...note the "complaints" she didn't want to hear and the bottom of the note where she claims she'll never come here again. (Does anyone else hear soap opera theme music?) :tt2: Good riddance, I mean, See ya later

    I am scheduled for May

I actually like the 2nd one the best...I'm a "KISS" girl, though, and like to keep it simple!
  16. When are you going to close out the poll BB? Also, everyone, I finally figured out how to post the logos I came up with so take a look when you get a chance.

    I am scheduled for May

These were the ideas I came up with the other night and I just figured out how to get them into this thread. I had the same thought as Caterpillarfly about adding our pics but that's only if anyone likes/wants to use either of these. No hurt feelings if you prefer the other, though, just giving options.
  18. Alright all you WLS vets... and you KNOW who you are. Even if you haven't gotten to goal yet, if you've lost a significant amount of weight (especially those of 100 pounds or more), I want to know what kind of band you have. AND...I'm not above naming names so give me the goods, or ELSE...

    I am scheduled for May

Actually, I have seen one dude who has his...he is a victorious valentine but that's all I remember! LOL :cheers2: I have come up with a couple of logos as well but I'm still trying to figure out how to post them in the thread. I am going to try...we'll see what happens. Oh, and by the way, these are not necessarily the names we have to go with, they can be changed to reflect whatever name we decide upon.

    I am scheduled for May

One more thing....if they don't get all my crap together and get me approved to have surgery in May, it is really, really, REALLY going to SUCK!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously.

    Only one more time

Oh Nanajo, you made me cry. Man, what a trip down memory lane. It's truly sad what we have to go through, isn't it? That's alright, though, because you're doing what really matters and even though he may not ever know what you are enduring to see him, you have got to be ONE GREAT NANA!
  23. Tom, I just had to check in and see how you were doing! I am so proud of you for skipping the steak...(I want to cheat and think I will!) Bet that seems like an eternity ago now. So how is postop day 4?
  24. Southern Missy

    I am scheduled for May

Scanning through the previous posts, these are the names we have come up with so far. I think it would be a great idea for us all to choose our top 1 or 2 and then post the poll based on maybe 3 or 4 of them. It tends to get sticky when you have this many to choose from. 1. May Miracles 2. May Flowers 3. Magnificient Mays 4. BBB: Blooming Bandster Buddies 5. A-May-zing bandits 6. Mighty Mays 7. Minimizing Mays 8. May Minimizers 9. Memorable Mays 10. Marvelous Mays 11. Marvelous MAY Minimizers 12. Success MAYkers 13. Future PlaMAYtes 14. May Late Bloomers 15. a-MAY-zing Miracles Alright everybody, let's get down to BUSINESS!!
