  1. Excuse me.....I'm not harping on anyone. I was simply stating that the approval system is a bit twisted. I am completely happy that my cousin is getting the surgery as she needs it for her health. You want to be negative or *ship* anyone who decides to post negativity then hop off my post. I made a statement about MY insurance. Did I say Medicaid recipients shouldn't get the surgery? No. take a step back. Thanks Furthermore, if you are one of those Medicaid recipients then I apologize if I offended you. I'm the last to judge. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Looking for August sleevers

Sleeved 8/25 Hw 247 Sw 240 Cw 203 Almost to that ONEderland!!! Have been stalled for over a week. Of course it would happen right before getting out of the 200's. Lol. Feeling great. Need to exercise more but time is a huge issue for me. I take 30g of GENEPRO daily and try to get the rest of my Protein in with solid food. If for some reason I don't, then I'll take more genepro in the evening. I work nights (5pm-5am) so my schedule is a nightmare and I think it adds to my slow weight loss. But hey, I'm 44 lbs lighter than I was 2 months ago, so I'm happy! Oh, hair loss has started. Not pleased with that part. Luckily I have very long thick hair. I hope it doesn't continue too long. I do notice a couple areas it is thinning. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Just downloaded my fitness pal. Love it so far!! Thanks all Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. So post surgery I am just not liking meat. I've tried everything. Can't do it. Tomatoes, lettuce, olives, pickles,.......veggies, just veggies in general is what I crave. Any vegetarians out there wish to share your plan with me? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I would not do the sausage. You will regret it. It is probably even too early for eggs. You may feel healed but you are far from it! Many things could go wrong. Furthermore the first solid food you try should not be sausage. Progress through the stages. If you have not done the puréed stage yet (and at 8 days post op, you shouldn't have) then you gotta got that stage first. You will not tolerate food as you did pre op. Things you love will make you miserable. Things you loved you may hate now. Take it slow. This is a marathon, not a race yada yada yada. If you weren't given a post op diet (shame on your surgeon and NUT) then there are many diet plans online for post sleeve. Take it easy or you could develop life threatening complications. I slept on my back kind of hitched to one side. Used many pillows. Post op pain meds helped me sleep also. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I have a question for those further along than me. Earlier out, I could eat more. Even up to and past 6 weeks. But it seems the further I am out, the less I can eat before I feel resistance. I am now a little over 2 months out. Just wondering if this is abnormal thing? Is it just that my stomach is healing and the nerves are getting the feeling back? I mean, I'm not complaining. Just curious Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. I told my husband only. I have 3 teenagers at home and didn't even tell them. With the sleeve the weight loss is not questionably rapid. I've lost 50 lbs in 2 months and nobody has questioned me. They see that I eat healthy and that I go walk during lunch. I work 7 days on and 7 days off so I took a week after surgery and nobody noticed since it was my normal 7 days off. As for family that knew I was in the hospital, it was because I had a hernia surgery. Which isn't a lie. We have a biggest loser game at work where you win money that I was ROCKING but dropped out because I felt like I was cheating since nobody was aware of my surgery. I just told them I had a lot going on and didn't have time to drive up there for weigh ins and stuff. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Less and less food

Anything I eat, i now eat less of. Also, probably totally unrelated, I turn my nose up at ANY kind of meat. I just don't like it. I crave salad and veggies. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. So I had to go out of town for work for 4 days. I forgot my Protein at home and with meeting after meeting didn't have much time to eat, let alone find a GNC for more protein. I had the free hotel Breakfast (which id just grab a yogurt) and then one more meal after that for the day. So I really was getting less than 20g of protein a day. Before leaving for out of town I was on a long streak where I was losing a pound a day and I was THRILLED. I just couldn't wait to get home and weigh myself. Well, when I got home I had GAINED a pound. I couldn't believe my eyes. I ate healthy, didn't eat much of anything, drank tons of Water. only thing i did different is that I didn't take my protein supplement. So there ya are folks. It IS important. I was so embarrassed. He was like "dang, u need to eat something" lol. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  19. Ok no questions, just venting and since my surgery is a secret, this is the only place I can do that. Today was the first day I went to my local gym. It was too cold to walk outside so I went to do my 2 miles on the treadmill. All of the treadmills are against the wall where your backside is facing the entire gym. Then any machine anyone else uses they have their face pointed right at my rear end. I don't know if it was just me being self conscious or if people really were staring. I could feel it. Everyone in there was super fit except me and one older gentleman that was on the bicycle. As I was leaving a group of 4 ladies, varying in size but around my size showed up and by then, they were the only ones in the gym. Everyone else had left. If I hadn't already been humiliated, I would have introduced myself in hopes of "gym buddies". I went at 6:30 and left around 8 so maybe I just need to start going later. Or maybe, I'm being my old obsessive self again and nobody was really judging me. I felt like I could feel my ass jiggling with every step. I felt like I was sweating more than I should and they all noticed. I felt like I was breathing more rapid that I should have been and they noticed that too. I tried to turn my iPod on full blast to drown out the thoughts but it didn't work. I know I'm too hard on myself. I planned to stay and do some more after the treadmill but my spirit was broken. I did however finish my 2 miles on a steep elevation. I was determined to do that. But just kinda left after that. It took a lot for me to even walk in there. So, I'm discouraged.......again Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. If only I had the room for it. My son is due to leave for the marines in July. I plan to put some exercise stuff in his room when he does. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  22. all we have is snap fitness in our small town. It's what you refer to as a "meat market" lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Very encouraging story. Thank you for sharing Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Furthermore, I WISH we had more of a variety. Since snap is out only gym for miles and miles, they have zero competition and charge $50 a month. Extra fee for yoga room, tanning, etc. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
