    Hair Issues

Mine is falling out by the handful. I'm convinced I'm going to be bald. I've heard that no matter what u do or what u take, it won't stop or lessen the loss. I had my surgery one week after you. What was your starting weight? Great job on the huge loss!!!! I'm jealous. Lol. I am about 25lbs behind you as far as loss. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. However, I am in no way suggesting you push yourself. Your body needs that sleep and rest to heal and get stronger. Make sure to add a little activity though. Even if it's doing a couple trips up and down ur hallway. It will help your stamina Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I was so tired for the first week at least, I had no idea how I was going to return to work as scheduled bc I couldn't hold my eyes open for more than a few hours. I had no choice but to return because since I'm a secret sleever, I didn't know what to tell them if I took time off. (I have a set schedule. I work 7 days on and then am off 7 days.) so I recovered for my 7 days off. Anyway, I made it and the pushing myself to get up and getting working, helped a lot. Itching all over body

For the first couple weeks i had a very itchy rash. EVERYWHERE! Most intense areas were my abdomen and breasts. Hang in there, it goes away. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. My cousin is on government assistance. She has Medicaid and it took her 2 months from her first visit to surgery date! This frustrated me because I battled my insurance company for a damn year! Insurance that I pay $200 a month for and have paid them for 10 years and rarely used! I am all about everyone being allowed to get healthy but why is it so hard for us to get approved and others get it, no questions asked, FOR FREE? Sorry, just venting. I've had my surgery and all is well. But I will not soon forget all of the ups and downs of going through my insurance. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. BCBS from what state bcbs of tx for example is 6 months of prior documented treatment. or at least was almost 2 years ago BCBSIL Also almost all insurance has changed, if you are super morbidly obese like I was, with a BMI of 60, there is no waiting period. Someone with that BMI is basically never going to lose weight on their own and insurance companies know it. There was a cost benefit analysis in the insurance industry that showed the benefits of bariatric surgery to their bottom line. Good to know. Her BMI is over 65. She is having surgery the 9th of this month and for the record, I couldn't be happy for her. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Sorry if this has been asked in the past. What apps does everyone use for tracking carbs, calories, Protein, weight loss etc.? Is there one single app out there where I can track it all? Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Stall is killing me

I stall once monthly. For the last 3 months it's been right on schedule. Starts the first of the month and lasts till mid month. It's frustrating as hell but every month it picks right up and I loose 15 or so lbs the last 2 weeks of the month. Don't worry, you will start losing again too. 11. My NUT suggested a snack food that she had recently tried and I have to say, when I get a knack for chips these are fantastic!!! Also, a good source of Protein and no carbs or sugar! By the way, I found mine at Walmart near the imported cheeses. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Yummy snack

I limit myself to one serving which is 100 calories. When I buy the bag, I immediately break it into servings in zip locks for a grab and go to throw in my lunch box for work Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Yes! Same Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  14. I won't block you but I do mean what I said. That is exactly how you and that other girl made me feel and I know that you know that. Perhaps some of us are just kinder when we speak to those who are stuggling, I don't know. It was hard to pick up on your concern and easy to pick up on the ridicule. Anyway, thanks for the goodluck. Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App Don't sweat it. Take it as a lesson learned and move on. Also, don't sweat the rudeness you will seen on this site. I do not know how long you have been on the site but you will learn very quickly that there are about 3-4 people who only comment of people's threads to create drama. I do not know what they are lacking in their personal life to want to do this, but it's sad. I feel sorry for them. I do not answer to them, I do not pay them no mind. You should do the same. Btw, pudding was allowed on my plan, a week out as well (sugar free of course). Sure this site is for honest feedback but there is a proper way to give it without the person feeling belittled or like a failure. The girl admitted that she knew she messed up so why continue to rub it in her face that she did? Does that make you feel like the cool kid on the play ground? Perhaps, she wanted to unload the guilt she was feeling and get it off her chest but was ashamed and didn't want to talk to anyone she knew. It's much easier to admit mistakes to a group of people that you don't know. Perhaps, like me, she had this WILD idea that people in an advice/support forum might actually be supportive. Smh. Also, who are y'all to question what her doc says she can have and who are you to question why she posted what she did? You are just a member of a group, in no greater capacity than any one of us. Catty people are the worst. It's the holiday season! don't be so miserable. Be jolly With that said, I too am a medical professional and I do think you should mention it to your surgeon for sure. If you feel fine and have no pain or vomiting then wait until your next visit, but do mention it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Gustavio, you're comment means the world to me. I really felt the support coming from you and that really helped me today. Yesturday I was in such a fragile mental state. After reading your comment this morning I felt so much better and really felt like I could learn from this mistake instead of just feeling shame and remorse. Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App You know, I'm glad I could help. I too have been attacked on here by a small group that tend to feed off of each other's negativity. I was offended at first, but quickly found it funny that there was nothing better to do for them. Then just like with you, they tried to pass it off as caring "advice" lol please.....I wasn't born yesterday and don't need sarcastic or backhanded advice or concern. It's childish. Anyway, glad you are feeling better today. Don't be so hard on yourself. It's one day out of your journey. You got this!! Can't wait to see your results in the next few months. 16. Update on my meal from yesterday. Was on a steady loose stage. Losing .5 a pound a day since my stall broke. Now since I ate some carbs yesterday, I gained a half a pound. Wasn't worth it. Hope I am not going to stall again. I was going strong. Anyway, what's done is done. Keep on truckin Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. I am a secret sleever so I filled my plate up like Normal and ate at a slow pace until nobody noticed I'd barely eaten anything. I did eat carbs today. I hope it doesn't throw me into a stall but I thought, the hell with it. I've done so good and will continue to do good. I'm going to eat some of the broccoli and cheddar rice and some hash brown casserole. It was a measly couple bites of each but I do feel a bit guilty. I skipped dessert as I had NO ROOM! I planned on eating a sliver of pumpkin pie but didn't. My niece is due to get sleeved and RNY on the 8th of Dec. so today was the first day of her liquid diet! I felt really bad for her. She is around 360+ pounds and was literally starving looking at the tables and tables of food and cakes and pies. Poor thing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Ok embrace the stall, done It. Been reassuring myself daily for the last, ohhhhh I dunno, 3 weeks? I went on a work trip the 25-28 of last month and gained 2 lbs. I don't know how, I ate right and didn't drink with even though everyone else did. But the worst part is that I haven't lost a single pound since!!! I am only 2.5 months post op! This should be my honeymoon period right? Someone tell me their story or similar experience. I need to hear some good news so I can have some reassurance that I'm not stuck at this weight forever. I know it's ridiculous to think that like but I'm sure everyone has had their discouraging and depressed days throughout this journey and just needed a little reassurance. P.s when I left for my trip I was 3 lbs from ONEderland. So I fully expected to be under 200 when I came home. I about cried when my scale said 205. I DID cry this morning when my scale, once again said 205. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. Curious as to how you're going? Did your stall finally break? I'm 7 weeks post op and I've been stalled for 4 weeks. Everyone keeps telling me it'll start to come off again but I'm beginning to doubt it will. Tell me some good news. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Ugh, finally my stall broke 6 days ago and I have lost 9 pounds in the past 6 days. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  21. My fitness pal app is free and it will track your food, Protein, carbs, activity, weight loss etc. it has many restaurants items in there if you eat out. I've not found a single thing I've eaten to NOT be in the data base. Once you put the item in, it automatically knows and inputs your calorie, protein and carb count. It is really awesome for accountability. I also use an app to track my daily weight and on the days I don't lose or maybe gain a pound, I'll go back to my fitness pal and see what I ate and what I can change. Worried about not losing weight

You are doing nothing wrong. STALLS are frustrating to say the least, but a natural part of the process that is hard to accept but ya may as well throw your hands up and say oh well, stay on track and wait for that stall to break. It will not be your last one. I've had a stall every month so far but just like clockwork, my weight loss starts up again. Be patient. It will happen if you are doing everything right.
