  3. You are right. I have one free personal trainer appointment. Maybe I will use it and also be introduced to the machines so that I don't feel so intimidated by everything. I made a beeline for the treadmill when I got there because it's all I knew how to work. Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I definitely need a gym buddy. I will feel less exposed and vulnerable Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. I know. I need to keep reminding myself that I don't even know these people so why do I give a crap what they think. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Yes nothing in particular happened. I just assume. I hope I continue to gain confidence and it has been in the dirt the last several years. At one point a group of fit/built men were standing in a circle and I could see them in the mirror. They all started laughing at the same time and I had all but convinced myself that they were laughing at me. Ridiculous I know. I hope tomorrow is warmer so I can walk the lake where I can be alone and in my comfort zone. Lol My husband things I look incredible of course and thinks I'm being dramatic. I know he is right but I can't help how my insecurities make me feel. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. You are probably right. I was in my emotions after I left there because of my own insecurities. I automatically feel judged because I'm judging myself. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  10. In 5 days I will be 2 months post op. There isn't much difference appearance wise but it's enough to keep me motivated. Let's motivate each other and let's see some 2 months before and now pics. See how much progress we have made thus far. Can't wait to do my before and after at 6 months, 8 Months, etc. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  12. Huge difference! Great progress. It's amazing how much younger someone looks when a little weight falls off. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Aww thanks. I guess it's harder to notice on yourself. I'm my own worst critic. Lol. I notice a little bit. Like, I see that the love handles are smaller and the extra chin has shrunk a bit. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  15. So i don't know if I'm where I'm suppose to be but I'm definitely pleased with my loss, energy level and the way my clothes fit. I feel like I'm losing too slowly but the scale continues to move down and that makes me optimistic for the future. I will be 2 months post op on October 25th. (Hoping to be down 40 lbs by then) anyway, I do like this app for tracking of weight loss. But it doesn't offer many options. Anyone have suggestions of apps that you use to track loss and perhaps activity? I'm thinking of getting an iwatch or Fitbit but am afraid I just won't use it much. 16. Ok, so my high school reunion is the last week of October and that will put me at 2 months post op. I have a large group of girlfriends from high school that I get together with annually for a girls trip and we always have lots of drinks and fun together. At our 10 and 15 year reunion, we partied until 3-4 am. They will all be attending our class reunion of course. With all that being said, my surgery is a secret. How should I handle this reunion? Is it ok for me to have a couple? (I drink either wine, margaritas or jack and Water with lemon.) has anyone drank so soon post op? What was your experience with it? My doctor didn't give me any direction on alcohol but I've seen posts that say you aren't really suppose to. I never know what to believe due to so many conflicting stories about post op habits, diets, etc. I really have no desire to drink anything at this point. (That may change when I see all my BFF's getting tipsy) So anyone have any good excuses they have used to keep from drinking and also keep the surgery hush hush? I've contemplated just staying home pretending to be sick but I have been looking forward to this since my 15 year reunion! Lol. I rarely rarely drink, in fact, our annual girls cruise is generally the only time I drink all year. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    No goal weight.

I set a couple short goals at a time. Easier to stay focused and attain them. For instance, by oct 25th I want to have lost 40 lbs total (3 more lbs to reach this one!). By Nov 15 I want to be below 200. (I have 10 lbs to go!) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. Absolutely! Every time I'm in any kind of verbal altercation it seems that people resort to "you fat _____". It bothered me. I'm very sensitive about my size. I have not always been this size. I gained ALL my weight after my dad passed and while I was in nursing school doing nothing but studying and eating. Before that I was was 120 lbs soaking wet, all my life. It seems as if you let someone know it pisses you off or bothers you, they will use it again and again. Recently, this girl attacked me on a Facebook selling site because I decided I'd pass on something I'd planned to buy after reviewing close up pictures and seeing many flaws. So my halfway joking response to her was "I wouldn't give you a half eaten snickers bar for that dresser, it's badly damaged" so, she came back with "by the looks of your profile pic, you have not ever left a half a snicker bar" (good come back, I know) I was hurt and embarrassed by her post and got defensive. Typed out a long ignorant response. Reread it before I sent it and then said "no, I'm not going to continue this and give people something to read" so I just said "whoa, hey there, the camera adds 10 pounds. Haven't you heard?" So even though that told her that I was Unphased by her comment I desperately wanted her to delete the whole thread before anyone seen it. She ended up deleting it. Thank god. Realizing that me dismissing her meanness made her look stupid. Words hurt. I use to be that mean girl calling people names like that. I feel like I got my karma by gaining so much weight. I will never be like that again. I teach my kids the same everyday. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    High school reunion

Thanks. I'm totally fine with not drinking. I very seldom drink anyway. I just wasn't given direction on drinking post op so I was asking for everyone's input or experience with it. Searched the topic and got many different answers so decided to start my own thread. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Great ideas! Thank you! 24. So, my surgery was nearly 2 months ago but I've had major itching on my abdomen and lower breasts. (Breasts being the most intense) I will scratch until they are raw. Incisions are healed. Skin isn't dry. Anyone else experience this? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
