Riva reacted to KristenLe in How does the sleeve help you to change habits ?
@@lowbmi65 The Sleeve (or Bypass) is only a Tool - it will help you reduce the quantity of foods you can eat, sometimes you may not like the taste of foods you liked before, and you can sometimes get sick from certain foods - but those last 2 aren't something you can count on. Surgery is more mental than it is physical. If you have any eating habits that need to be resolved - I would consider getting some therapy to deal with them - rather than relying on surgery alone. Many have eaten around their sleeve and didn't have long-term success.

Riva got a reaction from Havasumoma in Getting sleeved October 25th!
I was sleeved on 7.19.16 i lost 20 lbs prior to surgery. I started eating smaller portions 5x a day. Each meal was 15 carbs our less carb master yogurt, premier shakes 1-2x a day. And a shake is a meal. It really helps with the liquid diet prior to surgery. My starting weight was 283 at surgery day it was 263 and current weight is 235 Good luck!

Riva got a reaction from ShelterDog64 in 3 months post-op and having trouble with meat :(
I too have issues meat i don't eat meat every day and beef is the worst it's the hardest to digest. There are meat alternatives such as Jack fruit and tofu fixed right it's just like ground or shredded beef.

Riva got a reaction from LisaMergs in I just found PatchMD!
I use the Patches and have 3-4 on in the AM and a different 3 on in the PM. Volfan is right you can't get them wet they are not Water proof. However, here's my take, I can't eat that much without feeling full I didn't want a meal of viatmins if you get my drift. I tried the liquids and there are terrible. So I went to the Patches, I put B12, Multi, and Glucosamin, D3/Calcium on in the morning when I get ready for work, by the end of my work day I go home remove the patches and go excersize, swim, walk, bike ride whatever, I then take my shower and after I towel dry I add my 3 night time patches, anti aging, Omega 3, and sleep starter just above my sholders on my back or I put them in my waist line. I remove the night time ones when I get ready for work. I find that they work very well, I love them because I don't have to swallow anything and you are hopefully getting 100% absorption as opposed to only partial absorption with pills and liquid. I too will have to let my next set of labs be the deciding factor but I feel great and I don't have to worry about pills or liquids.
