    Plateau Help

No, your not eating to much food. Depending on how much you are exercising, you may not be eating enough. I had my stall the 3rd week post-op. It lasted 10 days. Stalls are natural. We're going to experience them frequently during our weight loss. Maybe try only weighing yourself every 3 days or once a week. As long as you are getting your protien and fluid goals, getting some form of exercise then you are doing all you can do. The rest is up to your body.

    Is my sleeve too big

When does the nerves start working again? I'm 5 weeks out and I haven't felt any retriction. I measure my foods. I don't feel hungry after eating. I've had no vomiting like alot of people after they eat.

    Having mixed feelings

I went into this expecting the worst and praying for the best. I had my gallbladder removed a little over 2 yrs before my WLS. It was a horrible experience. I was in so much pain, had nausea, vomiting and was just plain miserable after surgery. I thought long and hard about having WLS. I educated myself as much as I could. I was scared. Surgery is scary. I just KNEW I was going to be in as much pain as I was after removal of gallbladder. I knew it would be worth it. I had my surgery on 2/9. I've had no complications. I wish I was losing weight faster but I did start out at a low bmi. I'm down 44#'s since I started last September. 20#'s since I had surgery. Good luck on your journey.

    Watermelon

Absolutely not on my plan. It has no protien value. It's high in carbs. Your goals are protien and 64oz of fluids.
  8. Did you go every day before surgery? My cycle before surgery was every three days. It took me 7 days after surgery to have a BM. I also took a stool softner daily for three weeks. Every since the first BM I have been going every 3-4 days. I now take a stool softner every other day. My surgeon told me that not to worry about BM the first 2 wks unless I was experiencing pain.
  9. Every bite you put in your mouth right now should always have protien in it. Protien is your goal right now. My plan does not allow any form of veggies until 3 months out. Cottage cheese, Greek Yogurt, soft cheeses. Beans, scrambled eggs. The ricotta bake is to die for. Love it. So easy to make.
  10. Myfitnesspal is a great app for tracking food, carbs, protien and fats. That's how I track my food and liquids. Do you drink caffiene? Smoke? Drink carbonated drinks? If so quit. You do not want to deal with withdrawals after surgery. Anything carbonated should be out of your diet for good. Do you eat breakfast? If not you've got to get in habit of doing that. This was an issue for me. I'm not a morning person. After my first meeting with bariatric team I started drinking a protien shake every morning for breakfast. Post op I make sure I eat something within the first hour after waking. I am past the protien shake stage. Start practicing having no fluids with meals. Eating and drinking together is something that we do unconsciously. It's a big change. The more comfortable you are with doing this pre-op the easier it will be post-op. Measure everything you put in your mouth and track it. Don't fudge on amounts. This will really help you and your nutritionist to figure out your eating patterns and trouble areas. Plus once you are used to measuring or weighing and tracking it becomes a habit. It gets less annoying. For me, I have had no issues with fluids or food so far (I'm 5 wks out). I could easily eat more than I should. I measure everything before eating. I use a very small plate or bowl. Trust me on this. If you use a standard plate and put your 1/4c or 2oz on it you will think. I'm starving. At least it's that way with me. It's all visual because once you eat it you will be full. But it looks so tiny on a big plate. Take tiny bites, put utensil down and chew well. Get 64oz of fluids daily.Gosh I could go on and on. But this is a good start pre-op. Read the forums. I noticed there hasn't been as many posts as there use to be. I started the forum last September. Go back and read archives. Ask lots of questions. Good luck on your journey. Oh and by the way I have no regrets.

    2 weeks Post op Stall?

Just went through my first stall. Yes it is normal. It's still upsetting. You need to look at the whole picture in two weeks you lost 18#'s. Heck I'm 5 weeks out and I've lost 19 total. Keep doing everything required for your plan. If your following that then you are doing all you can do. The rest is up to your body. Maybe try staying off scale will help.
  12. Interesting. I'm a month out. I'm currently getting 250-300 daily. I've been stuck at the same weight for several weeks
  13. Was sleeved 2/9. Just passed the 1 month mark. My surgeon has given me permission to eat anything that I can tolerate. I have to stay under a 1000 calories a day. I can't imagine getting anywhere near that any time soon. Currently between 200 to 300. I've lost 17.3 pounds. My goal is 140. Surgeon said that was the low end. He wants no lower than 140. I'm currently 201.7
  14. I was sleeved on the 9th. I have not had any of these symptoms. I do know my surgeon told me if I had daily issues to make appointment to see him. I highly suggest you see your surgeon.
  15. Hi there, if you haven't seen one of my posts from today. I need to let you know I had my surgery 2/9. So I've weighed myself every day for a long time. It's a habit or an addiction. You pick. So today when I got up I almost weighed myself[emoji44]. I stopped in time. I do believe I got the shakes and broke out in a sweat. Lol I've sworn to only weighing once a week. My weigh in day will be Thursday's. That's 4 long days away. I sure hope I can stick with it. Hubby may have to hide it from me. So if some strange lady knocks on your door asking if she can weigh herself on your scale, nicely tell her it's not Thursday yet. Lol
  16. Since the site update the font on BP are super tiny. I don't read alot of the posts if they are very long and to tiny. Can someone please help me?

My surgeon told me no herbal teas starting a week before surgery. Also had to stop all vitamins and supplements. I could have decaf black tea

    Weight Gain

Just experienced this myself this morning. I'm 17 days out. It is freaky seeing a gain even though i knew it was going to happen. The old me would of skipped breakfast. I'm eating a 1/4 cup soft foods 3 times a day and 1 snack. Yesterday I only got 48oz of fluid down[emoji53] but met my protien goal. I ate 184 calories. Today I'm going to get both!
  21. You're eating chicken 11 days out? Is that OK with your plan? Everyone's plans are so different. I can't have chicken until I'm 6 weeks post-op. I'm on day 16 and just started soft foods. Yogurt has gone down ok. Scramble eggs and string cheese are my favorite right now. I made the ricotta bake tonight. It was delicious.

    5 weeks post op.

Broccoli? I'm not sure if that's a wise choice. Especially since your tummy is still tender. You need to focus on getting protien. I'm 16 days post-op. My post-op has been fairly easy compared to alot of people on here. Are you reaching your protien & fluid goals? How much are you eating at one time? Maybe you should go back to soft food for a little while and let your tummy heal some more. I'd definitely check with your surgeon about eating broccoli this soon.
  23. Help I still can't read my messages. If you have sent me one and I haven't responded. I can't
  24. I've been trying to access my messages from this forum but I cant. Is anyone else having this problem?
  25. Kaiser doesn't do a puree stage either. I'm two weeks post-op tomorrow. I start soft foods Friday. You should establish the habit of weighing or measuring your food now. It's as important as brushing your teeth. Do it cause it's got to be done. Friday I start eating 1/4 cup per meal with one snack. I'm only required to get 40 grams of protien for this stage.
