    4.5 months update & pics

Yay! You look great!! We are in a similar spot. 10's are fitting me, too and I'm starting to fit into 8's. It's amazing and mind boggling. I, too, am thinking I'll be to goal sometime this summer. I wish it were sooner, but I'm just coming off a month long stall and my weight loss has slowed to an average of 5 pounds a month. I can't even complain, really. As long as it's leaving, I'm ok with it.

    Stalled 4 months out

I was sleeved a couple weeks before you and I'm just coming out of a month long stall. I don't know what caused the stall to break, but I will say that going shopping and buying clothes in a smaller size really helped my psyche...and the day after I did that, my stall broke. (Shopping breaks stalls!!! LOLOL)
  3. A lot of people stall early. The infamous "week 3 stall" can really happen in week 2 or week 4 or whenever. Keep the faith and stay on course. You will lose the weight once your body stops freaking out from the changes that are and have happened (major surgery, very low calories). And rest assured, you will stall again. And again. And again. But eventually you'll get there.
  4. I don't think (and also, in my experience) there is any amount of weight that is "enough" or "the right amount". Your body is unique to you and it will do what it will do. It never hurts to assess what you are doing and tweak things if you feel you need to, but you will lose weight. How slow or how fast depends on your individual makeup. Just stay the course and keep the faith.

    September 2016 Post VSG Updates

@rolosmom7, I don't know it's normal. You could call the dr and see what they say. It's frustrating as hell. I'm happy to report that my scale finally started moving again in just the last 2 days. Say a prayer that it keeps going down.

    4 month stall

I'm coming on a month in my stall, too. Surgery was 9/21/16. I'm glad I'm not the only one, but I wish all of our stalls would break!! My clothes are getting looser and I'm fitting into smaller sizes, so I know I have been losing inches, so I'm trying to hold on to that. It's getting pretty old looking at the scale and seeing the same numbers +/- a pound over and over again.
  7. I have always been an hourglass, but I've been surprised how much my butt has shrunk! It's not small, and my thighs still feel big (though, they, too, are shrinking ) but I shrink out of my jeans first in my butt/waist. My boobs have shrunk, but it's not as noticeable to me. I was wearing a 38DDD and now I'm a 36DD.
  8. It's normal. You're body is healing and it's busy doing lots of stuff right now. Some people drop lots of weight right away and some people (me) don't. week 1: -1 week 2: -6 week 3: -1 week 4: -1 week 5: -3 ect... I am now 4 months out and am down 30ish. It will happen. Hang on. *hug* Oh, and the pain is probably normal, but you should probably talk to your surgeon.
  9. I'm also about 4 months out, and while I don't really know the answer, I will tell you that I have a friend that kept losing (albeit slowly, she was a slow loser the whole way) for 4+ years. She thought she was happy and done when she got to the 170's...then at various points along the way and now she weighs in the 130's and she looks and feels fabulous. So, I guess what I'm saying is you can't answer that right now. I think the answer is that you will stop losing weight when you do. (Assuming you stick to the plan).

    Low BMIers

My BMI was 31ish when I was sleeved, after losing a bit in the preop diet. I've lost about 30 pounds since being sleeved on 9/21/16. Some days it feels painfully slow. I struggled a lot during the first month or 2 when I was watching people sleeved at the same time dropping lots of weight while I was feeling like I was standing still. I am struggling now again. I have only lost about 5 pounds since Christmas. But the trend is still down, so I'm trying to stay positive. Things that help: I've spent most of my adult life as a 14/16/18 and now I'm comfortable in 10/12 (really, edging toward 10s). That doesn't sound like much, but it FEELS great. I used to wear XL/XXL tops. Now I'm wearing mostly mediums. MEDIUM!!! I have discovered I have huge hipbones. LOL I used to drag myself up the stairs, now I bounce. In general, things are just easier. No regrets.

    September 2016 Post VSG Updates

Hello. Sleeved 9/21/16. I, too, have been struggling with making sure I get my Water in. I've also been more lax with my eating, but have started working on both those things this week I feel like I'm getting back on track. My weight loss feels slow and I'm in a bouncy stage right now. Down 2, up 1, up 1, down 3, down 1, up 2, etc. --you get the picture. The overall trend is down, but it's slooooow. Since surgery, I'm down almost 30 pounds, since August, I'm down almost 50. Since Christmas I'm down about 5. But honestly, I'm happy. I'm so much more comfortable in my body and in my clothes. Slow and steady right?

I do NOT want to tell my dad.

I'm sorry that she was so mean to you, and I'm sorry your dad didn't put a stop to it. I can understand you wanting to keep it from her/them. I hope she isn't as mean to your half sister as she was to you, but I suspect she is. I guess the only thing I want to say to you is this surgery isn't about her. It isn't about him. It's about and for YOU.
  13. I, too, am looking forward to summer for the first time probably ever. I'm hoping more than anything that I'll just not be so uncomfortable. But the cute clothes, too.
  14. Hellya

    I want too eeaattt..

Those first few weeks do feel long. *hug*
  15. At four months out, I still struggle with plain Water, especially if it's cold. I, too, don't like drinking sweet drinks. I drink a lot of tea. I also make my americanos with extra water.

    Spouse helping

This. So much this. I got so mad at my husband one time when he was actually trying so hard to be helpful! Of course, I wasn't mad at him at all, just mad that I was feeling crappy and nothing was making me feel better. What I really needed was gas-x strips and kaepectate, lol. She will want to feel better sooner than she will, and that can be hard, so be kind and patient and aware of what her needs are. I like to be mostly left alone when hurting or sick, but some people need a cuddle or to be doted on. You know your wife.

    How much did you lose...

Good gosh!!! Well that makes me feel like I am doing something very wrongSent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Aaaand this is why I hate it when people want to compare weight loss. Yup. For comparison, I'm 16 weeks out (sleeved 9/21) and my surgery weight was 192 and I'm now 168.

    September 2016 Sleevers!

Hi! Did I write this? Today is 3 months for me, too, I started at 210 am now at 169! My butt is smaller (yay!!) but I'm kinda sad about my boobs. LOL. It's so awesome to no longer be obese, but I really am looking forward to having a normal/healthy weight. I bought size 10 jeans yesterday. I've never bought a size 10 jean. Or at least as an adult. Maybe when I was 14. LOL Life is good.

    Wasting food

It's hard to change that way of thinking when you heard it so much growing up. Here's the way I look at it: Eating food I don't want/need is just as wasteful as throwing it away. The difference? One goes in the garbage, the other ends up on my body.
  20. Hi! I was 210 when I first started the process, bmi 35. I was 192 on day of surgery and I'm 171 today. Today is 11 weeks since surgery, so I've lost 21 pounds since surgery, and 39 over all. I'm so glad I did this. No regrets at all. I'm currently at a weight that is close to the lowest I've ever been as an adult, and that was just for a minute. It's weird to think I'm close to being smaller than I've ever been. I wear a 12 now and I have never bought anything smaller than a 12, even as a teenager. It's exciting!
  21. I've gotten on my treadmill 17 of the last 19 days, and I've started to jog. I jogged 20 min straight yesterday. I was hoping I'd be able to start running, but I didn't think it would be as easy as it has been. Also, I'm no longer "obese".
  22. Hellya

    Not losing

    Very normal.
  23. I'm sorry. If it were me, I'd do it. Even though it's not easy, the changes are positive ones. But you have to do what's right for you. *hug*

    Under 200.

Hi! I was 210 to start, 193 day of surgery (9/21) and 177 today. I've seen a lot of zero losses, too, but the general trend is a losing one, so I'm happy overall. I think weeks 2-4 I saw no changes, and even small gains. It's frustrating when you are in it.
  25. I'm doing ok with my calcium (tablets) but all of a sudden my Multivitamins (celebrate) are making me sick. At first it was just nausea, but now I'm throwing them up. I don't understand why they were fine and now they aren't.
