  1. I'm a year post op and I've lost over 200 pounds. Also, I'm 22. And I have a lot of excess skin...especially around my stomach, thighs, and arms. But I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I feel SO much better now.

  2. I can't wait to be where you are! I'm a really fast eater so I need to practice eating slow too! I had 4 kids so I had to eat really fast or I didn't eat! But obviously I choked it down! lmao!

My advice is to practice now. Really. I've had countless times where I've ate too fast and ended up eating too much and having everything come right back up. It's not pretty. Lol. But after awhile, you do get into a routine. You can do it! [emoji4]

  3. It's exciting so naturally you want to share it! But I agree, before my surgery I didn't tell many people. But now, I'm proud of how far I came and I tell anyone who asks. It definitely is NOT the easy way out like people think.

But to answer your question, the hardest part was just the adjusting to being around people eating yummy food and not being able to eat it, or enjoy it. I still struggle to eat slow to this day, and let me tell you...I pay the price every time. You'll learn quickly how much you can eat, and you'll know when you've ate too much. It's just the process of adjusting. It's really all mental.

  4. So, I want to start a thread where everyone can just vent about their surgery. Even if you haven't had it yet.

I'm sure we've all had our fair share of ups and downs throughout this whole journey. Sometimes, it's nice to talk about your frustrations without judgement. And what better place to talk about what you're going through, than with people who also have had similar situations.

    So let's start!

  5. Hellooo!

I'm currently 13 months post op. This past year has been filled with hospital visits and 7 times under anesthesia...it's been rough. But, I've lost over 200 pounds. Yes, that's right! I started at 450...as of today I'm at 243. I still want to lose some more weight, but I know it'll take some hard work.

Anyways! Needless to say, I have a LOT of excess skin on my arms, stomach, thighs, and back . As of the last few weeks I've been getting these awful painful rashes on my thighs and under my excess skin on my stomach. It makes it so hard to move. I've been putting on baby powder to try to keep it dry, but I want to know if there's anything else I could use?

Also, any idea how far out you have to be in order to get plastic surgery? I know I'm still probably too early but I want to have something to look forward too. (And yes, I'm documenting my rashes with my PCP for insurance purposes)

    Thank you!

  6. So I had bypass on 8/17

    Normal surgery, no complications.

On 9/23 I was admitted to the hospital and had to go into the OR to check for an ulcer- which they found.

Yesterday 9/30 I had to have surgery to have my gallbladder removed.

I haven't been able to eat in weeks...and I'm excited to move on. I've put my life on hold for 2 months and I'm ready to get back to life.

On the plus side- I've lost 50 pounds in 6 weeks:)

  7. So I had bypass on 8/17

I've had a pretty normal surgery, nothing wrong. Post op I was doing okay, having a little bit of trouble getting fluids in.

Fast forward to this past week or so I've been feeling nauseous all the time, every time I eat I feel pain/sick afterwards. I have moderate pain on my right side (near my upper back) that comes and goes a few times a day, vomiting whenever I do eat, pain in my upper abdomen a few times a day, and my stool turned to this very pale almost white color (not to be gross lol)

I'm at a loss as to what's going on with me...or is it normal? /:

  8. This is in response to most other answers. You are right, we all have those cheat days.

The danger in doing it this early out is you can damage your new tummy. It just isn't worth the potential complications.

I cringe when I see people telling everyone it's ok to cheat this early on. I get it, we slip...we all do it but doing it so close to surgery date is very dangerous.

Oh I completely agree with you.

It was an awful mistake that I literally cannot stop thinking about.

It's not something I want to mess with.

I will be firmly sticking to the plan and I'll get to eat food when I can.

  9. Yeah, I can relate.

But really, some cheese off a slice of pizza?

    How bad is that?

At least you didn't eat the slice of pizza,

    And another slice,

and oh that was really hitting the spot!

After you finish the pizza and order another (or two)

you have a food coma on the couch,

Then eat most of the left overs for a snack.< /p>

When you put it that way...

    Lol.

I was terrified to eat the bread but it smelled so damn good. Haha.
