  1. I went to tickerfactory.com and made one. Then you edit and copy it (the bb.board box url) like a word document....then go to the lapband site and click on Edit Signature...paste the copy into the box with your name...NOT in the part below all the smiley guys that says HTML etc.... Then, below that, save signature...you should see it. Good luck it took me several days because I kept puttingit in the wrong place!
  2. Thank you for sharing! I think way too much too! I am working on keeping positive thoughts about surgery... as for weight...I was always compassionate towards others and their weight...no one is getting back at me...it is just how it is...I have struggled since college...in high school I was fine, but was told differently (138 lbs 5'5.75). Now I just want to be HEALTHY and then...under 200...155 is what the doc said... Keep all your minds in the positive...we are taking control through this!!
  3. Good luck to you...it is a journey that is for the better...I believe I am so lame...I can't get my ticker to post!!! I'll keep working at it?????

    I'm BANDED!

Wow! You did great! I mean, look at what you've been through...it is like I'm on one side of the fence watching the big kids play and you are on the other side with them. I had an open hysterectomy last summer, so I know the first few days are rough but you will heal quickly I'm sure! Hang in there...I'm still waiting for an approval and date . . so for me you have leapt the highest hurdle! Keep strong and walk when you can. Keep us informed...Best Wishes
  5. They told me that too. I go for blood test this week. You develop antiboddies against it, so once you've been treated it still shows the antiboddies...kind of like with Rubella measles...ok, I'm not a DR. but that is my understanding. P. S. Very common she said too????

    Waiting for surgery

Today was a great day! My "case worker" has all my stuff finally...My insurance does not include banding until 3/01/08. We were going to submit on 3/3 (Monday). Anyway, the director of my benefit department e-mailed me (she said with the new language she didn't want my file to accidentally get denied) so she gave me the info for the contact person for my insurance and then she e-mailed me too. My case worker then sent on my file today!!!Yea! I hope it all goes smooth and I get approved so I can get the date!! How much school will you miss..if any???
  9. I found out today I do go back for the Cpap calibration. OK so everyone loves having it because you sleep so much better but...I hate things on me at night and I twist around the whole bed. Granted, if I slept maybe I would be in one position...but...Also, I'm claustraphobic so things on my face???? I'm trying to have a good attitude because I hear it is so dangerous but....UGH! Funny, I go in for a band and come out with a mask first....I'm sure it is very sexy too! Well, breathing is better than not! See, I'm trying to have a good attitude!

    Waiting for surgery

Great for you..it is a definite step! I have been following an exercise regimine and nutrition program since Dec. 11th, 2007. Not that I didn't before...this is just very supervised...I figure...all the toning and progress I make now while waiting makes it that much less of a battle after surgery so...good luck to us all!
  12. I went for my big appt. too and then a week later had my sleep study. That was 2/17/08...I'm still waiting to hear if I have apnea???? The tech said I did not sleep enough for them to put on the Cpap machine...she had told me at the beginning that they would during the night...anyway, no machine all night. I only slept for 2 long stretches which is what I do at home too? So, I may have to go again for them to callibrate the machine...if I need it...Im waiting!!!!

I'm an Arizona teacher too! Good Luck..I'm hoping to hear about my insurance approval next week...then a lap date!! Sounds fun!
  14. :sad:Lori, good luck to you...and everyone interested in this...I'm thinking this whole journey...including the wait...is to prepare us for the LIFE LONG Change of eating habit!!! I took YEARS to decide to do this so...being in the path at this point is amazing..I can't believe all the documentation I have compiled...I just hope it is all there...I'll hear soon I'm sure. The language in my insurance doesn't become effective until SAT, March 1st...so my file will be submitted on Monday...talk about timing...bypass was covered if certain criteria was met but not lapband!!! I thought I was going to have to appeal...I still may...but at least I know now that it is an option!! Good Luck to you.... Practice your small bites and chew chew chew...not drinking with a meal is my biggest hurdle...I'm so used to trying to flood myself with Water....
  15. I know how you feel. I am waiting for the insurance approval...how long does that usually take? I'd like my surgery in June due to my schedule so I hope that they aren't scheduling that far yet!!! In the meantime, I am trying hard to exercise...limited...and loose my 15 mandatory pounds. The hard part to that is I just lost about 40 this year...so it is very slow...that is why I want the surgery!!
