I'm one month post op tommorow and I am so happy I did this! I went through stage of regret but it passed, I've experienced my three week stall but looking at myself in the mirror and seeing my scars heal, seeing my stomach shrink tremendously, I know this was my destiny. The amount of confidence I feel at only 27 pds down, is AMAZING. Not eating the way I did prior, is a blessing. No diets would help me stop the binge eating and slow death I was headed for. This surgery has given me my strength and confidence that I had lost for 6 years. Thank god for Dr. Clark!
Fantastic job!!! I'm so glad you are doing so great!!

For the person that is pre-op right now wondering if this is really the right decision for you while you struggle with your insurance for coverage, I was you.
For the person that is recently post op and has a million and one questions, excitement mixed with regret and is scared to death to drink Bc of that weird, heavy and sometimes painful feeling, I was you.
For the person in the first 3 phases after the surgery struggling to get down their Protein, Water and Vitamins in.. or these vitamins, I was you.
To the person that is weighing themselves every day, twice a day and finds themselves stalled even though you are doing EVERYTHING right, I was you.
To the people on this journey that are learning more and more about themselves every day, finding the strength in will power and the empowerment of eating to live instead of living to eat, gaining back your confidence while on some days still struggling with poor self-consciousness, I am you.
This journey began for me 8 months ago, and what a journey thus far.. there has been struggling, feelings of defeat and many tears.. but I would do the VSG again in a heartbeat Bc I have my life back, I am no longer a prisoner in my body and I have grown so much as a person. People sometimes ask me if I have any regrets, the only "regret" that I have is that I didn't do this surgery sooner.
Wishing everyone on this journey (pre and post op) support, love, and light.
YOU CAN DO THIS!
Below is a pic I took the day of surgery August 24, 2016
Next to it is a pic that I took exactly 7 months post op on March 24, 2017
I'm down 68 pounds.

This is a powder that you mix with Water? Or something you put in your food?

Hey all!
I was sleeved August 24 and have lost 48 pounds thus far.. I am a creature of habit and usually eat the same things everyday to get my Protein in.. however, I'm getting a little blah with the same old stuff..
what is a typical day of meals like for you? Any fast high protein meals you can recommend me making?
Maybe it's a mental block but I can NOT get down Greek yogurt which is such a bummer bc it has so much protein in it.
Thanks

The insurance game is a total buzz kill, but unfortunately you have to play their game for approval.. I had to gain weight to qualify, not my proudest moment.. However now being 6 week post op and down 35 pounds, I would do it again in a heart beat..
Good luck

My exercise of choice is swimming. I have been in the pool since I was cleared.
As to stalls, they are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight.
Embrace the Stall

Do you do free style laps? Or resistance training? Running in the Water?
About how long is your exercise session in the pool?

Everyone, including family will have their opinions and offer Their "advice" without being asked.
My mom had a lot of negative feelings about me having the sleeve, I finally told her that this is my body and my decision.. If she was unhappy about it then please vent to your friends about it and not me.. Keep it positive and keep your eye on the prize.. I literally was a junk food magnet before surgery.. Now, I could care less about candy and chips.
You can do this and you have this app to support you and cheer you on.
Best of luck

Went from band to sleeve August 26.. Aside from a little bit of pain from where the port was, recovery has been great and I've lost 27 pounds. Keep the faith my friend, you will do great!

The surgery was great, no issues.. Pain was very minimum.. I hit a wall like day 5 bc I felt like I was starving all the time but Protein shakes were making me nauseas. I spoke to my nutritionist and with some trial and error, I created a Protein shake that works for me and is delicious, plus it's got 40g of Protein in it.. I freeze the extra shake into Popsicles and will snack on that.. It tastes like ice cream.
I want to lose about 80 pounds.
Starting weight 267.8
Weight before surgery 255.6
Today's weight 240.1

I'm a newbie.. I started doing the half and half a few week pre op.. Instead of the regular creamer with lots of sugar that I used to use, I put in vanilla premier Protein to add in some Protein. It really tastes great

Caffeine is a diuretic, so to much of it leaves us at risk for dehydration.. I am a nightshift nurse and neeeeed my coffee lol.. I have found that many kcup brands that carry half and half (caffeine/decaf) at dunkin and Starbucks, you cal also ask for half and half.. Everything in moderation I think

Yes.. Post op shoulder and back pain from the gas was more painful then the incisions.
Walk walk walk and then walk more. Also my doctor allowed me gas-x which I think helped. Hope you feel better

You guys are just amazing and so supportive.. Thank you!
Surgery went well and I really haven't experienced to much post op pain.. Has is a little uncomfortable and the larger incision(where the stomach come out) is tender .
I did the swallow test yesterday morning to make sure there was no leaking and then started Clear Liquids.< /p>
Thanks again for all the positive vibes and well wishes >hugs<
