  1. I am almost 8 weeks out from surgery, my HW was 372, SW 356, CW 320. I have a Pre op pic and a 7 week pic that I took to journal my journey. I can look in the mirror and see that I am slimming down...and my clothes are loose, but the pictures I have taken look no different to me.

Is this normal? Is there a trick about what to wear in the pics? Will this change for me at some point?

I just want to have that moment when I don't want to delete the photo after I take it

Thank you in advance for your insight and advice

  2. I told all the people closest to me so I would have the support I needed. I didn't want to tell everyone because I was worried about what they would say. ..and felt that I might agree with them to some extent.

The decision to have surgery, for me, meant that I was admitting that I was not strong enough to do it on my own.

Now that I am 7 weeks out and down from HW: 372 to CW: 318, I feel like shouting it from the rooftops that I had surgery and it took away all of the things that got in my way before. ..like the constant hunger and thoughts of eating. I feel free from food for the first time in my life!

  3. I was wishy washy too, and all about food! How crazy huh? I mean food got me here and I want to change!

I talked to my surgeon about it and he made me feel better. He told me this surgery isn't about never having pizza again, or sushi, it was about helping to change habits and my health. He explained that I can have pizza, but 1 slice instead of a whole large. ... it clicked! I realized that healthy was better than overeating.

  4. I was lucky, I had a coworker join the gym with me and I for a trainer 1 day a week. Having to meet someone there makes the difference for me.

I started slow on the treadmill and lifting a little weight. Now I can walk faster on the treadmill and have already gained strength!

I know it is very hard to convince yourself to go, but I promise you it will feel great! I am 4 weeks into the gym and already find myself going by myself if I need to :) small steps to a lifetime of change!
