Same here. I'm 7 weeks out and I'll have a small glass or two a few nights a week. It's weird, when I tried Riesling (sweet higher sugar white wine for those who don't know) it never really hit me. I thought something was wrong with me and I still had my tolerance from before surgery. But as soon as I tried a drier red and white it definitely hits me faster. I just go slow and enjoy it.
I began drinking wine in my 6th week and have had no problems.

I'd say if you're going the mixed drink route make sure your mixer is low/no cal/carb. Diet juice, seltzer, Crystal Light (awesome mixer, used it while on Weight Watchers), etc.
My NUT and surgeon both said I was fine to have a few sips of wine at Christmas time and I was sleeved 12/6/16. Now I'll have a small glass or two several nights a week, but it hasn't hampered my weight loss and I take the calories and carbs into consideration.

Can you post a couple examples of your daily meals? Are you drinking enough liquids and (sorry, personal) are you going #2 regularly?

I'm 6 weeks post-op and I've only lost 10 pounds. What am I doing wrong? I haven't had bread Pasta or potatoes and I'm watching my portions yet I am not losing like anyone else on here I see. I expected a slow loss what this is starting to make me feel defeated. On top of that , even though I feel my restriction I quickly get hungry again...
Why don't you post up what you have been eating for the last week. Maybe we can spot some ways to help you.
Agreed. That could help a lot.

I have Tricare as my husband is retired military. So far I've just had to pay minimal copays and it seems like it shouldn't be too hard to get approved. I have my last psych apt tomorrow, then my package will be submitted for approval. My surgeon's office already scheduled my surgery for 12/5 since their appointments were filling up so let's hope Tricare approves it quickly! I'm having the sleeve as well.

Just curious. It would be nice to hear your story and compare experiences. My surgeon is Dr. Garza out of Aurora Summit. Surgery is scheduled for Dec 5, but still waiting to have last psych appt and get approved by insurance (Tricare).

Sorry for my random tiny print lol

But don't they look at your weight from each visit? I was assuming the doctor's office sends all of the visit summaries to the insurance companies...

Great info, thanks!

I've gained about 15 lbs since this whole process began and I'm worried Tricare won't approve my surgery. Life has been crazy stressful and eating healthy has been a huge challenge. Anyone have experience with this?

I was sleeved 12/5 so Christmas was 3 weeks after that. My surgeon said it was ok for me to have a few sips of wine.
