  1. Hi. I know EXACTLY how you feel! I was so scared the few days before my surgery that I almost backed out. But then I realized that I was MORE scared of what my life was going to be like if I didn't have the surgery. My pain would only get worse, my bp would get worse, as well as my cholesterol and I' d probably end up diabetic. I had my surgery on June 14, and I'll be 100% honest with you...it hurt like Hell when I first woke up! They gave me pain meds and for the rest of the time I was in the hospital, I only had Tylenol. I was nauseaus 2xs (no vomiting) not much gas either. I am now 31lbs down and the pain is gone, my bp is the lowest it's ever been. The only issue I have, is that I'm SO TIRED OF EATING MEAT!!! I want carbs! But, I know thats what got me here in the first place. You can do it, don't let your fear keep you from the life you want...and deserve! Good luck!!! 2. Wow! 6 weeks. I guess I'm just going to have to force myself to eat. Hopefully it gets easier. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. I may not be the best person to reply, but I can tell you that the first week for me was the hardest! I didn't have pain, but I couldn't drink! I craved water so bad, but I just COULD NOT drink. I am now 12 days post op, and things are 95% better. I can drink with no problem and I have started eating. I still get tired easily, but each day is a little better. Hang in there, you will do great. One day at a time!!! Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. Hi. I was just wondering when everyone started protein bars. I have been on soft meats for a week now, and sometimes I just feel like having a little something at lunch, not a "meal" or a bar for breakfast. I have been fine with eggs, chicken, beef, yogurt, cheese. I am starting with a new dietitian on Saturday. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Won't the carbs/sugar in the chocolate milk make you sick? Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. I'm 10 days post op, and just started being able to stay awake all day. Still not much energy, I should be walking more, but I'm just so tired. I hope it passes soon. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  7. My surgeon told me that it was a good thing I didn't have any prior abdominal surgeries. Apparently the scar tissue causes more pain. I hope she feels better soon. I'm 10 days out, and tonight is the first time I've had any pain...a little stomachache Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. I sent an email to a new nutritionist this am. Unfortunately, they are out until Monday. I am not yet cleared for raw veggies. And I'm not sure if its too soon for turkey bacon. Today, I had a greek yogurt for breakfast, some cheddar cheese as a snack and I am currently making chili. I KNOW I'm not getting in enough protein, I'm hoping a new nut can help me with that. I can't wait to be allowed salad and nuts! Thank you for your advice! I have also been drinking Fairlife milk for protein. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. It's called Schmidt 347 Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. I DON'T want to do ANYTHING wrong!!! I also had to go through nutrition classes and see a nutritionist, but I really don't feel that she was very knowledgeable. I just asked a question about low carb bread, so now I know that answer. What else is there for breakfast besides eggs? I haven't been told I could have protein bars and I was told to stop my shakes. I am calling a new nut on Monday. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. Hi. I am 9 days post op, and my surgeon cleared ne 3 days ago to start soft meats and veggies. I have tried eggs, cheese, chili abd crab cakes (that was the only thing that didn't agree with me) I am getting very tired of eggs. I found a bread today with 6g carbs, I believe 1 g sugar. Do you think it would be ok if I made french toast out of 1 slice? I have not been told I could have protein bars or fruit. I don't know what else to have. I am going to contact a dietitian on Monday. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. Lol i am 8 days post op and I have to turn off the pizza commercials! I think I'm going to try a recipe I saw, I think its called fat head pizza. I have never been a good cook, I guess I need to learn FAST! Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. I thought it was too early to start food, but my dr was pretty sure. I am only eating food once a day. I fill in the rest of the day with yogurt and stuff like that. I have lost 28lbs including the pre-op diet (15 post op) hopefully that keeps up!!! Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. I FORGOT about the ricotta bake! I have the recipe! I'm going to try that tomorrow. My surgeon has me starting meats this week, so I guess it would be fine! Thank you! Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. So far so good. I am tolerating eggs, cheese and chicken salad. I try 1 thing a day. I was having a very hard time drinking the first few days, but thats better now. I never had pain or nausea, very little gas. How are you doing? Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. I just "assumed" that I am done with pizza, pasta and bread now. I am just trying to do everything the "right" way. I am only 8 days post op, and so far I have tolerated eggs, cheese and chicken salad. I was a pizza ADDICT! So maybe thats why I'm afraid to eat it!? Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. I KNOW I won't be able to eat pizza again, but what about the cheese off of it? I am still in the very beginning stages of eating, but I am just curious. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. Thank you for the idea, I looked it up,but I don't want to have to buy special things to be able to make the food. I am on a VERY tight budget. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  19. My doctor hasn't mentioned protein bars or nuts yet, too soon? I also use the fairlife milk and I am trying string cheese as I type this, (so far so good) I guedd I'm impatiemt. I want to be "normal" again NOW!! LOL Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  20. Ugh. I was hoping that if a food is ok once, it will continue to be ok. Are we supposed to eat VERY slowly and tiny bites forever? Or does that change? Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. That's what happened with the egg! I thinkI would have been fine if I didn't have the yogurt too, I wanted to make sure I got the protein in. Next time JUST the eggs! I am going to try cheese this afternoon. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  22. I think I ate too much. I had 4 bites of eggs and a half greek yogurt, now I just feel gross. I was doing fine, then all of the sudden i was DONE. But I think it was a bite ir 2 too late [emoji53] Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  23. I actually just bought a bariatric cook book. I'm not a good cook, so the recipes are a must! It was my surgeon that told me to move on. I guess I just expected to go through "stages". Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  24. Thank you! I am going to go slowly. It's hard, because my family "feels so bad" for me not eating, that I think they are trying to push me to go faster than I'm comfortable with. I know they mean well, but I HAVE TO DO THIS how I'M confortable. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  25. I'm better with water now. It took about 4 days, I am doing better with everything at this point so far. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
