October 2016-Surgery Date. Where are you now?

I am doing well. Haven't been on in a while. Surgery date was 10/5. Starting weight was 254, surgery weight was 216, current weight is around 185 (and has been holding at that for a month-ish). I am feeling really good though. Wearing a size 10 and super happy.

Any sleevers near Castro Valley, CA?

Yes. I had vsg on 10/5. Started at 254 (at orientation in September), now 191. Feeling great! I have Kaiser so have only been to the support groups there. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Any October 2016 Sleevers?

I had sleeve surgery on 10/5 and have been doing great! Like @@bwyjunky79 I seem to be able to eat anything (in very small amounts). I continue to focus on Protein and hydration, with fiber/complex carbs when I have room left. SW 228 CW 196 (and down from a tight size 16 to a size 12 - woohoo!). @@TiredOfMyself - here is my usual food for the day: Breakfast - coffee with nf milk, then 1 egg, 1-2 oz cheese lunch - 3 oz grilled chicken, tuna salad or deli meat, 3 wheat crackers (encouraged by my NUT) Dinner- varies every day but always 3 oz meat (tonight was grilled shrimp, the night before was pot roast) plus a few bites of vegetable Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Swimming post surgery

Ask your doctor. I swim a lot and my doctor told me 3 weeks (he said up to 4 depending on how the incisions were healing, but gave me the all-clear at three weeks because they were looking great).

I miss coffee! What's the point of decaf?!

I drank decaf for the first six weeks post-op because I love the taste of coffee and and morning smells/ritual of making it. I started drinking half-caff at 7 weeks (I'm almost 9 weeks post-op now) and the little bit of caffeine has been great.

Wheat thins at 5 weeks out?

Whole wheat crackers without seeds are encouraged in my plan starting from week 4 - but only 2-3 crackers and only if you have room after you eat your 3oz of Protein. I often eat 2 "open to nature" wheat crackers (very similar to wheat thins) after I eat my egg+cheese in the mornings.

Can I still join? Sorry I forgot to post before today, but Monday is my weigh-in day so I have it recorded. :-) 11/14: 200.4 11/21: 199.8 11/28: 198.6 Goal: 190 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Starbucks

I am six weeks out and go three or four times a week. I always get a decaf, nonfat latte. 11g of Protein really helps my protein goals for the day. I'm switching to half-caff soon! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Today's lunch

Had a yummy dinner tonight so I thought I'd share. Barbacoa lamb/beef meat with roasted honeynut squash and Brussels sprouts. Family made it into tacos. For size perspective, it is in a dip serving dish (my fav dishes to eat from these days - perfect portion sizes). Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Today's lunch

The chicken looks great! I may have to order Indian food tonight. My lunch wasn't very creative today, but I am eating it right now so I'll share. 2oz deli sliced chicken wrapped in 2oz havarti cheese - and after that - 3 small 'back to nature' whole wheat crackers.

  18. Hi everyone, I'm almost a month out and can easily swallow Vitamins now, so I am in search of a multi that is made of whole food sources and is organic. It needs to mimic the Centrum chewables in terms of vitamins it contains and, per my NUT, needs to contain at least 18mg of Iron so that I don't have to take an iron supplement in addition. Any ideas? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How much protein do you get in a day?

60-70 grams a day. 4 weeks out. All food (or nonfat milk). Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    RICHMOND, CA KAISER ANYONE?

Agreed - and the psych is part time! Mine was the same thing (4 lbs to lose and psych got scheduled over a month out), but I literally started calling every other day until there was a cancellation (and eventually I got an appt that was almost three weeks before my original one). RICHMOND, CA KAISER ANYONE?

Not everyone has to do the classes. Anyone who re-starts the program after a break has to do them, and they sometimes recommend them if people are struggling to lose weight pre-op or struggling with a particular aspects of lifestyle change. I didn't have to do them, but I heard that they were very helpful. My surgery was scheduled for a month after my case manager appt (for me, surgery was almost exactly two months after orientation - I had gastric sleeve with Dr. Mostaedi on 10/5). 22. Ended at 210.8. Met goal early, then stayed there (in the midst of the dreaded 3 week stall). Still happy with progress! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    My week 3 results

Awesome! You look GREAT! We started very close to the same stats and had surgery on almost the same day (mine was 10/5). My starting weight was 253, my surgery weight was 228, and I am now at 209 (19 lbs, but I am still very happy for a little over 3 weeks!). Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Update on OCt sleevers.....

I am doing really well overall. Surgery was 10/5. I am on "soft foods" until 3 months post-op but that includes chicken, tuna salad, deli meats, cheeses, etc - I haven't had any trouble with any foods yet. I'm not hungry though, so I am having some trouble making myself eat (but I always do because the Protein is so important). I am also having some trouble with constipation so feeling a bit more grumpy than usual, but I took some miralax last night so I'm hoping I'll be able to go soon!
