  1. Don't beat yourself up. It happens.

It's interesting that there are so many pre op diets out there. I'm allowed to have 100g of Protein each day (as well as my shakes and vegies). My surgeon said it is ok to have a tiny bit more meat if I'm still hungry. Whereas my sister's surgeon said 50g meat and as many vegies as she likes.

I'm curious. What does everyone's pre op diet entail?

My pre-op diet was 9 days of full liquids and then 1 day of Clear Liquids. Sucked so much. I was never full and always hungry.

  2. I'm 9 weeks pregnant and about 9 months out of surgery. It was definitely an oopsie! Used protection but the condom broke, first time that's ever happened, and of course it happened to be while I was ovulating. I denied it the first month, but after being nauseous for a week straight I figured something was up.

Anyways I feel like already my restriction is lessening and my cravings are in full steam!

Need to get back on track but at the same time I want to make sure baby is getting enough nutrition.

Is it okay to go back to my Premier Protein drinks twice a day plus Snacks and then a dinner? Or should I be more focused on eating "real" food.

I'm stuck between the terror of gaining weight and the worry of not taking care of my babe.

    Any advice is appreciated!

(Ps I don't have a nutritionist. Had the surgery in Mexico and there was never any follow up or real support after the fact).

You should really find a nutritionist that you like and make an appt with them. Making sure you and baby are getting enough is super important.

  3. Hello! I'm on day 6 of my 10 liquid diet and I've noticed that it seems like there is something in my throat that only goes away with a good cough or throat-clearing. Is that normal? Am I imagining things?! Kinda feels like there are strings hanging out in there.

    Halp.

Do you eat alot of sugar free popsicles or something like crystal light?
No crystal light and I've had 4 popsicles so far. Lots of milk though.

  4. I drink 80-120 oz of Water per day. Bought a thermos smart lid bottle that syncs to my phone so I don't even have to keep track. I also drink 20oz of black coffee in the AM

Where did you buy that thermos? Brand name?

I like infused Water that I make myself, my current favorite is cucumber lime, or I use the Mio Vitamin drops in Blackberry Raspberry flavor. It's sweetened with stevia instead of sucralose, which I hate. They also have a Tropical Cherry flavor that I haven't tried but is stevia sweetened. I have no idea which Vitamins they claim to contain as I use a tiny amount because full strength is too sweet :-P

    The cherry is good too!

  5. Had my pre-op appt today and was prescribed the pill. I'll be adding it to my diet after I get my next period, which will be a well or two after my sleeve on 9/14.
