  1. Sleeved yesterday morning Not quire sure how to phrase this correctly, but how bad was your actual stomach pain? The inside as opposed to the incisions? It's dumb but I guess I never thought about this before the procedure. I thought about it hurting when I ate and about the incisions but I never really took time to think about how I'd have an open wound inside my body that would just be achy afterwards? What was your inner incision pain like? I'm also feeling lots of spasms and contracting. Thanks!
  2. I'm at home now and thanks to gas x strips I only had a tiny taste of gas pain, which was more than enough! I guess everyone heals differently, I'm just feeling pretty raw inside.
  3. I'm scheduled for 9:15 am!! So many emotions but right now I'm just nervous. Really worried something will go wrong :/ Was everyone scared right beforehand?
  4. Just about to leave for the hospital. Eek!
  5. Anyone who used the preop wipes, can you please let me know the instructions? I completely blanked on when I'm supposed to do them and my surgery is in the morning. I have 2% chlorhexidine gluconate clothes Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
  6. Did they tell you the night before? Mine says 3 hours before surgery as well.
  7. I think they will give me more time. Sent from my SM-T230NU using the BariatricPal App Just keep at it then! Your efforts will show on the scale soon enough I'm sure
  8. This math is not adding up. If that's all you've had then you have lost weight and the scale isn't reflecting it for some reason. Maybe period coming, maybe you're retaining water? Did you weigh early in the morning? Even if you're having that many carbs/day you have still lost weight. Was it on the same scale? I would say all you can do is stick to it and I'd expect to see a drop at some point. Weight is weird like that, it fluctuates. I'm going to stick it out. I want this surgery too much to be at this point and give up. It's discouraging when I don't see results though. Sent from my SM-T230NU using the BariatricPal App To be honest this is the only diet I haven't cheated on Sent from my SM-T230NU using the BariatricPal App I mean if you don't lose will they give you more time or is it just over? If it's really do or die time I guess all you can do is decrease your shake intake but that seems crazy to me. At 304 there's just no way you gained on this plan. I would assume this is a glitch in the scale but if this is your one shot then I guess do whatever you can.
  9. I'm scheduled for surgery Wednesday and I'm scared that I have made a wrong decision. I haven't been able to follow liquid diet completely. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App From what I've read the nerves about making the wrong decision are normal, but of course you should think it through. I didn't follow my liquid diet completely until today and yesterday. Honestly my doc didn't seem to worried about it. He basically said, "try your best". I had a few servings of tuna throughout the week.

  11. What's your starting weight and how many calories are the shakes?
  12. I made a post about this just a few days ago, apparently some people get it and some don't. I'm with @@theantichick I got a script for this and it was $115 for one pill. My surgery is tomorrow and I picked it up today (if you're going to get it filled make sure you drop it off early, my pharmacy had to order it) From what I've heard and the online reviews it helps massively with post op nausea. My doc made it clear that I don't HAVE to take it, but I'm willing to spend the $$ if it will help!
  13. I just hate surgery. I'm hoping nothing goes wrong and scared about how difficult my recovery will be. Ugh!
  14. Sorry, I know it's gross but I'm on day 3 of mostly liquids. My dr said I could cheat with a bit of tuna or chicken so I've been having that as well. Ive been getting plenty of Water so I'm not dehydrated. It just keeps coming. I just feel awful in general, I'm tired, I'm HOT (have no idea why but I'm pouring sweat) and just feeling gross. Is this how it will be post op? I feel like I'm going to pass out and I've had enough of the diarrhea.

    Pre Op diet and diarrhea

I am pre op and not post op, but I'll give it a shot. thanks
  16. i decided to go with it but apparently not many pharmacies carry it. im having it special ordered through CVS
  17. My dr gave me this and said to take one pill 3 hours before surgery. Apparently it really helps with post op nausea but it's expensive any my insurance won't cover it. Did anyone else use this? What were your results like? Thanks!
  18. Yeah I think I'm just going to suck it up and pay for it. I'm self pay so I'm already in the hole 14K, what's another $100?

    So disappointed :(

I think a lot of that depends on your insurance. I've heard of people just having their one weigh in used but then others who do the 6 month pre op diet and they use that weight and then they can't be covered b/c they lost too much. Honestly if you can come up with a way to pay for it I would look into it. It's an investment in your health. There will be some savings down the road esp if you eat out a lot or drink a lot of soda, etc. If you smoke or drink then you will have to stop (or mostly stop) and that saves $$ too. If going to Mexico is an option for you it can be less than 5K
  20. I know it's different for everyone, just trying to get a vague idea. Thanks!
  21. So I've been missing for a few weeks due to the fact that I got bronchitis. I was so bummed b/c I had to push back my final pre op appt twice. I went in today and my date is in one week! October 11!! I can't believe it's so soon. I told him I was nervous about the pre op diet and he just kinda shrugged and said, "try not to cheat but know that most people do". It seems a bit blase but I'm a low BMI patient for him so maybe he's not too worried about it. Super nervous and excited!
  22. I guess every doctor must be different b/c I know some people had a SUPER strict pre op, even 2 weeks sometimes. He was just kinda like, "meh, do your best". I know it will! I'm so scared!!

I was in the same situation as you and I'm self paying. My insurance makes it a nightmare to get approved and I am BMI 37. With my insurance they want to see a history of over 40 BMI so I would've had to gain it and keep it on for a while. I don't know if Mexico is an option for you but I looked into it and if my husband hadn't vetoed it I would've gone. Once you do some research there are some really good places but he just heard "surgery" and "Mexico" and assumed the worst. I am self paying 14.5K but there are surgeons in my area who do it for 11K. My paranoid husband wants me to use this one because they do the BLIS insurance, he's nervous about the whole idea of surgery so I'm giving in, lol. The one thing I will say for self pay is that it is a LOT faster and less hassle. My first appt was August 4th and my surgery is October 11 (and I had to push it back 2 weeks). My appointments and stuff ended up even taking a little longer than most people. Some of the girls in my class were 3 weeks from 1st appt to surgery.
  24. Wondering if anyone who had success on chantix was already taking medication for anxiety or depression? The doc who prescribed it to me said it wouldn't be an issue but it is worrying me. My doc also said I didn't need to quit for the sleeve but encouraged me to do so. I guess everyone's dr is different!
  25. So I'm confused, it helped tremendously but was barely worth it? I'm considering starting it so I'm looking for info.
