  1. Trust me I went back and forth emotionally right up to and including being prepped for surgery☺. I was on an emotional roller coaster but in this moments when I was straight with myself, I knew I had to do it and the reasons why. I'm still dealing with emotions. I also decided to tell only certain people and I told those people that I would tell the people I wanted to and asked them to respect my privacy. I'm glad I made that decision. I was pressured to tell other people but it was about them Not me.. This is about me. I know it's going to be a long, windy road for all of us. I have faith that its the right road. Hang in there.

  2. I just had sleeve surgery one week ago today. In the last 3 weeks I've lost 15 lbs. Being 57 I had to decide to continue to be unhealthy in all aspects or to try to change the things I can. I can't change my thyroid but I can try to change my physical life, physical health and emotional wellness. It is a very hard, very scary decision. It got to the point where doing nothing was scarier. Hang in there.

  3. 9/13 for me. The day of surgery was horrible pain. I had the band removed and sleeve made. The gas and incision pains were tough. That night I was much better and walked, walked walked. Home the next day, tired and sore but walked. Day 3 stopped pain pills. Only allowed CL and Water for 5 days. Very light headed and dopey. Day 5 began Protein shakes and broth. Vitamin patch began day 3. One week today. Each day gets better. Only one pain pill in last few days. I've been cooking for my family and sitting with them. I'm doing a little too much and I think I need a little more rest. All in all progressing. Good luck everyone.

  4. Soooooooooo some people just will never, ever, ever, ever, get it. This is the time in our lives where we are finally investing in ourselves, our physical and emotional health and our quality of life. We don't have the energy to take care of ourselves and invest our emotions in people not supportive of our Quest. Kick him out of the space your allowing him to rent in your head and fill it with the visual of a healthy, happy future you. Best wishes to you.

  5. Walk some every hour. My first day was much worse than I was prepared for. The nurse told me to lay on my side. Getting on my side was tough. Use the bed rail and breath. It helped a lot. Then since most of the gas was in the left side of my back, someone rolled up a blanket and wedged it under my left side. I stayed angled like that and it helped. Within about y hours I forced myself to walk every hour laps, took a rest for Half hour and started again for a few hours till 1 a.m. did steps 2x on first day and at least once a day since. Its tender going up but fine down and also helps with gas. Good luck

  6. I had it on 9/13. Water and Crystal Light through yesterday. Today I start 3 shakes a day. I stay on that for 2 weeks. I can sub Protein Soup for a couple but I have to get them. Its amazing how different it is from practice to practice on what we can eat and drink in the same time period. I've been very lighted and feeling weak so yesterday I added 2 shakes. Hope everyone is well.
