  1. I had surgery same day as you and this past week has been the first i haven't lost anything. I weigh weekly...i know I probably shouldn't even do it that much but my grandmother asks me every week for an update and I'm to dang curious myself so I weigh and I check lol. I lost 15 lb pre op and 21 sense surgery. I know others who weigh less than me and some who weigh more than me who are further along than I am. I admit that thought is frustrating when I am doing everything i can to meet the docs orders and still not seeing someone elses results on my scale. But, I have faith in the process. Hang in there @@gustavio stalls are temporary...frustrating yes, but temporary. I have spent the past 30 years of my life putting this weight on. I can't expect it all to come off in just a few months. Our bodies are still healing, and we are both women so hormones and bloating and all that crappy stuff are part of the equation. It WILL come off.

    Water

For me it seems the more i drink the more thirsty i get. Also someone told me it could be a sign that your body is going into ketosis, which is a good thing to get the pounds off. If you can't make yourself drink more and the dry mouth is driving you crazy you could always get biotene mouthwash...it's made specifically for dry mouth. Hope this helps!
  3. Hey there. If you look up at the top of the page where your user name is right next to your private message box. Click on your name and you will get a drop down. About half way down you will see "My Tickers" click that and follow the steps to create your ticker.

    I hate protein shakes

Check with your doc and see if you can have Premier Protein. They were a life saver for me. chocolate and caramel are wonderful. You could also try the unflavored Isopure protein and mix it with pretty much anything. I would mix it with diet v8 splash. It didn't really alter the flavor of the juice. Worked for me anyway. Good luck!
  5. I'm 13 days out and just started my soft foods, just a bit of egg salad..(hard boiled eggs light mayo and a bit of mustard to cut make it moist without overdoing the mayo.) I had some for lunch, and it was very little. My body let me know pretty quickly that I had had enough...i felt like the food was stuck in the middle of my chest for just a moment, so that was a good warning to slow it down and chew a bit more next go round. I felt the same as you about the liquids though. I sip all day and feel like i could guzzle it down without any issues...but i don't because i don't want to create an issue lol. Best of luck!
  6. I'm only 4 days post op but for me it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. I woke up in recovery with no pain or nausea, made it back to my room and immediately had to use the restroom. I was still half drugged and clumsy but made it with the help of a nurse and back. Still at that point feeling no pain. About an hour later i had walked up and down the hall, the fog had lifted and i could feel some tightness in my tummy. I had out patient surgery so I got dressed and left, made it up 2 flights of stairs at my mothers house had a few sips of Water and passed out in a recliner. Woke a few hours later to some pain meds because i was starting to feel sore. Not thinking of my new tiny stomach a swallowed the whole dose and immediately puked it back up. I only got sick one other time late in the night and the next morning i woke up feeling very tired and a bit sore. Now its day four and im back at my desk job working. Im still tender and my lower back aches from some of the positions i have put myself in to prevent stomach pain, and still very tired, but doing a lot better than i thought I would be at this point. Now my biggest issue is getting all these fluids down! Best of luck!!
  7. I know that pain is temporary, and that in the end this will all be worth it. I have faith in the surgery and in the plan. But, for those who have been through it, on a scale from 1 to 10 how bad does the surgery and recovery hurt? How long until you felt human again? I have never had any form of surgery besides the removal of my wisdom teeth and so this has me feeling a bit anxious. Thanks in advance for your responses!!!
  8. I know we all have differing pre op liquid diets but could yall give me a few tips and pointers? My liquid diet is 2 weeks of Protein shakes, clear and cream Soups (strained) sugar free Jello and pudding and yogurt. Any combinations that were tasty and filling for yall? I have Isopure unflavored Protein powder to mix into pretty much everything i eat so getting my protein in wont be a huge issue. Just looking for a few creative ideas that will make this a little easier. Thanks in advance for your responses!!
  9. This!! So much this! I have been a big girl my whole life, with all the highs and lows of yo yo dieting starting at about the age of 10. If we could do it alone we wouldn't be here talking to each other comforting and encouraging each other. (So glad I found this community btw, nobody i know personally understands!) I have gone through my entire life losing some, and then gaining even more back over and over again. I'm looking forward to finally having the tools I need to get healthy. I start my 2 week liquid diet later this week! Luck to all and a little for myself lol. Cheers!
  10. Late to the party here but posting anyway lol. I have been considered over weight since the age of 5. I have no idea what a skinny me would look like, but that isn't what made me decide to do this. My brother and sister in law were going to have a baby (I already had a 13 year old nephew and sis in law brought 2 kiddos from a previous marriage). I looked at these kids and the potential of this new life and i started thinking how much I really wanted to be around to see them grow up graduate from high school, college, watch them get married and have kids of their own. And i started thinking I wasn't going to be able to do that if I didn't take care of myself and work on sticking around. My new nephew was born April 30th, and my first visit with my doctor was May 11th, with surgery set for Aug 25th. I'm nervous and excited and just plain ready to go. I have to start getting healthier so I can chase these kiddos around!
