I got rid of clothing as I moved down two sizes. So for example I got rid of my 22's when I got to an 18 and so on. I'm now a 12/14 depending on brand but I've been siting here for a couple months now.

I was never once nasty either. You realize this isn't your original post right? That some people on here might be commenting to the person who posted the original thread! -

First of all don't call me dear, it's condescending. Also it sounds like you need to take your own advice and think before you type. You quoted me. I never said a word to you. I never attacked you or responded to your one of your posts at all. I made one response to the OP advising her to do her research and you quoted me. Said you did your research (don't care) and then told me who you voted for (again don't care) and asked me what I felt about that. And then told me to leave you alone when I never once spoke to you. Sounds like you need to get a hobby and find a more productive use of your time if your just going to come on here and fight people. -
I questioned myself leading up to surgery and in the weeks after. Now at 9 months post op this was the best decision I ever made. It's hard in the beginning and you will question yourself but as the time passes and you feel better the outlook becomes better.

My program starts full liquids the first day home so that included 3 protein shakes a day, or at least that's what they wanted. It was hard to get 3 in and drink my fluids too.

Sullie06 replied to srayon's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
First off I was speaking to the OP in terms of her concerns with having surgery with Dr. Almanza. If you are comfortable with your reasons, good for you, however this is her post so I was answering her question. It's her choice, not mine or yours, who operates on her. She has a right to do her research and make an educated decision. I'm happy you are comfortable with your choice but there is not need to be a bully and respond to every poster who has a different opinion than you. I wasn't even speaking to you. If I were I would have quoted you! Also, excuse my language, but I really don't give a **** who you voted for or why. That has nothing to do with weight loss surgery or this post. It's just you trying to start problems. It's none of your business what my political stance is and completely irrelevant to this board and this conversation. For all you know I could be the biggest Trump supporter on the planet, or I could not be.... doesn't matter. Last I checked Trump doesn't perform weight loss surgery nor is he a surgeon. -
It feels great doesn't it? I'm 9 months post op and I've gone from a snug 22 to a comfortable 12/14 depending on brand. It's so strange to me to go to straight size stores and be able to find stuff to buy. I've always been a jeans girl, even at my highest weight though moving into those 22 was hard as hell, I've never been comfortable in leggings but it was getting so hard to find a good pair of jeans and expensive too that I started wearing leggings last fall. My favorite Lane Bryant jeans set me back 80.00 a pair. These jeans cost me 11.00 at Sears and they are so comfortable.

Just do your research and if you have even the slightest reservation find a different surgeon. This surgery can be very risky but if you have it done by a qualified surgeon and follow your post op plan you can have great results. I personally would not let Dr. Almanza operate on me just based on the negative stories but that's a decision you can only really make for yourself. I was lucky enough to have a local surgeon perform my surgery. -
Having a sleeve in hospital is hard.
Sullie06 replied to dreamingsmall's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Can someone bring you some protein based snacks that don't require refrigeration, I'm thinking like beef jerky, nuts, protein chips, protein bars or shakes and they can wipe the packaging down with alcohol to prevent contamination before it goes in your room and then you can keep them in your room? I've never seen a hospital that doesn't allow a person to bring in food or snacks that isn't on a special diet. You might have to get firm with them that you need the added protein -

I asked because it all looked pureed. They need to step up the food options in that kitchen because that looks awful. I'm sorry about the awful choices. -

Do you have a local Bariatric program you could consult with? I know our bariatric program welcomes people who had surgery in other places but live locally to the plan. Maybe see if there is a support group you can attend and see if a NUT or local Surgeon can look at your medical records and suggest a plan for you to eat after surgery.

Stalls happen. I just had a really slow month, bouncing up and down the same 2 pounds for weeks. It will break you just have to keep at it. I find that when I stall I usually have to increase my intake a bit. Slowly increase your calories until you start losing again and then stay there for awhile.

What did your doctor say about you having surgery?
Sullie06 replied to ceciliarose's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had to be referred to the program by my primary care doctor. It was actually my OBGYN who first referred me to the bariatric information seminar and then when I wanted to officially go into the program I saw my primary. She just asked if I really wanted to go the surgical route because I had a lower BMI but by then I knew this was the best route for me. -
Starbucks Egg bites
Sullie06 replied to Sleeveforme2017's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's a small price to pay for the overall goal. I can live without eggs much better than I was living at 300 pounds. I miss them mostly because many breakfast items are carb heavy but I am figuring it out. -

I had the sleeve. My hair loss started around 3-4 months and is still going strong at 9 months post op. Every time I show it is scary, my hair is so thin now.

My NUT said that not eating is more detrimental to your health and over-all weight loss and wanted me to get back to getting my nutrition through food as quickly as possible. It's scary, the thought of gaining the weight back but stalls are normal and usually I have to increase my intake to break a stall. Take it day by day and make good/healthy choices.

Eating out for the first time
Sullie06 replied to Kathytej's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know that the said lunch already passed but just wanted to add for people who might read this in the future that Meatball Parm is a good choice because it's protein based, it's easy to eat and it tastes great the next day . -
Soft solids started at 5 weeks for me. Regular diet advanced at 10 weeks post op.

Knot at incision site

I had the same thing. I was told it was swollen scar tissue and it would go away. It did, my incision lines are all completely flat. -
Problems one year out
Sullie06 replied to lgravois's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm currently having issues with my Gallbladder as well and it can make you feel awful. I'm maintaining mine with diet changes currently because I'm trying to wait until next year to have it out if possible but if I eat the wrong thing it's not pretty.
