  1. It took about 3 months for me to start to feel comfortable eating again. Now I have no issues unless I have a bit to much food or I eat super fast. Normal every day eating doesn't give me any discomfort.

    Soft solid introduction

I would play around a little with what foods your eating because it could be an intolerance issue. Since my sleeve I can't eat eggs anymore, unless it's straight egg whites, without discomfort and cramping. I'm 10.5 months out and I still have issues with eggs so I stay away from them. Also chicken is a big issue for a lot of people so it could be that as well. Keep trying and if it's uncomfortable back down to pureed for a few days and then try again.

    Straws after surgery

I'm a little over 10 months post op and I've been using straws since about 3 months post op. My doc said if it doesn't bother me, it doesn't bother him. I've found that I can get more fluids in if I use a straw.

    Post op complications

Something like this. Check with your surgeon of course but this was what they recommended to me: http://traditionalsweets.com/index.php/sugar-free/sugar-free-confectionery/simpkins-sugar-and-gluten-free-ginger-drops.html I actually found some at Babies R Us that were used for morning sickness that my NUT okayed for mild nausea I would sometimes get early on and when I had the stomach flu I tried them as well.
  5. My husband cooks. He did all the cooking prior to surgery and he continues to do the cooking after. I don't cook. I don't like to and I'm not good at it so it hasn't changed much in our house. My hubby has always cooked healthy so that's not an issue, we just used to eat out a lot so we don't do that anymore. Now it's a treat.
  6. I have no issues tolerating rice, bread or pasta but I tend to stay away from rice and pasta. I will have a bit of pasta on occasion but it's more of like a special treat (like a trip to my favorite local Italian Restaurant for raviolis) and Rice I rarely at prior to surgery. Bread I eat frequently. I have found Pepperage Farms Very Thin bread and it's great. I can make a little sandwich or have some toast and doesn't make me feel guilty or uncomfortable.

    Scrambled Eggs

I still can't eat eggs! They go down fine but they make me feel like crap after and I end up in the bathroom with bowel issues.

    Regretting my surgery.

On top of what everyone else added, I suggest... go out. Try to dive back into your life and it might help you emotionally. I was having a lot of depression issues right after surgery but once I started going out and being social with my friends/family and realized I'm still me, I was doing much better. It also helped me realized that I don't need food to be social, I can just be me.

    Post op complications

You can make your own popsicles, get some molds and freeze whatever works for you. I don't personally like artificial sweeteners so I'm not doing a lot of sweets but I actually made Ice Tea pops over the summer. Also try ginger in the AM. First thing before you get out of bed get some ginger drops and pop one. Ginger settles the stomach so it might help you in the AM similar to the way it would with morning sickness.

    Tired of the stall

I'm a slow loser and in the midst of a long ass stall, have been bouncing 2 pounds up and down since 10/2/17. Stalls happen and they suck but stay the course and stay focused. I have found that early on I just stuck with it and those stalls would break. Once I hit 6 months I realized if I had a long stall I had to switch things up. Change calorie and carb intake and exercise regimen. Just stay strong. I've heard of people who stalled for months and then one day they started losing again.

    Post op complications

Regret is normal, especially early out. I thought for sure I had made the biggest mistake of my life but it turns out it was actually the best decision I ever made. For the acid, Protonix worked best for me. I took it from about 1 month post op until 9 months post op and it really did a good job with the heart burn and the hungry feeling. As for meals at this stage eat what works, add protein powder and get your fluids. If ice seems to work best, eat popsicles to stay hydrated.

    Stall

I've been stalled for going on 6 weeks currently but I've dropped another size (my clothing is big again) and I've noticed that my arms and legs have started to tighten up so I know that something is happening but it's frustrating none-the-less.

    Head Hunger.....it's real!!!

I found that I have to proactively find something else to do when I start to feel that way. Even if it means just getting up and walking around my office or while I'm at home finding a task to complete until I get my mind off of it. If I take my mind off of it and I'm still hungry then I know its legitimate hunger and I will have a healthy snack.
  14. I have life insurance through my employer. I had to update my records after my VSG but it did not affect my coverage.
  15. Congrats on beating the hill and 100 pounds. It was an exciting goal to hit. I have to agree that this year's trick or treating was so much easier than years past. Those 113 pounds gone really make a difference on everything I do!

I wanted to dress up but I had no where to go so I focused on my kids instead lol.

    Drinking.

Impossible to be honest. For about 2 weeks I couldn't get anywhere near my goal. All I did all day was sip, sip, sip and it was exhausting. It gets better. Now I can drink 32 ounces in a couple hours.

    PCP discouragement

I'm sure a lot of factors contribute and every doctor is different in education and experience. We had a conversation about it in our local support group because people were coming into the program and having issues with their PCPs in some form or another. They did find that the vast majority of the PCPs who attended the education seminar the bariatric program provided are working much better with the clinic now so my bet is they are willing
  19. Take pictures and do side by sides. That really helps me. Also buy clothing that fits because it will really help your confidence. I've also found that there is larger difference between plus sizes so I went down sizes slower when I was in plus than I did once I got into straight sizes.

    Head Hunger.....it's real!!!

I have found that I still struggle not to eat when I'm bored as that's was a bad habit of mine. I am fine all day at work then I get the last hour and I just want to sit at my desk and eat. So annoying.

    PCP discouragement

I have found the PCPs sometimes are not up to date on education regarding bariatric surgery and even bariatric issues. Our program has a training class that PCPs in the area can take to be better informed. My PCP was not against my surgery but she wasn't 100% for it. She signed off on it but she kept asking me if I was sure I wanted to go the surgical route and offered to put me on a structured diet a few time. On the other hand my OBGYN was ecstatic about it and couldn't stop singing the praises of bariatric surgery.
  22. You have to buy a whole new wardrobe because you need one not because you want one. Date night is a much cheaper event You feel younger than you have in years.

    I love my sleeve because..?

I love my sleeve because * it has allowed me to be a better and more active mother for my children * Food isn't the center of my world but I can still enjoy all the things I did before, only now I have control on what, how much and how often I eat them * I finally feel like I fit in better with my slim girlfriends. Now I'm not just the "fat girl" and it has made me feel so much better about social events. * I can shop in regular sized stores which is a big deal with plus sized options are so limited here

    Before and After Pics

Thank you Samantha. I still have a bit to go but this journey has been so worth all the discomfort and emotions in the early stages.

WHATS THE LONGEST STALL YOU'VE HAD???

I've been stalled for a little over a month currently. Bouncing between 185-188 and it's so frustrating but I'm just sticking to my plan. I had a previous 5 week stall back around 6 months post op, I'm 10 months post op now, so I'm hoping this stall will break soon. I'm about 10 pounds from my surgeons initial goal. I typically stall about 2 weeks every month around my cycle. The week before and the week of I'm lucky if I lose a pound but I was losing 2-4 pounds the following 2 weeks.
