healthynurse74 got a reaction from linah in Hubby says " you aren't the one that has to be attracted to you" ..., WHAT?
This week I was told by my hubby I don't need to lose anymore wt. I am not at my goal yet I am down 123lbs. He was ashamed of me being heavy not I'm getting to thin. I am currently at 204 from 327lbs I am not stopping its my body and I'm still on my journey. For our husband its a sign of insecurity, or in some cases they r heavy and have yet made the decision to love them selves like us and it makes them feel bad about themselves when we accomplished something like we have. It's all their own issues coming out. And ur husband is wrong you most def have to b attracted to yourself. It's called self love!! We must love ourselves in and out . KEEP going girl !!!

@@Seastars "Mostly hitting your Water goal" may be the issue. You need even more than 64ozs a day if you are exercising. Try increasing your water and see if that helps. I imagine it is extremely frustrating - hang in there!

LOL. You definately need to stay off the scale. You are going to fluctuate regularly. I actually laughed out loud at your comment about never seeing the scale go up again. I here to tell you that is NOT true.
I was a daily weighed. I weighed myself every single day following RNY. For me I didn't let it get to me because the reality is you are going to fluctuate. You have too much salt one day you will retain Water. It's actually interesting to track. I know from one day to the next whether or not the scale will go up or down because I weighed every day.
The issue with that is if you let the fluctuations get to you and are putting time boxes on your weight loss you are going to lose your mind.
You are not in control right now of anything but what you put in your mouth. Your body is in charge of when you lose or gain. Kind of like autopilot. All you need to focus on is putting the right things in your tummy and let your body take care of the rest. If you do that you will continue to lose weight (however some days the scale will go up....).
There was only one time when I had to put my damn scale away and that was in my 11th month post op. I had a 28 day stall and tried like hell to be patient but that one got to me. The stall broke but it was a very long month.
You have to decide if you can handle the news from the scale daily or not....if not just put it away and weigh yourself once a week at the same time of day. Or some people refuse to even weigh themselves that often. They weigh only when they see the doctor or once a month. If you follow the plan you don't need to worry about the scale.
And for the love of Peter, don't time box yourself. Your body is in charge and decides how quickly or slowly things will move. Time boxing weight loss can be one of the most demotivating things for someone trying to lose weight. It just is not good for the physche.

Remember, a cup of Water is half a pound. 64 oz. of water is four pounds. If you retain any portion of your daily water due to high sodium, hormonal fluctuations, Constipation, sore muscles, etc., then you will see a temporary "gain" on the scale.< /p>

Have you eaten an extra 10,500 calories in the past two days? No? I didn't think so!
It's Water weight. Your weight is going to fluctuate a couple of pounds here and there due to Water retention. Don't freak out about it. Drink a lot of water, maybe add some lemon to it, and make sure you lay off the sodium for a couple of days.

There is nothing that says you have to rush into the solid phase. Just take your time because solid food can be hard especially in the beginning.
So let us go over basics. The three most important elements after RNY gastric bypass surgery are to meet your daily Protein, Fluid and Vitamin requirements. food is secondary because your body is converting your stored fat into the energy that drives your body. Thus you lose weight.
Weight loss is achieved after surgery through volume control. You begin at 2 ounces (1/4 cup) per meal and gradually over the next year and a half increase the volume to 1 cup per meal. With this minuscule amount of food, it is next to impossible to meet your Protein daily requirements by food alone, so therefore you need to rely on supplements such as Protein shakes.
For me I found that solid foods (such as steak) were hard to deal with after surgery. But softer foods (chili and soups) went down much easier. So this is what I relied on. I wrote a short article about my experience and included some recipes, if you would like to try them at the end of the article. http://www.breadandbutterscience.com/Surgery.pdf
