Checking in at 5:30 AM. Surgery scheduled for 7:30. If everything goes to plan, should be in a regular room around noon. Wow!

I did that. Gained 13 lbs and had no regrets. Now that I am post op, I am glad I got to eat and drink all my favorites before the pre-op stage. My last meal was amazing. Now I am content with the post op requirements and I have no cravings.

Note to self: I don't have to take this day all at once but rather one step, one breath and one moment at a time. I am only one person.

September 13th surgery here! All day doctor visit 9/7 (metabolism, NUT classes, surgery time, final consult with surgeon).
You mean you're not already on a liquid diet?! Lucky bugger!! My dr. wanted me on 3 weeks and I confessed to nurse that I ate solid dinners the first week and she threatened to cancel the surgery if I didn't lose weight by 9/7 ... As of last Tuesday its been 100 oz. of liquids a day, including 4 Protein shakes and 3 servings of Benefiber ... And 100 mg stool softener... And now I have to take B12 because I was low ... Fun, fun.

I am getting my surgery on 9/13 and I am a little nervous and excited. I see my surgeon on 9/7 so I guess I will ask most of my questions at that time. I was wondering if anyone has traveled on an airplane less than a month after surgery? I have a trip planned on 10/11 and I am not even sure how I will be felling by then and what I will be able to eat at that time; will I still be on pureed foods? I was also wondering if all patients have to be on a liquid diet before surgery? I know I am asking so many questions, just not sure what to expect. Thanks in advance for any insight you can give me..

Hello all you lovely sleevers! My name is Kelly Johnson-Sally and I am 21 years old. I live in New York but I go to college in Massachusetts. I was sleeved on November 22nd 2014. So far I have lost about 100 pounds. I decided to try something new at school and tried out for my college lacrosse team and made it. I never thought I would play A sport not to mention D3 women's lacrosse. I love to talk to new people so please reach out. I would love to talk to pre-surgery people. I just started the program. I have an appt to see my surgeon on August 5th. I wish that day was tomorrow since I am impatient to get the ball rolling. I am not sure how many months I have to have a supervised diet/weigh-ins because my insurance (Tricare Standard) doesn't specify. It just says that I need to show proof of failed medically supervised diets with your PCP. I hope I only have to do 3 months or less. Crossing my fingers lol. Good luck on your journey!

My PCP referred me 2 weeks ago, but I don't meet with the surgeon until Sept. 14. This is something I have been wanting to do for about a year now, but there were no approved surgeons on my last insurance plan.
